Product Details

What is Adobe Connect?

Adobe Connect is a web conferencing platform that provides standard features like video, audio, screen-sharing, polls, chat, Q&A, and document transfers, as well as the ability for users to create presentations, online training materials, and learning modules.

The product is entirely Adobe Flash-based and has several add-ons for customizing its software to suit each users’ unique needs. Some extensions that are available include, but are not limited to, Closed Captioning support, Word Cloud (for visualizing live discussions), and MP3 player for adding music to users’ meeting rooms.

Users can create or style their own meeting room layouts which can be saved. They can also add multiple chat pods, polls, quizzes, simulations, breakout rooms, HD video, and games to make meetings and online conferencing more interactive. Additionally, Adobe Connect allows for presenters and hosts to utilize a “virtual backstage” to chat and collaborate outside of the main meeting or conference. It also allows for users to go into a “preparation mode” to make adjustments right before or during a session.



Pricing for Adobe Connect Meetings ranges from $50/mo up to $370/mo. Additional webinar capabilities through Adobe Connect Webinar ranges $140/mo to $580/mo, from a webinar with 100 participants to one with up to 1000 participants.

  • Adobe is a communication platform that has benefited us as it allows us to "transact" our meetings. Without it or a similar platform, we could not host our meetings at all.
  • Adobe requires many manual steps to share a webinar or something from the archive. The process is cumbersome for the user and could be improved.
  • In our organization, the leadership roles change sometimes annually. There has been an issue with the NAME on the account being "married" to the original user rather than to the organization. This fact is problematic as it reflects a person at login that is no longer with the organization. It is also difficult to change admin settings for leadership changes. In an ever-moving organization, we would like these features improved without compromising security.

  • We did not have to pay for as much employee travel since communication could be carried out over long distances with this software.
  • Many people could receive training at one time/in one virtual meeting.
  • Employees could also receive additional, on-demand support with ease, since major travel arrangements were not needed to access colleagues.

  • Our clients love it and our consultants struggle with any other tool.
  • Lack of reporting can be a drag because finding who attended what event is necessary, especially if a client complains about services. Tracking attendance can help in those client discussions.
  • We simply couldn't offer a year of collaborative learning with a group of clients if we didn't have cumulative meeting rooms.

  • Positive: Creation of Video Catalogue for existing customers.
  • Helps customer retention through nurturing and providing of content that is easily catalogued.
  • Positive: Links for sales & customer service.
  • Rooms and layouts can be styled and cloned easily. This saves time and ensures that content is always available once it has been created. Definitely helps to add to the bottom line through the professionalism.
  • Negative: Use of some PowerPoint presentations and LeadGen webinars.
  • Some presentations fail and partially load for no apparent reason. Has meant that some webinars weren't as fluid as we liked and time lost to figure out the issues.
  • Negative: API with Marketo.
  • The syncing of information between AdobeConnect and Marketo is not entirely reliable. Of 100 leads, about 40 will synced, where the last 60 will have to be manually checked and converted. This means that a CSV file is pulled from Adobe and also from Marketo, where every signup is then cross verified manually. Extremely time consuming.
  • Negative: Can't use KeyNotes.
  • Means that some presentations have to be converted to ensure usage. Animations are lost and other design elements.

  • RVIBE has helped our clients achieve 70-80% ROI on their virtual meetings using Adobe Connect over travel.
  • The most important metric is not ROI but time out of field. If you can keep them home they will more likely be happier and they won't loose that valuable time in the field which could trump ROI.
  • With all that money saved clients are able to have more touch points with the field. RVIBE designs with pre-launch and 30/60/90 day touch point meetings where feedback is most important.
  • Mundane HR information for new hires is made more interesting with RVIBE and Adobe Connect. If it's interesting it will likely be remembered longer term.
  • Adobe Connect Platinum Service is top notch and always available.

  • The leads we get from marketing events are better qualified when we use the webinar module because we can customize the registration forms and see from where the leads were generated.

  • Travel Avoidance: Because of Adobe Connect's quality and breadth of features, activities usually relegated strictly to classrooms, including skill practices, small group breakouts, and moderated individual work, can all be accomplished with Adobe Connect. This takes the typical travel Avoidance ROI rationale and puts it on steroids -- when you realize you don't need to go anywhere anymore and still can do a great job.
  • Time to productivity: Adobe Connect lets you reach your audiences at time of need, reducing time to productivity. Many customers with high growth and high turnover environments (call centers, customer support, seasonal needs, ACA scale up initiatives at BCBS organizations, to name a few) have found that by using Adobe Connect you can meet the need for knowledge transfer much faster -- and this reduced time to productivity has a big impact in gained productivity and avoided costs.
  • Other solutions waste a bunch of time. For example, because Adobe Connect uses "persistent rooms" (the rooms you build stay just as you left them) you never have to waste your time re-building before a meeting. People generally find this saves them 5 - 15 minutes, personally, per meeting. That is time you can be using to conduct another meeting.
  • Participants don't have to download things to participate. This is huge. Many times, with other products people slot a hour meeting but plan only 45 or 50 minutes of content because they aren't sure how long it will take their participants to download the plug ins, install everything, and get through security hoops. Consider what the COST of that is in an organization using a product all day long -- if everyone at every meeting has, essentially 10 minutes in every hour where they're waiting for the meeting to be ready. that is EXPENSIVE. With Adobe Connect, you hit the meeting link and bam -- you're in the session. This gives you the full hour for your one hour meetings.

  • We turned what was formerly an annual mini-conference into a series of webinars, allowing us and our members to save on meeting and travel expenses.
  • We have added value to our members' experience, because we can now offer many virtual opportunities year-round as opposed to only during live events throughout the year. The visual and interactive elements of a webinar make them more attractive as a learning experience than a simple teleconference. And because the webinars are recorded, members can view them at their leisure.
  • We've been able to expand what we offer to our chapters in terms of support from the national office, and we've given them an additional means of delivering professional development opportunities to their local members.
