Major problem with email editor.

- Great tool for providing fine-grained control and segmenting email marketing lists.
- Excellent complex Boolean logic (if this and this, but not this).
Cons
- Major problems with email editor. The tool is not sophisticated enough for our needs, so we use an external editor for composing emails / managing email templates etc. however, the Marketo editor is designed for people who do not work with a 3rd-party editor but do everything in the tool. It does not handle this external content well. Once it has been imported, it overwrites the text version with HTML code. There is a workaround for this, but it’s clunky.
- Editor changes text size and adds spaces.
- Does not handle tokens (personalized content) well – inserts %20 in place of tokens.
- Editor is very slow.

We use Marketo across our entire organization. We use it for B2B and B2C email campaigns. Marketo helps us track engagement and manage our reporting. Most of our campaigns are batch and blast, and we could do a lot more to make use of the metrics within Marketo. I'd also love to convince our organization to upgrade to the Marketo Emails editor 2.0.
- Marketo provides us with a quick tool for creating forms and LP's.
- We track open/click rates.
- We host a ton of images in Marketo.
Cons
- Marketo can run a bit slow across the organization
- The interface is a bit clunky, and not very user intuitive
- The WYSIWYG is not very good

Marketo is used within the marketing department including the sales development team and global marketing managers. It enables us to centrally and holistically manage customer and prospect interactions leading to better qualified marketing leads. Ultimately, we can measure our marketing investments against our marketing activities to ensure our performance is optimized.
- Relatively easy to use. Great interface.
- Marketo actively listens to customers and works to make the system better by practicing continuous improvement.
- Their Launchpoint partners and API enables Marketo to connect to a wide variety of other applications, in addition to a CRM, that enables it to act as the central tool for capturing customer interactions to better understand where prospective customers are in their buying process.
Cons
- The email editor needs a lot of work for which Marketo is actively building a solution.
- Responsive landing pages without the need to create multiple versions.

Marketo is used by the marketing team to manage email segmentation, list management, deployment and tracking. We also use it to build and track landing pages.
- The SmartLists allow users to create dynamic lists that update based on user behavior.
- The activity log gives a history of engagement at the lead level.
- There are many templates available to build professional pages and emails easily.
Cons
- The unsubscribe process is more confusing than it should be.
- There is no native functionality to deploy abandoned cart emails.
- There should be an easier way to plot out and visualize campaigns.
