I started using Adobe Captivate Prime last year in order to create course content for students in synchronous and asynchronous learning models. Currently I also use it to create online workshops for teachers. So far it has helped create interactive materials for both teachers and students alike. We are currently reviewing it to see if it will continue to be used next school year.
  • AI-based personalization--this is very useful and time-saving when creating content.
  • Gamification--it keeps users engaged and competitive.
  • Social learning--users can interact in discussions and learn from each other.
  • The price is a little high compared to other LMS
  • It would be beneficial to have an automatic spell-check in multiple languages since I rely on Grammarly and this is often inaccurate.
  • We have been relying Zoom this year and I don't see any integration for it.
This is a great LMS for bigger teams and companies looking to engage their users in interactive courses. At present, I work for an international school and I primarily use it for my students. It has been helpful in closing the gap between online and in-person users, as it comes with engaging and interactive tools.

It's used on an individual basis depending on the project I've been worked on. Mostly we use it for the product training for the employees of our company. It is really simple to use and helps in addressing the problem in an easy way.
  • Better options of use
  • Simple layout for strong understanding
  • User friendly
  • Need more responsive themes
  • Can get slow sometimes
  • Needs text to speech improvements
Adobe Captivate is ideal for working on small and medium projects which makes it supportive for new users. If working on big projects, Adobe Captivate is less appropriate and less likely to be used. Its responsive design and ability to convert PowerPoint presentations into eLearning courses makes it the best tool out there.

Our non-profit has two primary services, a professional training workshop for oncology professionals who want to learn how to use our group support program for children who have a parent and the six-week support group itself, called CLIMB®, Children's Lives Include Moments of Bravery. Because of COVID 19 and the vulnerability of cancer patients during this pandemic, we have been forced to move both programs online. Adobe Captivate Prime is the LMS we have chosen for this delivery.
  • Price.
  • Customer support.
  • Administrator, instructor, learner interface is not intuitive.
  • Semantics get in the way of finding solutions.
  • The black look of the software is off-putting.
  • Not being able to re-name an existing course is a true weakness of the system.
  • Our ZOOM integration is not working, however, support is working with us to solve this problem.
The price for our non-profit makes it affordable and customer support, so far, is quick and helpful. Overall I find the system not very user friendly.

We use Captivate Prime as a tool for hosting online workshops, conferences and more across our whole organization. It easily allows us to take our registered list of all participants for a specific event/workshop/etc. and get them into the LMS system for that specific event. Now, each participant has a 'digital-home' so to speak for each of our events, where they can access all supporting materials, PDFs, videos, schedules, presenter info and so on. We have not yet starting using it for internal employee training, but we have plans to create an internal on-boarding experience within the system to be utilized in the future for new hires.
  • Captivate Prime has a nice look and should be easy enough for most computer users to navigate quickly and effectively. I like its functionality a lot. It has a nice clean modern design and is fairly easy to navigate and understand right after jumping on in.
  • Creating truly interactive training courses. With the use of imagination captivate prime allows for high level customization and design of interactive learning.
  • Being able to set user roles so specifically is great, changing the permissions of what each user is allowed to see/use in the system makes the system less confusing for my co-workers who do not need to utilize the admin role(s).
  • Getting started video tutorials.
  • Licensing options.
  • Takes a bit of upfront time to align all teams, participants etc.
  • More integration opportunities.
  • Price is a bit high for the size of our organization.
The catalog and course features are great. There is integration with external course catalogs. User groups can be assigned specific courses and shared with external user groups as well. It's nice that the Learner dashboard can be customized and it lets learners track progress, and deadlines. It works well on all browsers and the learner experience is good. The best feature is the ability to manage all formats of learning in one place. Virtual classroom, eLearning, and Instructor-led training. The learning can have a multi-format environment which is good.

We use Adobe Captivate Prime in various parts of the organization, especially in the field of education and research to produce electronic content and multimedia training.
  • Multimedia learning and production of content interactively and among multiple users
  • Ability to create virtual training courses with features such as questions and answers at the end of each lesson, review the lesson, remind user of the important points of the lesson
  • Ability to use PowerPoint application files in projects
  • Edit recorded videos--resize, resize, add another video
  • There is no automatic spellcheck; you have to remember to run a manual process
  • Stream support for video sharing sites
  • Ability to support font shapes of other languages
  • Can’t import PowerPoint slides and edit components in Adobe Captivate Prime
  • Imaging the environment of any application: recording and imaging of all activities, such as mouse movement and how the keyboard works
  • Edit recorded videos: resize, resize, add another video
  • Quickly build virtual quizzes and Q&As
  • Professional editable template
  • Extract texts in XML format
  • Drag-and-drop capability
  • Run in the browser environment to provide and access additional tools
  • Supports HTML5 content, convert PowerPoint documents directly to HTML5 with all the details
  • GIF format support
  • Compatible with most operating systems, especially Windows

I am an instructional designer and use Adobe Captivate Prime to build instructional modules for clients who are looking for a self-paced and self-checking online training solution. My clients use these modules for a variety of purposes, some for internal training and some for the services they provide for their clients. I love that Captivate Prime leaves the LMS management to someone else, as it allows my small business to focus on development and leaves the technical aspects of integration to the pros.
  • Self-checking assessment
  • Managed server solutions
  • Self-paced training
  • Integration support documentation for new users (how do I connect my learning modules to the serverside, with limited server experience)
Adobe Captivate Prime is great for companies that need to create self-paced learning courses for their employees or clients. It's optimal for companies who don't want to handle the server management on their own and/or need a cloud-based solution that works cross-platform.

Captivate Prime is less suited for companies who want to keep their training system server in-house and/or who operate with limited internet connectivity.

We are using Adobe Captivate Prime to house our training collateral. Currently Adobe Captivate Prime is being used internally by one department, but we have plans to open it up to other departments. Our training department is relatively new, about 3 years old, and we realized that we need some way of housing our training content and recording attendance. After reviewing a number of LMS systems, and talking to three companies, we decided on Adobe Captivate Prime, we felt it best fit our needs. We were already using Adobe Captivate to create courses, so it worked to use Captivate Prime for the LMS. We also use Adobe Connect to deliver our trainings, our company is remote, so all training is delivered remotely. Currently our plan is to use Adobe Captivate Prime for internal employees only, down the road, we may decide to open it up to customers. At this point, we've been using it for almost one year, and are starting to add even more content to our site.
  • Works well with Adobe Captivate.
  • Easy to set up a course, and update as needed.
  • Allows us to use content in more than one course, I like that we are building our content library.
  • We have spent time trying to create Learning Plans and Learning Programs. I know they will work, took us time to work on that though.
  • Would like an easier way to have courses reviewed, or if there is, an easier way to get others to review courses.
  • Would be nice if you can create a quiz inside of Captivate Prime. Currently we use Captivate or SurveyMonkey for our quizzes.
I think this is a pretty easy system to learn on your own, however there are some things that you do need some guidance on, like setting up Learning Programs and Plans. It is very easy to reorganize a course and republish. I do like how well it works with Adobe Captivate and Adobe Connect, that has been quite helpful to us.

I used Adobe Prime to create training programs for sales teams and customer success managers.
  • Showing training videos.
  • Hosting training documents.
  • Connecting to other Adobe tools.
  • Have better examples of how to use the tools together based on industry.
Some people believe it is the same as other training tools like Articulate...it is a great place to line up training videos and other content to add to training plans for different groups. If you have training programs made in other versions of Captivate, it works great with prime for a full solution for all your training content. But if you don't have any content, then you need to create some before you start using Adobe Captivate Prime.

Several departments use Adobe Captivate Prime, for different reasons. In my case, I develop training material globally in English and Spanish. I train about 100 people on some topic related to Internal Controls.
  • Accessibility
  • Animations
  • Easy to design
  • You need to study and read (this is not bad)
  • The training videos online are not very general
  • You need a training server it is hard to created standalone training materials that does not requires a training server
I think that there are limitless scenarios, I would say that limit is the imagination. It is will helpful to have a better site with better training material from Adobe

Adobe Captivate Prime is used in multiple departments across the company. It is used for internal employees who are in creative type roles within the organization.
  • It's a very versatile program.
  • It is easy to learn by just jumping in and playing around.
  • If you have experience with other adobe products, it's easy to learn others.
  • The only suggestion I have is to maybe offer more formal, instructor based training through Adobe so that you don't have to look for outside training resources. One on one training is always better than watching pre-recorded videos. We don't have the 100+ people learning to get the training direct from Adobe.
We really use it for a number of situations. It has worked well for our internal creative needs.

As an educator and lead support for teachers and education professionals, I am always looking for new, creative ways to engage participants in virtual classrooms. I have used Adobe Captivate Prime to create projects, quizzes, and other education material to freshen our material that has become stale and limited through Google Classroom.
  • Easy to use mobile apps that can be used on most mobile platforms, which is a must for learning in 2021.
  • Plenty of new, fresh features that are easy to navigate and useful. One of my favorites on my mobile app is the quick note taking feature.
  • The Learner dashboard is well laid out to have a full overview and can be customized to track progress and deadlines.
  • The best Search feature I’ve used.
  • The price is somewhat costly.
  • A subscription is required and a cancellation fee is applied if you want to before the end.
Adobe Captivate Prime is well suited for small teams or even larger organizations who are working on a long-term project to educate a group. This software allows for progress monitoring and tracking to meet goals. It allows users to be mobile and continue to work and stay connected at the same time.

We are using Adobe Captive Prime company wide. We are a small business and this product really helps us up our game. We use this to help clients understand our processes. We also use it internally for employee development. It creates a platform that is easy to use and in one location.
  • Easily manage content.
  • User friendly interface.
  • Training videos.
  • Would be good to have a step by step guide for those who don’t want to watch the videos.
  • It’s a little confusing at times.
  • Not budget friendly.
It is great for a company that has ongoing training needs. It would not be practical for a self employed individual. It makes tracking the progress of numerous individuals much easier. It would also be ideal for a company that has a lot of turnover because it’s easy to add new trainees to the program.

Adobe Captivate Prime is for the entire organization. It is an affordable tool for employee training management and assignment. We have our own LMS for external training/learning, the needs for internal and external training we realized are different. Adobe Captivate Prime better fits our internal training needs, to assign task, to track and report.
  • Report function is the number feature I like the most.
  • Different roles can sign in to manage different parts, works great for different supervision levels.
  • Also like the assigning feature, though there is room for improvement.
  • Assigning or managing training for new employees can be cumbersome.
  • Mapping out their current training record with a pre-determined skill inventory is not possible.
A great tool for internal training program management, as well as a hub to house training content for internal training. Fo the first one, due to the cumbersome scheduling feature. you may need another scheduling tool to supplement. Prime may also be great for external training programs, but we haven't tried out that scenario.

We train external clients using our content hosted on this LMS. The platform enables us to provide a reliable experience and is generally well suited to our needs. It has been improving since we deployed it and we have noticed better functionality. Our only criticism is that the quality of the support varies greatly from person to person.
  • Ease of use.
  • Branding.
  • Support.
We found that the administration was difficult to understand at the beginning. Lots of the training videos are out of date and do not help. Also enrollment was problematic as we had a lot of difficulty when users ran into problems.

Adobe Captive Prime is used by researchers and web developers in my particular company to increase productivity and offer new training pathways for employees. This program is mostly used for internal training. For the most part, this program is used only in specific areas of the company- primarily for systems support and IT.
  • I appreciated the Amazon infrastructure scalability that is associated with the program.
  • The programs easy-to-use single webpage layout makes creating courses easy and efficient.
  • I loved the fact that there were both online and offline platforms. This made employee certification process unique to the student.
  • There is the occasional device compatibility issue.
  • Difficult to monitor progress of employees in a course when there is a significant number of employees
  • Overall employee management tracking could be improved— do not want to download excel spreadsheets to track employees (why not integrate spreadsheet software into the system?)
I feel this product is well suited when a company needs to develop certifications and training modules for employees in a timely and effective manner. Overall, this product offers a wide variety of tools but the integrated management of employee tracking could be significantly improved. This way, third party apps would not be necessary.

We use Adobe Captivate Prime across our internal organization.
It is providing an LMS platform for our users across the business. We ensure learners are up to date on their required courses, as well as have an opportunity to engage in other courses.
We primarily use Adobe Captivate Prime for internal employee training, but we are also able to ensure external vendors can complete required training.
  • Learning programs - easy to customize for learner groups.
  • Content management - clear when the content is dated and who owns it.
  • Learner experience.
  • Reporting - so clunky, not intuitive.
  • Manager dashboard.
  • Instances vs. Audiences.
Adobe Captivate Prime is well suited for:
  • Straightforward content management.
  • eLearning course assignments to a large audience of learners.
  • Required trainings (eLearnings primarily).
  • Automated communication (via email notifications).

Adobe Captivate Prime is NOT well suited for:
  • Robust reporting needs or detailed dashboards for managers.
  • Complex org structures.

I currently use Captivate Prime to create learning programmes that are used by employees all across South Africa. This is specifically for customer training. The pandemic has forced us to move the majority of our training online, which means that oversight and the ability to track learners have become of the utmost importance. We find that our reporting structure has become much more robust.
  • Managing engagement.
  • Providing easy to publish content section.
  • Reporting.
  • I would love to be able to include an epub that tracks a users engagement and keep track of where they are.
  • I sometimes feel that we need more in-depth engagement reporting, e.g. duration spent on a specific piece of content.
  • The ability to link with live Zoom meetings.
It is well suited to areas where you want to inform and educate. Setting up specific courses, modules and even qualifications are easy. Testing also becomes easy.
It is not always well suited to classes that require collaboration. Here I am specifically referring to a course that requires classroom sessions where learners have to actively engage in content during a live session, in order to reach outcomes.

Used as a way of tracking and recording E-learning for organisations we consult with. We are effectively acting as a outsourced L&D function for the companies.
  • Ease of setup of courses.

It has helped my organization to use the portable document format accessible without any hassle. It is being used across all departments in Richards. Adobe Captivate addresses documents that are being transferred or sent to us via eFax or e-mail. The Adobe Captivate is also used for internal employee training and external customer training by fostering the relationships between clients representative and the office staff.

It is currently used for external training modules and will be used internally (at the company I am consulting at). We are creating SOPs that contain text, images, and videos. It is being used by all departments as each department has input into the training for internal and external customers.
  • Making a consistent looking set of materials/themes.
  • Ability to add images and video.
  • Ability to add quizzes.
  • For new users of Adobe products, there is a little bit of a learning curve and "fear factor" in using this application.
The ability to produce a great-looking and easy-to-use set of training materials has made us look very professional. It appears to scale well and I especially like how it interfaces well with other Adobe products. Once you are able to do the basics as a developer, seeing examples of what other companies are doing with this then allows us to continue to add to our features.

I have recently downloaded a version of Adobe Captivate Prime to try it and see whether it could be extensively used within our organization. And it revealed to be a powerful tool to work with, only our systems required some more updates before this could turn an effective LMS. Besides, we were to hold some sessions to inform the target audience how to uses the features.
It was a good start a few months ago, then we had to put the project on hold due to the current pandemic. That has been since last April.
Overall, we would have better feedback as soon as the actual situation would allow us resuming operations in the training department.
  • Sessions management.
  • Trainers are offered many options for a better course content creation, such as docs that could be edited from Adobe CC suite.
  • Who's on top of the list! I love this feature, it shows dedicated and engaged employees.
  • So far, we have little to add to this section.
We would love to have a more tailored tool that targets specific training organizations, i.e. include typical trainings that are often mandatory in similar fields.

I use Adobe Captivate Prime for an online course in design and development. Mostly it is used to improve the interactivity of students.
  • I like to choose appropriate figures and they can be used to help me create scenario-based questions.
  • User-friendly interface
  • Responsive design, which makes our students/faculty get access to the course using various devices without a problem.
  • The trigger window is not on the same page as the slides and the objects, which is not convenient.
  • It would be great if more readymade template available for use (Storyline 360 has a lot of templates for download and use, which is nice).
The trigger window is not on the same page as the slides and objects, so I have to open it separately, which is not as convenient as Storyline 360.
