I use the Creative Cloud version of Acrobat to read PDFs. One thing I really like to use Acrobat for is combining PDF documents or editing them and removing pages from the PDFs. It's very useful when you're using it for the right reasons. Another thing I like is converting the PDF to a Word document so others can fill in their own writing.
  • Access / read PDFs
  • Edit PDFs
  • Convert PDFs
Cons
  • Maintain the layout when converting; sometimes, it loses the layout, and things are misaligned.
  • This makes it easier to write in custom text on a PDF, but sometimes I have to convert it from a PDF to a doc to achieve.
  • Menu could be easier to find things.
I don't have many reasons not to use Acrobat when using PDFs. It's certainly the go-to. I recommend using the Creative Cloud paid plan through Adobe instead of the free version. You get a lot more features.

Making documents accessible for a screen reader as well as making items fillable for staff. I just love the features offered in Adobe Acrobat pro. If there is something needing to be converted it’s so easy to change a word to a pdf
  • Accessibility
  • Fillable forms
  • Creating from other programs
Cons
  • Easier use of the accessibility features
  • Feature descriptions
  • Labeling of features to make it easier to distinguish what it offers
I use the pro version and have been able to help staff with ensuring items don’t move around by switching the format from word or excel into adobe pdf.

I use Adobe Acrobat DC for easy transfer of proposals to donors. I know that what the proposal looks like for me will be the same as what they see no matter what type of computer they use. We also use it for easy signatures on documents. It is a great program for so many businesses uses.
  • Ensures that others see the document the same way
  • Makes routing for signatures easy
  • Allows for easy commenting and editing between users
Cons
  • Not everything is intuitive
I have only used Adobe Acrobat Pro in a nonprofit setting - but I see how it could be very useful in any business setting.

Acrobat DC Pros/Cons

Adobe Acrobat DC remains to be the best PDF editor in my whole career. It brings a lot of features to the table and even though it may seem a lot to use it firsthand, the interface of the software guides the user of its functions. If you're looking for a simple, straightforward PDF editor, Adobe Acrobat DC is for you. Our team's document controller uses this to streamline our workflows and processes. It's integration with other Adobe products and cloud services also promotes productivity within the design teams, project management teams, and procurement teams.
  • PDF editing
  • Document Controls
  • Password Protection
  • Cloud-based services
  • Integration with other Adobe products
Cons
  • Too much information all at once.
  • Expensive
  • Short Trial Period
Usability. Adobe Acrobat DC is best known for its user interface. It has been able to establish itself as enhanced usability of this product. Return of investment, faster speed in pdf processing. The product is highly secure and may be provided with password protection. It increases the proficiency of its users over time.

The cloud-based service helps our work from home staffs manage the documents remotely. The document control team uses this to streamline the ongoing workflows with the design team and the client's teams.

Sending documents to coworkers. I compile a lot of separate PDF's which is a feature I love.
  • The PDF compile feature is done well.
  • Editing a PDF inside Acrobat is also a favorite.
  • AI assistant is new and so far I like it for shortening text in a document.
Cons
  • Compiling documents together even if they are not PDF would be nice.
  • It would be nice to find tutorials for new options.
When I am getting multiple PDF documents from multiple people and I need to compile them and summarize them.
