I mainly use the platform to manage leads and to integrate the data with other platforms. I particularly like operating in the cloud and the filters allowing to distribute our leads in different sectors according to the criteria. I would advise to increase the performance of the platform and to collapse/expand the tool according to the department needs as sometimes is like a Swiss Army Knife with every utensil opened.

  • High level of customisation with SFDC
  • Support is usually responsive in 1/2 days
Cons
  • Cloud I/O performance
  • Big lag from the moment of accessing the elements until the moment it is shown (i.e. smart campaigns, lists, etc)
  • Its design is stuck in the 80s with very low res icons and outdated palette
  • Its pricing depends on lead base and functionality but some of the functions come by default even if they are not needed/used at all.
Marketo is powerful in its automations, reporting and landing page/email creation. It is well suited if the company is willing to invest to explore the most of the tool and to hire specialists (at a plus).
For other companies where there is not a big emphasis on driving recourses (people and costs) to Marketo itself or there is no need of using all the functionalities, Marketo can be quite expensive and as it not too user friendly on many aspects (for example, lack of ability of creating visual flows as Pardot has).

Marketo is our go-to marketing tool. It's how we orchestrate every campaign. Every lead generated in marketing goes through Marketo - whether it be from events, webinars, advertising, web traffic. Wherever the lead is generated - it flows through Marketo and is routed appropriately. Every system we purchase has to integrate with Marketo as it is our single source of truth.
  • Strong turnkey integrations with other enterprise systems
  • Super robust platform - great resources for support
Cons
  • Complex with all its features - not as user-friendly for those newer to the platform
  • Email templates not easy to customize
Marketo is great for enterprise B2B companies with large contact databases and with the need for lead routing / scoring, etc. The processes and integrations that Marketo can power are unparalleled. The templates for emails and landing pages aren't as easy to customize design-wise as I'd like them to be, but overall Marketo is a total powerhouse that helps us achieve our overall revenue goals.

Marketo is used as a lead management system. It provides all requisite lead information, and also allows for lead scoring - an essential part of the client business model to determine selling/conversion strategies. It is used across the whole organization, with different departments requiring different elements of Marketo's functionality: as a data analyst, I rely on Marketo's ability to capture passed UTM parameters to identify the origination of a lead. Additionally, with the inclusion of lead scoring, I help guide the sales team priorities and resources to optimize return.

Marketo is well suited for a mid to large size business that's looking for a comprehensive solution to aggregate, store, and export leads, contact information, etc. It integrates readily with a number of platforms and can receive/store custom parameters passed from landing pages, ad campaigns, and retail platforms. It has a powerful data export, but can - unfortunately - take some time to produce a CSV. The smartlist reporting is an excellent feature: it basically is a GUI to create a SQL query of the entire lead database -- it allows the creation of custom reports for continual access or export.

Marketo is used in our organization to generate content and track leads using smart lists. It is primarily used by the marketing department, and we communicate the information gathered to sales and business development. It addresses our issues of creating a tailored list of leads to send out marketing materials, as well as content creation of making emails that can be sent to those smart list leads.
  • Ability to dive deep into filters and criteria for who you'd like to target
  • Great analytics for who has engaged with what content
  • Simple to use content creation platform for making email templates
Cons
  • User interface from Marketo to Marketo Sky is very different (Sky is much slicker)
  • Difficult to find specific assets within many folders and sub-folders
  • Not an immediately intuitive interface, with some onboarding sessions required
Marketo is well suited for sending out email alerts to a list of specific customers or prospects. It allows you to use many filters to decide who will receive said email, and can even stagger leads in qualification of receiving an email (E.G. if the recipient registers for the webinar in an email, they will not receive the follow-up a week later). It is well suited for marketing, but less suitable for business development or sales as their messaging is typically much more tailored.

Adobe Marketo Engage manages marketing programs efficiently. Adobe Marketo Engage focuses on email marketing. It stands out since it supplies a straghtforward means to monitor the introduction of new goods, locate prospetive consumers, and reach them. However, integrating an CRM improves productivity and guarantees perfect client information administration.
  • It doesn't need any extra third-party platforms to handle basic lead routing automation.
  • You have complete control over the details of your campaign.
  • The software's layout exudes simplicity.
Cons
  • Sometimes it lags.
  • More complicated setup and disorganization of lists.
It is suitable for complex features like as opt-in, data management, lead scoring, and lead lifecycle setup. It takes an excessive amount of time to process lists, smart campaigns, or segments. Also for more spontaneous email campaigns, I rely on Adobe Marketo Engage, which is great for organization. Once we started using Marketo for our marketing automation, we noticed an increase in the number of potential leads.
