ActiveCampaign is used for email automation for my wellness business and courses. It saves me so much time by doing all the heavy lifting for me and integrating other platforms to seamlessly funnel clients along and provide them with quality content effortlessly.
  • Automation
  • User friendly
  • Integrations
  • Low cost
  • No feedback on this. It is a great platform.
Best suited when you are expanding and looking to grow an email list. Great for funnels or marketing campaigns to "catch" and educate potential clients.

We use ActiveCampaign for keeping customers up to date about new products/brands and monthly newsletters. Also we organize our opt-in lead campaigns through ActiveCampaign.
  • Useful e-mail templates.
  • Clear academy where we can find detailed videos'/trainings on how to set up emails campaigns, websites and drip campaigns for instance.
  • Various options to edit the email templates to our own branding.
  • Easy to upload & update contacts.
  • Easy to integrate with other apps like Salesforce and WooCommerce.
  • So far there is no possibility to refresh the nr of people that viewed a landing page, this is a pity since we often view the page ourselves during the launch to see if everything works live. These numbers however are no longer accurate in that way.
Useful and easy program to manage your contacts and set up e-mail automations to onboard new clients. Besides, it is easy to plan ahead and schedule email campaigns such as monthly newsletters. All content is easily traceable so a good analysis can be made of which campaigns perform better than others (& potentially why).

I have used ActiveCampaign for email campaigns with follow-up forms, automations from website-based forms flowing from ads or research, and generally managing mailing lists. The design flexibility of the forms and the emails allowed me to make a professional impression when contacting people or when they responded to an ad. The automations also worked very well, and were easy to monitor progress.
  • The graphic design is very good, especially fonts, colours and templates
  • Flexibility of design and functionality
  • Takes a little while to learn it, but generally user-friendly
  • Looks very professional but doesn't cost much to get started
  • There are masses of integrations for ActiveCampaign, and the ones I tried all worked well and didn't take long to figure out.
  • It took me a while to get to understand where to find things, and I used a free online course from a consultant who specialises in AC to help me get the foundations set up more easily. That said, there were lots of onboarding workshops, which were good. It just felt like it required a lot of different angles of learning to just get started.
  • The customer support took longer than other software to get back to me via email, though once I found the chat option for my most recent query, that was fast.
  • I've ended up switching to another programme where more software is more naturally integrated, and the AC equivalent is included in the price, along with many other types of software. However, design-wise, ActiveCampaign is much better.
  • I also had a problem with a form used on my WordPress website, which has a BuddyBoss platform - the colours on the form would be overridden by colour choices for the website, so they were hard to read (pink text on purple background instead of the gold text it was meant to be)
  • I couldn't always find the templates I was looking for or how to access them for automation-based emails. I think when I used it, there was a new type of template for newsletters that weren't available for automations, so I had to recreate it, which added time.
I think ActiveCampaign is very useful for setting up newsletters, forms, and automated responses that are nicely branded, with good functionality. It's also useful if you are starting small and want something both inexpensive to get started but also very scaleable as you grow. Do use the double security because I got a lot of spam through forms, even with a captcha.

We use ActiveCampaign for marketing smart automation and also consult with other companies on selecting marketing automation tools. ActiveCampaign is a very powerful tool for small businesses looking for a rich feature-set at an affordable price.
  • The automation interface is fairly intuitive to work through and offers powerful, flexible features.
  • For the price and features it offers, it's the best value of any automation service that exists today.
  • It has a TON of options for the advanced user to tinker and test with.
  • Since it has so many options, a beginner might be overwhelmed by the choices available. This is hard to avoid when offering so much flexibility, but still, a new user would be well-served to watch some tutorials and have a clear idea about the workflow they want to get started.
  • There is a point at which your list will outgrow the service (hopefully!) and you might want to think about switching to a service whose CRM and landing page functionality is more robust.
For the small business who is just getting started or has a list smaller than 2,500 contacts, ActiveCampaign is a leader in smart communication. Compared with free (or cheap) alternatives like MailChimp or Constant Contact, the feature set provides a lot more value. The one real caveat here is that you have to really want to use the features. For someone who is happy to just send out their monthly newsletter, this might be more than you need.

We use ActiveCampaign to generate and nurture leads, manage sales pipeline with a built-in CRM to help close sales, and stay in touch with existing customers. It's an integral part of the business as it helps bring in new customers and keep existing customers while increasing their lifetime value with new orders and services.
  • Automation campaigns are excellent in ActiveCampaign. It allows granular control over what happens when to whom and how. You can create very complex automated campaigns to nurture leads at the right time with the right content.
  • Ability to create custom pipelines is great as it allows us to cater to different sales processes that vary depending on customer type and/or different services, so we can track the right information in a flow that makes sense in specific situations.
  • Sending 1-to-1 emails in CRM that are tracked so we know when contacts open emails.
  • Chrome extension for Gmail is really useful to access contact data within emails in Gmail and being able to track emails sent in Gmail.
  • You can't add a contact without an email address.
  • Site tracking of visitors sometimes doesn't work, so when they submit a form their activity prior to form submission is lost.
  • Sales/CRM reporting is very limited. Anyone coming from a proper CRM like Salesforce would find reporting unusable, especially sales teams.
  • Email builder needs some work, it has certain limitations and doesn't allow custom designs to be editable in the builder.
  • No Android app for CRM (suppose to be in the works as we were told).
ActiveCampaign has its shortcomings, but it is a very good marketing automation platform and can do wonders for a business. The best feature is the automated campaigns. It allows very targeted communication that some larger (enterprise focused) marketing automation platforms can't provide. That's why a lot of businesses, especially online businesses, flock to ActiveCampaign. They want to take advantage of the automatons that ActiveCampaign provides to generate leads and sales.

Where I wouldn't recommend ActiveCampaign (at least not right now) is when a business has a sales team. The limited CRM functionality and poor reporting compared to dedicated CRMs would make it very difficult for a sales team to function, especially for a sales manager to get proper reporting to know how everyone is doing and where they are as a sales organization.

We use ActiveCampaign to manage our email campaigns across the whole company. We also use ActiveCampaign as a 3rd party email automation solution for our clients. It helps us to automate the emails sent to our prospects and current clients. For our marketing agency clients, we use ActiveCampaign to manage their email lists and send automated emails.
  • ActiveCampaign can handle large email lists
  • ActiveCampaign helps to keep the emails lists organized
  • The ActiveCampaign automation is a must to keep the email list healthy and engaged
  • We think the workflow, from creating a list until designing the automation, should be a little more intuitive
  • First-time users must watch quick tutorials to move quickly inside the application if they want to better understand the system
ActiveCampaign can be used to import emails from funnels (landing page), so the prospect received an automated email (welcome email). This email can be tagged and, at the same time, a simple or complex email automation can be started. This automation can be created and administrated visually by using the email design tool.

ActiveCampaign is used to reach subscribers and our clients. We are informing them about our products/services and reaching them by weekly newsletters about stuff that we are in coaching, leadership, teamwork, inspiration for goals/dreams, and insights on how to reach them.
Also, we use ActiveCampaign to guide subscribers through the whole client journey with us: from their beginning to know why we are doing to the end where we could partner together.
  • Subscribers are always one step to reach
  • A helping partner to see their engagement
  • CRM tool to find out how our business can work better
  • Still there are spam issue - emails heeded in the spam folder
  • There could be more flexibility to customize newsletters
  • Direct connection with payments
There could be a way to have support in the local language.
Also, reminders or invitations to look up about the content that is best for the customer so we could change the message we are delivering.
And it could be a sign if our emails should be fixed if they suppose to go to the spam folder of subscribers/customers.

We introduced ActiveCampaign to help an external marketing partner last year. Our goal was we were building a better onboarding automation for new subscribers than we used before. We would have liked to segment our new subscribers based on several aspects. Then we send automated emails based on different tags.
  • displaying automations
  • reporting
  • clarified administration panel
  • no native integration with unbounce
  • faster admin
  • whitelist is unnecessary
Building email automation is well suited. I do not know where it is less appropriate, we only use the functionality of email automation.

ActiveCampaign has helped our small business to reach our current and potential customers through reliable, professional emails. We are able to gain insight into our customers through automation that would not otherwise be possible. Each of our customers is unique, and ActiveCampaign treats them as individuals, not just a bulk email delivery service.
  • ActiveCampaign has high delivery rates.
  • ActiveCampaign allows for high levels of customization for content, as well as contact information.
  • ActiveCampaign uses contacts activity and preferences to deliver the right information at the most appropriate time.
  • ActiveCampaign is up to date with the latest needs of its clients. SMS, landing pages, as well as design options are all available.
  • ActiveCampaign is truly limitless in its potential, but learning how to reach this potential could be improved with additional training available.
  • A little bit of building is required for all automation. I'd like to see the process simplified for at least a few automations.
  • The help window size doesn't expand, this makes reading help articles a little more difficult.
ActiveCampaign is especially good for businesses that would like to connect their online store with their email marketing platform to maximize returns. What sets ActiveCampaign apart from all other email platforms is its ability to lead potential buyers through automated flows. If you are just looking to deliver your monthly newsletters ActiveCampaign is likely too much power, and price for what you need. But if you want the most customizable experience for your customers and potential customers then ActiveCampaign truly stands alone as the best available platform.

We use [ActiveCampaign] across the entire company as a way to stay connected with potential clients and proactively addressing their needs by creating consistent, valuable content.
  • Customer service
  • Easy to use and navigate
  • Simple to change and grow with
  • Pricing maybe
  • More templates available
[ActiveCampaign] is great for any level of user. I myself am not at all technically inclined and I found it simple to navigate and keep up with changes in my workload. It is a program that grows with you and tracks all that is necessary to keep up with the growth of your own company.

I can't actually think of a scenario where one wouldn't benefit from their services and platform.

We use ActiveCampaign to automate email marketing across all divisions of our company and also as a simple CRM. It helps us communicate with our database manually with single campaigns and on 'autopilot' once automation is set up.
  • Email Marketing Automation
  • Integration with other tools via API
  • List and contact segmenting
  • Email creation can be glitchy and slow at times
  • CRM could have better 'Task' functionality
It's well suited to small businesses who want a reliable and economic marketing tool to reach their audiences. It integrates really well with other tools via API and webhooks which makes it even more attractive.

ActiveCampaign is the easiest software for creating regular newsletters for the members of my website. I have used a few other companies for my newsletters in the past but they were always clunky, overly confusing and complicated and the designs of the layouts were less than inspiring. It meant that I avoided writing newsletters and that costs a business dearly!

ActiveCampaign has made it easy for me to talk to my members in just 20 minutes. By creating templates for different areas of the business and having clear and easy to create contact lists I can target different people easily, whether it's to share a job alert, new blog post or podcast or to share a new feature they can check out.

It's also been really easy to integrate it with my website so I don't have to lift a finger. I just set up a email sequence and it's done. Total game changer.
  • Easy to save your settings (fonts/colours) so you can use them again if starting a news letter from scratch
  • They are constantly updating the way it works. The addition of the backwards step was very much appreciated
  • You can easily see previous templates and just rewrite the content to save time
  • I like that you can send yourself a test email to see how the layout looks. It's a quick step but has made all the difference
  • There could me more tutorials and help for non tech people.
I have no tech experience but I found it quite easy to find my way around getting everything set up. There are some more complex areas where I needed to hire someone to do some set ups for me. Perhaps that's my lack of coding knowledge

  • Segment customers
  • Automated email sending
  • Move from one list to another automatically

We use ActiveCampaign to automate the marketing processes and reach more potential students, so they apply to our university. We have it connected to other platforms that is being used for international student application processing.
  • Easy to use automation builder
  • Great selection of templates

  • Better tag system
  • A bit slow reaction time sometimes
I can see ActiveCampaign implemented in small and medium sized corporations where there is a large database of contacts.

As a small company with an even smaller sales organization, we have to automate most of the nurturing process. To that end, ActiveCampaign provides us with an easy platform to set up our automation, iterate as needed, and send general newsletters. It is also a great way to keep track of engagement as the contact DB is extremely powerful and integrates easily with our CRM.
  • Marketing automation
  • Lead scoring
  • Email blasts
  • Contact segmentation
  • Email design isn't so easy to use
  • I sometimes wish we could be even more granular in our automations
For small organizations, it is the perfect tool. However, I can definitely imagine cases where bigger companies would struggle to use the platform. Keep in mind that it is not meant to be a holistic marketing platform à la Hubspot. So it does what it is supposed to do really well, but it does not go above and beyond.

We use ActiveCampaign for email marketing as well as automation workflows from lead campaigns to client journeys.
This solves the issue of having to manually make sure our customers are in the correct campaigns. If they cancel services the system can automatically move the client from a normal campaign over to our lost customer campaign and continually try to get them back.
  • Setting up automated emails
  • Building complex workflows with if/else statements works quite well
  • Email builder was not very smooth, can be clunky and sometimes even just randomly changes the format with no undo button.
We really like ActiveCampaign for automating our email system. We can set our email plan and as customers come into the system from lead gen or direct we built the system to then move customers through our campaigns based on what they like or how they came into the system.
We no longer had to manually email everyone or make sure they are getting the correct emails.
The initial setup took a little longer to get all the pieces set up just right, but after that then life was so much easier.

I signed up for ActiveCampaign on the recommendation from the consultant I hire to do my marketing. I needed something that would manage multiple client lists and provide an easy means of sending news and updates to each segmented list. We've been able to cultivate and manage our email campaigns with ease and to date haven't had any technical problems with the system itself. It's been really great.
  • List Segmentation

  • Great dashboards.
  • I'm not as familiar with the system so can't really say

We use ActiveCampaign for our business and it is built into the majority of our internal systems and processes. We not only use it as a sales CRM, but we also heavily rely on the automations component of ActiveCampaign. Additionally, we also integrate our existing client process with ActiveCampaign so that we can automate actions and remove busy work for our employees. Overall, ActiveCampaign has paid for itself many times over!
  • Easy to use CRM that Sales people can pick up quickly
  • Fantastic automations builder that is intuitive
  • Easy contact management
  • The import feature has given us trouble
  • Support has sometimes been slow to help us find solutions to import problems we have faced
ActiveCampaign is fantastic for a small to medium-sized organization. The price is right and doesn't break the bank if you are a startup or a small company that needs a solid customer relationship management tool to get the job done. Also, most of the features are pretty intuitive that can be picked up quickly with minimal training.

We use ActiveCampaign to capture leads and automate sales campaigns on our webpage, as well as in our clients'.
  • Automations are particularly simple to develop and pretty flexible
  • Many integrations with other tools
  • Several recipes to inspire on
  • Forms are not easy to customize, there is a lot room for improvement here
  • Design features for emails could be sometimes limited
  • Navigation to get KPIs from emails campaigns could be a bit frustrating, it should be simpler
I believe the best platform for automations. It's easy to use, you have many tools and features. You can do almost everything you have in mind. We use ActiveCampaign to schedule email newsletters and build automated sales funnels for new leads and customers. ActiveCampaign makes it possible to schedule email newsletters well in advance, so we don't have to show up every week for this. There are also many features to create sales funnels from a free opt-in to a paid digital product.
  • Map out sales funnels
  • Create wait lists for new offers
  • Schedule email newsletters in advance
  • Design is not always intuitive, I sometimes have to look up how to do things
  • It has so many features, I'm sure I'm not using it up to its potential
  • The design could be more visually appealing
If you just want to schedule email newsletters, I would go with simpler software. Also when you need visually appealing email software, ActiveCampaign is not the one. If you want to map out sales funnels and keep track of leads coming into your business, ActiveCampaign will be perfect.

I run a small music school and I use ActiveCampaign to keep track of emails for the parents and students as well as keep track of new clients. I only recently started using the CRM component to keep track of the sales process. My only concern with adding new leads is that they require an email address. Sometimes, I only get a phone number before I get an email and it would be nice if I could make an account in Active Campaign without an email required.

I really like the templates for writing great emails. Also, the flow of an email sequence and funnel has saved me valuable time!
  • Email templates
  • Great funnels
  • Email capture
  • Ease of data entry
  • Cannot make a lead account without an email
  • Some language is difficult getting used to as it doesn't line up with industry-standard lingo
  • Signing in is always weird and takes a few extra steps
When I need to send an email to my entire studio, or a newsletter to the studio and those on my list, ActiveCampaign is perfect. If I need to send a one-off email to one client, ActiveCampaign is overkill.

If I need to send a survey or start a sales funnel, Active Campaign is perfect!
