Currently only the finance department is using Adaptive as we are still in the process of implementing. Soon, however it will be used organization wide. It addresses the problems of needing financial data in customized formats and reported on quickly.

Our instance of Adaptive was implemented around 18 months ago at the company I work at, and it was intended to streamline the forecast process and enhance our internal reporting capabilities. All of this was key for the growth which we were in the early stages of at the time. We relocated from San Diego and hired a new workforce in Dallas, plus we were actively adding companies to the portfolio. When we began looking for a reporting tool we met with several industry leaders including Adaptive, Oracle, IBM, Host etc. and we had a set of criteria for which we needed to make sure the choice would suffice the demands we would have for the product. Needless to say we picked Adaptive, but more importantly is to say that 2 years later we are all pleased with the decision. We just finished our second fiscal budget using Adaptive and our instance has evolved tremendously since the prior fiscal planning cycle. We are a private company owned by a private equity firm so we have large reporting requirements each month so the various reporting options, including Office Connect, ensures that we have the capability to churn out the reporting each month without a large effort by our analysts. We are gradually expanding the users beyond finance and accounting and the result has been good so far. We are beginning to develop various planning sheets that feed the income statement that have sound logic built into them, and the result is much higher forecast precision. In short, the problem 2 years ago was that we were unable to spend anytime understanding the business, with the biggest reason being time or the lack there of. Now we are streamlined with key reporting packages developed in Office Connect and the time to produce the package is a matter of minutes for one person, instead of weeks of work for multiple analysts. Now we are getting to the point where we understand the business implicitly and we are able to enhance our role in supporting the business and really turning our efforts to helping the organization make better financial decisions and plan for the future with more confidence. The results and the perception of Adaptive at my company are both great at this point. We're still growing and evolving just like our instance of Adaptive. We are pleased with product and feel confident that the product will be sufficient as we continue our growth.

Initially we used Adaptive Insights as our dynamic forecasting tool. Since phase one, we have now added dashboards through discovery and reporting. It has saved time on long-term projects, and made scenario analysis effortless. Initially, the Adaptive implementation was a challenge due to the complexity of our organizational structure, but once those initial problems were solved it has been easy to maintain.

I have previous experience using Hyperion, PeopleSoft, and Microsoft Excel to model financials. As flexible as regular spreadsheets are, it was always hard to get everybody on the same page. It was always a battle to get everyone referencing the same numbers and using the same version. Adaptive takes care of that. This tool has saved hours upon hours every month, as well improved accuracy and timeliness of reports.

We are currently about 2 months into the implementation of Adaptive within our company. The implementation is not yet fully complete, but we can already see the value that we will be getting from this software. Our user base will initially be the department heads of each business unit. We are a growing company, and the growth was making our Excel-based models more and more difficult to maintain and update. Adaptive solves that problem by creating a cloud-based scalable option. It increases collaboration by allowing the users to login and input their own data. It has helped our company integrate numerous data sources under one roof- allowing us to integrate and use the data in smarter ways. Adaptive has a small learning curve, but it is very user friendly and simple to make changes and understand how it works.

We use Adaptive to report our financial results each month. It is primarily used by finance but each department has at least one user who can access the results for their respective teams. We are now able to report on our financial results much quicker because of our use of Adaptive Insights. It also enables the business to track and manage their own expenses.

We are using Adaptive for our annual planning process and interim forecast updates. We have also started using Adaptive for ad hoc reporting and will be transitioning our monthly and quarterly reporting decks to Adaptive over the next couple of months. Currently, only our FP&A department utilizes Adaptive, but we plan to expand to the Accounting department, at a minimum over the next 3 - 6 months.

We had been using Excel which worked back when we were a small company, but as we grew, we realized Excel could not scale with us. The Adaptive Suite gave access to the budget owners wherever they were located and created an audited single source of truth.

This year we have rolled out Adaptive Suite to 80+ users at Clarke. It's used by the Finance, Sales, Operations and the Executive Team for planning and reporting. We've just about abandoned Excel and gone all in with Adaptive in our budget process which is helping us reduce non-value added time. Managers are seeing real-time data sooner, and we're able to do a lot more analysis with our data than we ever have before. Adaptive Suite is giving more visibility to the organization to see how all the components impact each other.

We were one of the early adopters of Adaptive and have used this for budgeting, forecasting, "what-if" scenarios, business changes, etc. It has been a staple of the business and improved our budgeting and forecasting. It has allowed us to review our business model and test out the possible impacts of changes to our organization or business model. Adaptive Insights has been the backbone of our organizations transition into quarterly rolling forecasts. It is also the source for BOD and executive presentations. It is a great intuitive software package that allows for scalable business process. I started with less than 5 active users and two years later we now have 70+ users imputing budgets and taking responsibilities for their forecasts. No longer do I hear "those are finance's numbers" because I don't put any data into the system. It is amazing and I highly recommend it. I have used SAP and Hyperion and they can't touch the flexibility of Adaptive.

Adaptive is being used by our organization primarily as a planning and forecasting tool. Prior to an acquisition we were using the Consolidation functionality as well and we still use it to compare budgets to actuals and to look at spending trends. We do an Annual Operating Plan, quarterly forecasts, and monthly forecast updates, all in Adaptive. We are also using Office Connect for monthly and budget reporting.
