Acrobat is the go-to PDF viewer and editor for business applications, from marking up floor plans for new builds to providing comments on proposals to merging documents. Adobe Acrobat does it all and more.
  • Markup (comments, stamps, shapes).
  • Signature collection.
  • Forms
  • Subscription costs can be high.
  • Regularly changing UI between major versions can be troublesome.
  • Some toolbars should be easier to access and remain in gui permanently.
- Building plan markup - Layers within PDFs - Comments and review - Form creation and data collection - Page modification & merging - Document signatures.

The feature I use most in Adobe Acrobat is 'organize pages, ' which allows me to move the documents around and add/remove them as well. I work with a lot of real estate agents, and one of the items I need to provide their office is the final communication. So, I would need to print all the emails related to that transaction and put them into one PDF file. So, organizing files is one feature I absolutely love. Secondly, I like that I have the ability to edit and add text.
  • Organize Files.
  • Editing Text.
  • Obtaining signature.
  • The signature could be a little larger. Perhaps there is a way to edit, but somehow I am unable to find it.
  • Other than that, all the items I am needing to use is available.
It provides all the features you need when handling documents, from organizing the documents to be in the order you would like them to be from obtaining signatures to making edits and writing any notes you have. I've been using Adobe Acrobat since I started my business in October 2020.

Adobe Acrobat is very important for the design area since in many cases it allows quick edits of artwork sent by clients in PDF format. In many cases to correct or add some text. It is also great for merging PDF files and for some printers with special configuration, there are plugins to facilitate the desired printing.
  • Edit PDF files
  • Merge files into PDF
  • Encript PDF files
  • Sign or require signature in PDF files
  • Create forms
  • User interface
  • The text editing tool
  • Price
Having a tool like Adobe Acrobat is important for an office that works with a high volume of documents, more specifically, with PDF files. In many cases it makes it easier for you to put together employee or client files. Having the tool you can easily merge these files, add notes to these documents, and you can also automate processes by creating forms.

We use Acrobat on a daily basis. My job is art director. After I've designed a piece, I create a PDF to send to the marketers for review and markup. I receive the PDF back with their edits and comments. Another useful feature is the ability to make interactive PDFs with live links and fillable forms. Finally, when a job is complete and approved, we send high resolution PDFs to the printer and it's very efficient to have all fonts and imaged embedded in one file. This program is invaluable to our agency. I have always found it to work seamlessly, contributing to a smooth workflow in our company.
  • high or low resolution proofs for editing or printing
  • ability to create fillable forms
  • ability to create digital PDFs with live links
  • ability to edit text within the application
  • it would be nice if images were editable in the application
  • can you embed video?
  • can you embed audio?
We use it for creating proofs and final high rez files to go to press. Occasionally we have imported it as a placed image in inDesign, but I don't think that is the best use of a PDF.

I use Adobe Acrobat to access PDF documents, create them, compress them, and adapt them. Acrobat has been an essential part of my business operations in day-to-day work and for the delivery of finished products for clients. The ability to subtly edit documents and combine multiple documents into a single PDF has made my work much easier over the years.
  • Open and Edit PDF Files.
  • Create New PDF Files From Other File Types.
  • Combine Existing PDF Files Into a New Document.
  • Edit Page Order Within PDF Files.
  • Compress PDF Files.
  • PDF Content Editing Can Still Be Somewhat Clunky.
  • Compression Tools While Functional Could Be Much More Robust.
  • In My Opinion, Acrobat Should Be a Free App Within the Adobe Suite.
Acrobat is amazing at creating and handling PDF files, which are primarily used to package completed content for distribution and/or printing. Acrobat lacks a more robust ability to adapt content or create new content within existing documents. Acrobat is best utilized for finalized content that you intend to package for distribution.

I use the Creative Cloud version of Acrobat to read PDFs. One thing I really like to use Acrobat for is combining PDF documents or editing them and removing pages from the PDFs. It's very useful when you're using it for the right reasons. Another thing I like is converting the PDF to a Word document so others can fill in their own writing.
  • Access / read PDFs
  • Edit PDFs
  • Convert PDFs
  • Maintain the layout when converting; sometimes, it loses the layout, and things are misaligned.
  • This makes it easier to write in custom text on a PDF, but sometimes I have to convert it from a PDF to a doc to achieve.
  • Menu could be easier to find things.
I don't have many reasons not to use Acrobat when using PDFs. It's certainly the go-to. I recommend using the Creative Cloud paid plan through Adobe instead of the free version. You get a lot more features.

We use Adobe Acrobat to share documents that have been completed in other programs that others do not have access to or should not be able to edit. It provides a consistent and professional platform for sharing documents of all kinds via email, marketing automation programs, media management tools, and our website.
  • It allows us to share and collaborate documents created in programs such as InDesign, Photoshop and others that the average person does not traditionally have acess to.
  • It's an excellent way to share and e-sign agreements and other documents
  • It allow us to share very large file sizes in a condensed document
  • The UI is overdue for some significant more user friendly updates
  • It feels like Acrobat has become bloated and sometimes runs slow on equipment that should be up to the tasks.
  • If you have the free version of Acrobat on your computer it will sometimes default to that no matter what steps you take to make sure it always opens in Pro.
It's great as a universal platform for sharing completed documents created in other software, specifically if you would prefer they are not easily edited by the recipient. It's also very useful for e-signing and sharing agreements. While editing document is possible in Acrobat Pro it is generally best, easier, and less frustrating to make the edits in the source file and recreate the PDF file after the edits have been made.

In the real estate and mortgage business we utilize Acrobat for nearly everything from writing letters of explanation which require signatures, to opening documents the client sends us in a pdf format. The security features which limit any editing, the search functions if I'm looking for certain items within a document, and the ability to send documents over for signature/review via my cell phone makes my job a lot quicker and easier for myself and my clients. Being able to transfer a Word document to Adobe is paramount to our business.
  • Great for searching for key words in a large document without having to read the entire document
  • security features allowing both edits and the inability to edit
  • request for signatures are super easy
  • ability to organize pages in various orders
  • If an edit needs to be made, being better at identifying the text font as sometimes the font is mismatched
  • Cost can be high for one user, especially if you are just using the basic functions
  • Cell phone use is not as user friendly as desktop
To be frank, there really is not other program that compares to Adobe. It's perfect for office work, contracts, flyers, essentially anything you need that you want to present in a formal fashion. Just being able to convert a word document or excel sheet to a pdf makes that document 100% more professional. I cannot think of any instance where it would be less appropriate.

We use Adobe Acrobat for almost all of our sales and legal documents. We are especially grateful for the tools that allow us to modify a template document to make it applicable to each individual use. The alerts for issues and the ability to make notes and track changes is also very helpful. We also use the export of various PDF's to other programs frequently. Overall, we trust and use Adobe Acrobat daily.
  • Permitting modifications to template document
  • Exporting/Importing Documents to and from Adobe
  • Highlighting potential spelling issues
  • Formatting is done easily
  • Export of Signatures and Signature blocks
  • Incorporating different programs, Word, Excel into same pdf document
We use Adobe to lock down final issued agreements, and DocuSign uses an Adobe output for our permeant records.

We send almost all documents as an Adobe version.

We depend on Adobe to handle the conversion of other formatted documents into an Adobe format.

Even our invoicing uses the Adobe format for producing the invoice sent by e-mail.

I am the lead designer at American Medicals and utilize Adobe Acrobat daily to create fillable forms for my company supervisors. It also comes in handy for making quick edits to an existing PDF!
  • Editing PDF files
  • Making PDF's fillable
  • Viewing/ Reading PDF files
  • The Edit Object tool isn't very precise making it difficult to manipulate certain elements of a PDF
  • Edit Document Text will only work if text is very clear and the font is familiar. It would be nice if it could decipher more.
  • Some documents won't render correctly when exported as an Excel Document.
We use Adobe Acrobat the most when we have to change a regular PDF into a editable form. Most times it is when the VA sends us documents that can not be written on or scanned. We will convert the document to a fillable PDF and make our edits that way as to keep within government guidelines.

Reviewing and comparing contracts.
  • Combine files
  • Organizing pages
  • Import/Export of pdf
  • Commenting
  • Editing
  • File comparison
This was the original program to open and edit pdfs. Recent updates have only made the program worse in my opinion. Adobe Acrobat needs to seriously go back to the fundamentals and stop moving around the interface and calling it an update. Organizing pages and combining files into PDF is done well.. They have ruined commenting and editing files in my opinion. On top of it, the program is a memory hog and tends to slow most computers to a crawl when doing file comparisons I've found. File comparison has not changed in at least the 8 years I have been heavily using. It does pick up changes in two files, but the way they have chosen to display is cluttered and difficult to view and assess in my opinion. They would do well to allow more filtering of the changes so you can see only some changes at a time. Scrolling through pages in comparison view always is chunky and slows computer to a crawl making it a frustrating experience in my opinion. To give Adobe Acrobat the benefit of the doubt, I have yet to find a program that does this well. If I do, I will switch immediately. With AI tech - this would be a good place to start and improve the software and actually make it worth the high price.

I use this program to read and edit pdfs with my third party vendors. This allows me to work quickly and efficiently when I’m in my office or traveling for work. Being able to quickly get work done and have all my information in one place is great. Contracts, event prospectus and data sheets are made easier to work with.
  • Allowing input of answers to questions
  • Allows for easy updating current internal documents
  • Sometimes it doesn’t auto find input boxes
  • An auto save feature would be nice
The tool is easy to use and makes documents easier to read and interact with. This keeps the pdf clean so there’s no guesswork with the information like you would have with handwriting. I feel other programs could be better when it comes to picture manipulation.

We use it in many ways - for professional documents, and personal. Many times I need to merge documents and edit part of the file. Adobe Acrobat makes it so much easier to make these changes. You can scan them into the files and edit with Adobe Acrobat in a simple step or two compared to other programs.
  • Merging
  • Adding - Removing Pages
  • Saving files with ease
  • Certain areas of the pages are not easily edited, if you want to clip out a part and enter manually or change verbiage it selects the entire amount and you cannot edit one line.
  • Quicker pdf generation
  • The insert option should include a pdf
Yesterday I had to remove 2 pages from a 33 page document and replace with others, it worked so seemlessly I was shocked. Changing a pdf to a word file is amazing, little quirks but overall the best there is out there. I have used many pdf programs and this one by far is the best.

I use Adobe Acrobat on a daily basis. We manage large educational books and other literature and Adobe Acrobat allows us to use "edit .pdf" without opening each and every individual file to do so. This is a real time-saver for us. When we submit art for review, several marketing specialists and/or managers will ask specifically for a .pdf file to share with their client to gather their feedback. Adobe Acrobat is easily opened by most and can also gather notes, comments. I'd have a very hard time getting my job done without access to Adobe Acrobat.
  • Easily opened by most users
  • Ability to "edit .pdf"
  • Combine, rearrange, delete and/or add pages
  • I have a hard time "scrolling" multiple pages at times
  • Some comments are hidden when a .pdf file is just "opened" from a server, or webdam
  • I'd love to be able to take an entire screenshot of an email for proofing!
Adobe Acrobat is very useful when editing existing .pdf files for simple edits. Adobe Acrobat has the ability to add, delete, move pages around. Adobe Acrobat gives the user the ability to add comments, etc. to a .pdf. Adobe Acrobat would not, or should not, be used to edit a source art file.

We use Adobe Acrobat for PDF creation, manipulation, combination, modification, and e-signatures. We have had as many as 30 seats at times but have reduced recently for other products in the AEC industry. Although Adobe Acrobat is still prevalent, I truly believe a refresh is desperately needed, especially in the areas of the Cloud and update delivery and notification.
  • Create PDFs
  • Combine PDFs
  • Modify PDFs
  • Speed
  • Reliability
  • Cloud delivery
I believe Adobe Acrobat still does a good job at creating PDFs whether it be directly printing or through the application interface. Adobe Acrobat has not kept up in the AEC industry especially when it comes to project tracking and forwarding of signed or modified documents. I think project flow needs allot of work to keep up with competition.

I use Adobe Acrobat to format correspondence and edit spreadsheets on a daily basis. Also, being able to convert files into PDF form is extremely helpful! The ease of use is a very attractive quality. I like that you don't have to be a computer wiz in order to take advantage of all of the useful features that Adobe Acrobat offers.
  • Editing text within a document
  • The ability to create forms that allow you to edit fields
  • If you encounter a webpage that may be difficult to view, like an HTML, Adobe Acrobat can convert it
  • Some of the features I'd like to have are only available if you purchase the upgrade.
  • Editing scanned documents doesn't always work properly
  • The ability to customize the font size would be helpful.
Most of the correspondence that I receive is in PDF form. Adobe Acrobat Reader allows me to read it without a problem. Also, a lot of documents that I create are in Microsoft Word form. When I need to convert these files into PDF, Adobe Acrobat makes it so simple.

Adobe is used daily. We have a lot of designs that go out to subcontractors and other people. I have to make sure that the documents are not easily modified as well since there are numerous vendors who I do not know personally. Thus with this it is very difficult for anyone to change it without having the correct program.
  • Edit objects
  • Edit text
  • Delete and modify design
  • Expense
  • Features hard to maneuver
  • Not able to buy - must have a subscription
I need to design flyers regularly and I am NOT an artist. Nor am I artistic. I am able to use adobe to generate a specific design and then rework it to my needs. I can do this easily and without frustration. If I was an artist then this may not be the best program. But I am able to put together snappy documents and flyers with this.

We use it to convert PDFs to word documents mainly as there are lots of policies that get created here that need amending quite often.

We also use it to save PDF images in different file formats, and also to edit both shared and confidential documents.

It is something that we use almost daily.
  • Clear and concise interface
  • Quick and easy to use
  • Very user friendly
  • Larger buttons
  • nothing
  • nothing
I think it's perfect for what we use it for.

As an organisation, we deal with a lot of documents that are PDF only, and therefore it's a necessity that we can both edit and amend these, and also convert PDFs to other types of file.

I wouldn't have any room for improvement really.

I use Acrobat Acrobat primarily to preflight client submitted PDF files for color separations, to create interactive forms, and to extract elements or pages for publication assembly. It's not a great tool for editing: the best way to edit a PDF is to make the changes in the original software that made it, be that Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop or whatever you've used to create the PDF, but for simple edits, such as changing a date, correcting a misspelled word, or deleting unwanted elements, it's sufficient. It's also valuable for setting up security when sending proofs to new clients, in order to prevent them from casually using proofs as artwork, and you can password protect features such as editing and printing resolution. Another nice feature which I find myself using a lot, is editing of scanned text; Adobe Acrobat works as good if not better in a lot of cases at converting scanned text to editable text than even some dedicated OCR software that I've used, and that can be a time saver.
  • Preflighting
  • OCR
  • PDF Security
  • Editing is rather weak
  • Form field creation can be a bit tedious
  • Ruler 0 point repositioning would be nice
Acrobat Acrobat is a valuable tool to use specifically for prepress applications as a quick way to look at how many colors are in a PDF, such as: Is it 4 color process? Are there spot colors? Is there a combination of both? Are the fonts embedded? All things a prepress engineer needs to know, and Acrobat Acrobat does it will without launching more sophisticated prepress or preflighting applications.

Beyond the need to read PDF files, we use Adobe Acrobat for the Sign capabilities to manage paperless workflow and security. Some have the ability to use the edit feature to open and edit existing PDF files. It has been a wonderful tool for workflow.
  • Document workflow for signatures and forwarding
  • Creates beautiful PDF documents
  • Allows editing of existing PDF files which saves staff time
  • The licensing is quite expensive limiting the number of people with access within our organization
  • Sometimes it is challenging to figure out what icons to click to enable editing of an existing document
It is wonderful for our administrative staff to be able to route documents for signature and provide feedback if a document is 'stuck' in someone's inbox. It would be helpful if reminders could be sent if signatures have not. been provided. It is not really a word processor so it should not be used to create every document needed in the workplace.

I use Adobe Acrobat to create fliers and link them to our website. I also use Adobe Acrobat to edit PDF's, and for DocuSign. It is also a tool that makes it easy for me to share files with others in my organization for proof reading purposes.
  • Editing PDFs
  • Annotating changes
  • signing documents with docusign
  • excellent print quality
  • web hosting documents and fliers
  • Navigation on the editing side can be confusing
  • It can be difficult matching fonts
  • When linking docs within a PDF, I can't navigate back to the main page without
  • Linked docs in a PDF do not open in a new window
Adobe Acrobat is a must for sharing documents internally. The docusign function also helps, especially now that many companies have remote workers. The ease of docusign and PDF is fantastic. Also, the print quality of fliers is phenomenal. I'm not a graphic deisgner, but Adobe Acrobat allows me to create files that are pretty high quality.

I work for a commercial construction company and we use Adobe Acrobat for multiple purposes. We use it to read blueprints mostly. We can send our and receive quotes, drawings, and documents. The Adobe Acrobat pro version is used to sign contracts as well as to modify and edit blueprints.
  • Edting

  • send and receive files that can not be edited by others
  • some files do not always save in a correct format from Microsoft word
  • some files do not always save in a correct format from Microsoft excel

As an instructional designer, I’ve used Acrobat to create interactive learning interactions. This allows us to create documents that are tailored to the needs of our various programs and learners. The features in the Pro edition allows us to edit previously created PDFs and customize for a specific purpose, essentially providing enterprise templates we can adjust accordingly.
  • Provide efficiency
  • Allow the creation of tailored content
  • Provide flexibility for the type of content we create
  • Combining files can be a cumbersome process
  • Creating documents from scratch can be overwhelming; having some templates would be ideal
  • Creating customized forms is an arduous process
Adobe is the standard for making professional static content and applying parameters for how content in documents are accessed. The security features are top notch and pretty resistant to manipulation once set properly. But for a quicker turnaround or for the novice document processor, interacting with the product can be time consuming.

Used to edit business documents upon demand when in PDF format. Also use for exporting PDF documents to other formats when required. I use Acrobat on at least a daily basis for this. Acrobat is also used to edit scanned documents when the individual text in the scan needs to be identified.
  • Recognising text in scanned documents
  • Handling images in scanned documents
  • Exporting to other formats
  • When deleting elements of the document it could be easier to reposition other elements.
  • Compression could be a bit better although it is pretty good.
Useful for all businesses where documents may be scanned and then need editing in the future as it handles text recognition very well.
Useful for small business where a simple way to read, edit and export PDF documents is required.
Useful for companies that find the features of the browser PDF viewer to be too limited.
