Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

The Adaptive Suite is well-rounded. We love the add-on OfficeConnect because it allows us to quickly pull data from Adaptive in a report format. Once you set up the OfficeConnect, it's as easy as pushing a button to re-run. This has been especially helpful for month-end reporting and reconciling data in the Budget.

I think that it is very intuitive and once you get to know the system it is very user-friendly.

The reporting module is especially impressive with the drag and drop reporting - our business really loves this.

The system looks modern and "smart" and I never hesitate to show it off to stakeholders across the business.

Some of the "back end" formula set up can sometimes involve lots of heavy lifting as a power user.

Adaptive was very quick and easy to implement. Was also quick and easy to train up the users. Since initial implementation, we have deployed considerably more of the software's functionality ourselves without difficulty.

The user interface is simple but effective, and the organisational structure can be easily modified to reflect changes to the divisional hierarchy within the company. Most of the entry of data, which is largely what non-administrative users are doing on the system, is no more complicated than simply entering into cells in Excel so very little ongoing training and support has to be given to users.

On one hand the system is intuitive, runs at a fast processing speed and well organized.

On the other hand there are several functionalities (mentioned previously) that hinder smooth navigation and proper organization.

There are some things that could be done to make it easier. For example, if I want to pull an expense from a new sheet, I have to create a formula on all levels under that expense account.

This is one of the best features of Adaptive- if not the best.
It's very easy to use and simple to understand (speaking as a user- it's maybe a bit harder for people with admin rights).
You can learn it yourself using the instructions online.
Or you can teach people in other countries using skype (voice only and sharing screens)- as I have.

A lot of things are logical in use and at a click of the button. The more you build it out the more you have to be careful it is not information overload too. Coming from the finance group I have access to everything and it can look like a lot. But this is user defined and many users only see what they need which is helpful.

It's far easier than any other system I've used, but just like any system, there's a learning curve, and a lot to know and remember. Every Adaptive suite is customized to the organization, so you really need a lot of documentation to avoid issues when there's staff turnover.

Speaking on behalf of my company, it seems that most of our users found Adaptive easy to adopt as a new planning tool. However, most users haven't fully embraced Adaptive to make their lives easier. Personally, I would rate Adaptive 9 out of 10 because it has made my life easier. From an administration point of view, this is primarily due to less IT involvement and more standardization across all business units.

  • In the cloud, requires no software updates.
  • Interface is very similar to Excel, so very familiar.
  • Discovery dials are easy to design and easy to understand.

The implementation process was easy and learning the application pretty intuitive. The ability to use a sandbox environment to develop new sheets means that you don't impact the live models in the application. The sheets are easy to use and the user experience was positive from the beginning. The integration makes it easy to keep actuals up to date.
