Well suited: Advertising firm where graphics plays a huge role on day to day basis not sure where if less appropriate most jobs require some design experience

Many people within multiple departments at our company use Adobe Photoshop, from our creative team to productions and HR. As an event management, creative and production agency, Photoshop is used regularly to create internal communication and design assets, production assets for live events, and all creative assets for both virtual and live events.
  • It's an amazing design and photo editing tool
  • It has a lot of functionality
  • You can easily manage editing multiple documents simultaneously
  • It has so much functionality so can take a long time to learn the software.
  • They are always making updates to the software, which is great, but you have to be ready to always be learning new things about it.
  • It would be great if you could copy your editing settings for multiple documents.
Adobe Photoshop is a great tool for anyone who is in a creative role, or where you need creative assets for your work. It is a tool that has endless possibilities. It is great for photographers, designers, social media specialists, HR teams, etc. I highly recommend the product because of its vast functionality. However, if you are not going to be using it on a regular basis, it may not be the best solution because it is pricey. You may be better off using a tool like Canva in that case.

Adobe Photoshop is primarily used in preparing marketing collateral.
  • A wide variety of tools to create and edit imagery
  • Strong batching capabilities
  • Well established and knowledgable community
  • Flexible, able to fill many roles. Digital painting, photo editing, graphic design, etc.
  • It's powerful and robust nature makes it intimidating for new users
  • File sizes can get quite large
  • Expensive
It is the standard for all digital image manipulation. Graphic design, illustration, photography... all areas that Adobe Photoshop is an essential tool for. It is the standard in many industries for good reason, it performs tremendously. However, if you only need to edit an image occasionally, it might be overkill. You might be better suited with a simpler and cheaper option.

With the changing times, the authority of Adobe Photoshop is challenged by other software that provides features that are powerful and rich in utilities.
Increased competition has not affected Photoshop's popularity as most businesses and professionals still rely on it to fulfill their IMAGE EDITING needs. I am one of them who uses this software to make memes and high-quality compelling designs.
  • Photoshop is useful to recover old or damaged photos.
  • Surplus of state-of-the-art tools at your disposal.
  • Trivial editing can be done with ease.
  • Creativity can be fully unlocked with the built-in library of values.
  • It is easy to use, although its high professional level is quite complex and requires a lot of knowledge to be used correctly.
  • It is a relatively expensive tool compared to other photo editing software.
  • It is not easy to use, it requires prior learning.
  • It needs a cloud subscription for some features.
  • It is heavy and may be difficult to work with on some computers.
Despite suffering some downsides, Photoshop continues to dominate the graphics editing market with its powerful and contemporary tools. If you have great imagination skills, Photoshop will be an excellent assistant in the embodiment of the most daring ideas. You should try it.
But I think Photoshop has a lot of tools and it can confuse newbies. Consequently, it takes a lot of time to learn the whole features of Photoshop

We currently only utilize Adobe Photoshop in our marketing department. We supply other departments with material made in the program though. We mainly use Adobe Photoshop for print material, such as package inserts, flyers, catalogs, brochures, business cards, etc. and for digital advertising. Before we started becoming skilled in Adobe Photoshop, we relied heavily on free or very inexpensive programs like Canva.
  • Ability to create more elaborate designs
  • More options to customize for a more professional looking final product
  • Ability to export in higher quality
  • With many options and tools, the interface can be quite overwhelming
Adobe Photoshop has taken our companies' marketing material to the next level. It allows us to create exactly what we want, whereas before, we were limited in design types and quality. Adobe has also made our collaboration easier with our vendors, particularly our print company, so they are happier now as well.

Our team would create our own curriculum and student materials, workbooks, posters, as well as our own marketing materials, promotional materials, and more. To do this, we often used Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop to create our own images, edit others, and more for those documents.

We also took a lot of photographs of students and staff who came to our organization each week to capture their experience and photoshop was used as needed to edit images to touch them up before put into marketing materials or sent out to the different schools and organizations who visited us.
  • Coordinating with other Adobe suite products
  • A lot of options for editing tools
  • Professional quality
  • Not easy to just “pick up and use”, definitely a learning curve and not super intuitive to the average person
  • Keyboard shortcuts are different than other products we used and have different basic commands
  • Although integrated well, Sometimes confusing to use with Adobe Illustrator as they were set up quite differently even though had a lot of the same tools it was difficult to remember where things were located
  • Better “in house” tutorials would be nice instead of looking up everything online when you don’t know how to do something
This is suited well in settings where people have time to be trained and learn how to use it and its capabilities. It can do a lot more than other editing products out there and is well known. If you have time to learn it and be familiar with it, it is very worthwhile. It is appropriate for making professional edits and even for personal use.

Photoshop is a primary tool of our creative process. It is used across all departments that need to do photo editing — primarily the Creative Services and Media Production departments. It is also widely used by design contractors we work with. We use the app for editing, retouching, and color correcting photos; for creating product packaging artwork; for creating banners, signs, displays, social media graphics, and more. It is a highly versatile tool that is considered an industry standard, and works with many plugins and presets that we want to use.
  • Photoshop is very useful — in fact, it is practically the only app we use — for editing photos. This includes color correcting, cropping / straightening, compositing, retouching, masking (removing a background), and more.
  • Photoshop is easily extensible. There are literally thousands of presets and plugins available for it. This includes brushes, masks, shapes, color palettes, effects plugins, productivity plugins, import/export extensions, and more. This makes it easy to create unique and evocative images, and works well with many productivity workflows.
  • Photoshop is very accurate for bitmap colorwork, which is the foundation of both digital and print production. It supports all the important industry color spaces and has a great color management workflow.
  • There are many things Photoshop can do besides basic photo editing. You can create layouts, set up multi-artboard projects, create automated processes (scripts, actions, and data merge, among them), created 3D rendered imagery, edit video (including exporting animated GIFs), and various technical/scientific processes, among other things.
  • It is pretty expensive. I subscribe to the full Creative Suite, and that runs about $600 per year. Subscription is the only way to get the app, which may be concerning for some users. However, other graphics apps can read the Photoshop format, including at least its basic layer types, so you are not completely blocked in.
  • The data merge functionality is a bit of a pain to work with and doesn't seem to work precisely as described. (I could not get image link references to work on a Mac system.) But, I expect most users would not need or use this.
  • The app is kind of slow to start and a bit cumbersome to use if you want to just fire it up and do something quick and dirty, or if your graphics needs are pretty basic.
If you are a graphic designer, photographer, or other graphics professional, you should really get Photoshop. But you probably already knew that. It is the industry standard and it does all sorts of bitmap/raster/photo production very well.

If you need something only for basic or occasional work, the cost and complexity of this app are probably not worth it. If you mainly want to do quick edits or apply filter effects to digital photos, there are other apps that are cheaper and more efficient.

I use [Adobe] Photoshop on a regular basis for photo editing and cutting out backgrounds. It's also used to make up graphics sometimes, such as social media posts and flyers.
  • Quick actions - background removal is one I often use and it's very handy to have
  • Mask and layers - standard stuff, but great tools nonetheless
  • A decent text editor esp since that's not really what Photoshop is for
  • Vector drawing - I've always had a bit of trouble with this in [Adobe] Photoshop and prefer to use Illustrator though many designers like using PS for it
For everyday editing and background removal tasks, [Adobe] Photoshop is fantastic and probably a little more than you need maybe but I enjoy using it.

Photoshop is used to annotate photographs, create content, create figures and posters, and manage high resolution files throughout our business. It is used by the whole organization save for a few employees who prefer other software. It addresses photo and drawing editing and is one of the leading products that does so.
  • Editing jpg, png, and pdf files.
  • Organizing file types and managing pdf images.
  • Changing image resolution with minimal loss.
  • Speed of use on computers without a strong graphics card.
  • Opening line or vector drawings.
  • Compatibility with non-Adobe software.
I would highly recommend PhotoShop for most image editing purposes. It is very helpful when designing professional-looking illustrations or figures and ensuring they have the appropriate resolution. It is less appropriate for putting together technical images, line diagrams, or presentations (like Powerpoint). Users require time to adequately edit photos, so it is not a good 'on the fly' editing app.

Adobe Photoshop is a basic design program in our company to processing the final images of the architectural designs that we implement
  • image processing
  • correct and enhance colors
  • final image release
  • some tools need simplification
  • some compatibility issues with some file extensions
  • technical problems sometimes
always gives the best for the final image of our designs
our experience with Adobe PhotoShop is old it has evolved with the development of the new versions .. in the past image extraction processes required greater efforts than they are today

[Adobe] Photoshop is a mainstay for anyone interested in design and marketing. The entire Adobe suite (of which Photoshop is the anchor) is a necessary tool for any marketer to understand. We use it for a number of items, and I know that over the 32 years I have used it, it has morphed into a very large piece of software, most of the features I have not used. But, it is much like a hammer. You have to understand the basics of what it does before you can move into the various options, let alone the automation (such as a pneumatic hammer for your fence). Pick up the basics and understand the hammer. Go from there.
  • Photo editing for Pixel based files
  • Ability to edit elements in a way that is organic and soft
  • Editing anything that is not vector based.
  • Move most of the most basic elements to the front. Tuck the advanced stuff back
  • Don't over complicate it that it is not accessible for most
For basic editing, [Adobe] Photoshop might be overkill and something like free or simple tools might be better. But, if you are professional, you need to understand the fullness of the ability.

We have seven Creative Cloud licenses being used across a few different departments…Marketing, Production, and Development. On the marketing side [Adobe] Photoshop is used for photo manipulation, collages, page backgrounds, etc. On the Production side used for simple color correction on photos being placed in publications. On the Development side it's used for basic mockup situations that are presented to other departments.
  • We use [Adobe] Photoshop to mark up screenshots that are used in our Knowledge Base. Being able to save as a layered PSD allows us to go back and make edits later, unlike Apple Preview where once you save your markup you can't edit later on.
  • Photo correction and manipulation is extremely helpful. We don't have lots of this but being able to simply change a hue or make something black and white, it's a quick change in Photoshop.
  • I mentioned Layers, but to me that's something Photoshop does extremely well. Being able to layer text or images and to be able to move them around to structure the graphic differently is a game changer. It's never fun working with tons of layers, but the end result of the graphic is usually rewarding.
  • I struggle with thinking of areas where Photoshop can improve. I'm not a power user, so it works for the things I need it for. I've used it for 22 years so there have been MANY improvements over the years…all for the better
  • Even something as simple as the annoying Tooltips, thinking if would be nice if you could turn these off. Turns out you can turn those off by going into Preferences.
  • One thing would be to find a way to rasterize text differently in a Photoshop file. We work in digital publishing and when an ad has been created in Photoshop, the text is always blurrier than text that was created in Adobe InDesign. It would be nice to be able to designate a specific layer to a specific resolution or something.
Adobe Photoshop can be used in so many applications. There's really no limit into what you can use Photoshop for…except page layout :-). When you pair it with Adobe InDesign or Adobe Illustrator it only becomes more powerful. But just being able to edit images or create a detailed design you really can make Photoshop do whatever you want.

Adobe PhotoShop is being used on a near daily basis for a variety of things including photo editing, manipulation, creating graphics, and so much more. It's used by all designers for essentially all client--it really just depends on what's needed. It's what I consider the "mac daddy" of the creative suite, as it has so many functionalities.
  • Edit photos
  • Manipulate photos
  • The timeline tool could use improvement with regard to the user experience, as it gets a bit messy and hard to see
Adobe PhotoShop is well suited for anyone who's working within the industry of design and/or photography or even a small mom and pop type of business who wears a lot of hats and does their own design work. It's got a bit of a learning curve but you could start using it within an hour to do basic things and create something.

I use photoshop for marketing projects and photo retouching. For my small firm, I am the only one that uses it. I have used it extensively when updating our website for more precision editing than I could do in Wordpress. I also use Photoshop to create multi-layer photo projects for advertising campaigns.
  • composite images: Photoshop is the best tool out there for creating multi-layer images using layer masks
  • Layout and design: InDesign (another Adobe product) is also great at this, especially for multi-page booklets or other documents, but Photoshop offers a lot of the same functionality without needing to learn another software. It's great to be able to do photo editing, layer masking, and then design all in one platform.
  • Photo editing: Adobe has the absolute best tools for color correction, portrait retouching, etc. No question in my mind that they outpace the competition in this respect by a large margin.
  • Price: They are definitely not the cheapest out there, and for the last several years they have moved to a subscription model so you are paying monthly instead of buying once and using the product for years until you want to upgrade. Packages range depending on what you need. But still, if you only use it occasionally or non-for-profit, then it can be pricey. There are lots of lower-cost or even free competitors out there. However, I do think you get what you pay for.
Adobe Photoshop is still the industry standard in many ways. They offer top-of-the-line photo editing. There are many cheaper competitors, but most have limited functionality of some sort. Those limitations may not be important for some jobs, but if you really want a powerhouse, Photoshop is the best option. I use it for composite images and cleaning up image quality or lighting, retouching headshots, and creating design layouts. Lightroom is great for image quality, and InDesign is great for layout. But honestly, with just a little more know-how and potentially a little more work, you can do it all in Photoshop. Well, unless you want to create vector images, then you need Illustrator! The whole Adobe Creative Suite is great if you don't mind the price!

As the Marketing Director for Larue Pest Management, I use Photoshop to create visual aides across every department within our company, but mainly for the graphic needs of our Marketing Department. PhotoShop helps me make sure that every photo and graphic design project that represents our company look clean, polished, and professional.
  • PhotoShop has grown and adapted to the user's needs, never changing everything at once, but gradually making it better and better, so you can grow along with the software.
  • PhotoShop allows me to make ordinary photos look extraordinary by editing lighting and erasing imperfections.
  • There are so many Actions, brushes, and filters that are accessible through the Adobe community that the possibilities are endless.
  • I LOVE the Autofill feature. When I have a photo that won't quite work in a certain aspect ratio needed, I can add in space that was never there and no one ever notices.
  • I've always wished that there was a button to Collapse all blending options, instead of having to click through each layer to do that. They have a button to collapse groups, so that seems logical to add as well.
  • I'm a Photoshop "Super-fan" so it's very difficult to come up with cons, but I guess sometimes I can't find the answer to my questions in the Help menu and I have to find and watch a random YouTube video to learn how to do certain things.
  • One thing I've always wished was that we could have some kind of a Photoshop plugin for InDesign, so that I could edit graphics within InDesign, rather than "placing" a file and having to still manipulate it in PhotoShop. I hate going back and forth to see my changes within my actual layout.
I have been working with PhotoShop for over 20 years, so the program easily just makes sense to me, however, if you are new to it I can see how the endless options can seem overwhelming. I would say that anyone looking to get into photography or graphic design should learn Photoshop. If you are just looking to create some small things here and there, maybe start with a more simplified program.

Adobe PhotoShop is our default image editor for editing images, creating graphics, or anything photo-related. We use the software to create digital ads, manage, edit and manipulate images from photographers. We also use Adobe PhotoShop to create graphics for websites, apps, and other digital applications. It's used by every designer and developer in our agency.
  • Powerful image editing.
  • Good integration with other Adobe tools.
  • Relatively easy to use.
  • Forced to purchase the suite of apps and go on a monthly subscription.
  • Can feel bloated and slow at times.
  • Sometimes too many options.
  • UI can be cluttered.
Adobe PhotoShop is the most well-known photo editor so most people know how to use it. It's great for people who live and breathe photos or need tools to create assets for digital applications. It's cross-platform so that it can run on pretty much any machine. It provides all the necessary tools to accomplish all editing tasks.

Adobe Photoshop is used extensively in our creative and marketing departments. Any image processing required by our R&D department is also sent to the creative department for alterations or to fix aspecs like lighting and contrast. Lastly, it's used to convert between image formats for use throughout the organization, including our websites and online e-learning platform.
  • Deep etching of images for use online or in design
  • Exporting to different image formats
  • Bulk processing of images to change format or size
  • The image processor script can be a difficult to learn how to use
  • Exports to PNG format always end up with large file sizes and requires an additional external image processor to bring the size down
  • The UI can be confusing when you dock and undock images to the bar.
Adobe Photoshop is great when you need to do detailed image editing and basic design works. There is nothing that comes close when editing photos for online or print use, but it's not a tool to do layouts or vector designs. Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator are better tools for those jobs respectfully.

We use Adobe Photoshop on a nearly daily basis do accomplish tasks across multiple departments. As Promotions Director, I use [Adobe] Photoshop for marketing materials I need turned around quickly as I build contesting or event pages for our websites. I also use [Adobe] Photoshop regularly for simple additions of our own or client logos to existing images, or to accomplish something as quick as changing an image file type so that it works better for its intended purpose. On a larger scale, our company has a Digital Hub to which we can send requests for more complex graphics needs. Our staff at the Hub also implement [Adobe] Photoshop on a daily basis to design logos and create nearly any kind of promotional artwork imaginable.
  • [Adobe] Photoshop is great for quick and complex needs alike. I love being able to open an image in the software, do what I need to it, and the run a Quick Export to get a PNG of my image, ready to plug in on the web or wherever I need it.
  • [Adobe] Photoshop's latest version does an incredible job with automation. Things that I've wondered how to do in the past are now presented with relative ease. The AI behind a lot of what the software can do is incredible, making it much more user friendly and making it possible for those with less knowledge of the software to accomplish more complex tasks.
  • Adobe Photoshop also integrates really well with other Adobe programs. If I need to start in Photoshop and move to Illustrator or another program, Photoshop makes this transition very smooth and simple.
  • [Adobe] Photoshop is about as straightforward as a photo editing software comes. However, Adobe could make an option for brand new users to have a UI that would help them navigate through how to accomplish things more easily.
  • [Adobe] Photoshop could benefit from a "low-power" mode of sorts, so that it could run more smoothly on a less capable computer while still being able to accomplish simple tasks. When using Photoshop on older PCs, it bogs down quite a bit, even when doing something simple like text overlay.
Adobe Photoshop is the best tool for anyone who needs to create and/or edit graphics and photos on a regular basis. There is other software out there that can accomplish similar tasks, but if you are a graphics person and want completely fluidity between programs and the industry standard in just about every creative facet, then Adobe's Photoshop is really the clear choice. [Adobe] Photoshop can accomplish the most simple task with ease, but also allows for extremely complex steps to be taken for endless creative possibilities. For someone who is just a small business owner trying to do things themselves, there are simpler graphics programs out there. Someone with less knowledge may be better suited with a program that guides them a little more through the process, as Photoshop's capabilities may overwhelm some users.

I use Adobe Photoshop for my freelance graphic design work and projects to create graphic products to sell in my e-commerce shop and to do projects for clients. It helps me to do almost any type of photo editing work, from simple tasks such as reducing the image size to more complex objectives such as making digital art or original designs. Also, [it's] easy to create multiple-page PDF files.
  • Many photo editing features.
  • Navigation and menus are similar to other Adobe products, so once you learn to use one, it is easier to use other products.
  • Connection with Adobe Illustrator, you can simply drag files in between the programs.
  • Many effects and presets made by artists can be purchased separately in various platforms.
  • Steep learning curve, it takes time to master all the features.
  • Large program and need powerful computer to use with it.
  • Crashes often and doesn't always saves files automatically.
  • Expensive for personal use.
Perfect for any type of photo editing, working with JPG formats. It has an amazing function to automate and apply changes to many files at once. Adobe Photoshop is not suitable for vector files and it does require some time to learn and become a good user to be able to improvise and create unique designs.

As the Director of Marketing, I am responsible for advertising, website, publications, etc., all things that use photographs. We hire photographers sometimes, but a lot of the time I am taking photos that have to look professional. Sometimes I get lucky and get that perfect shot. There is still editing to be done for the image to pop just a little more. Photoshop is the industry standard and the only tool I use to manipulate my photos. I use the Sharpen Tool on every photograph I take, it brings up the detail just that much more (face and eyes)! The Spot Healing Brush Tool is a must to remove any dust, small objects you want to remove, or if you are taking photographs of people (especially teens) to remove blemishes from the skin. I can't live without Photoshop!
  • As I mentioned in my review, the Sharpen Tool in Photoshop is a must.
  • There is a tool for everything in Photoshop. I learn something new everyday!
  • Photoshop is one of a whole suite of products that will make you look good!
  • Photoshop is expensive.
  • Photoshop has so much functionality it takes a while to discover the use of every tool, but there are a lot of resources to get you started and become an expert.
For normal everyday photographs, there are quicker and easier products out there. For professionals and those who would like to spend more time editing and manipulating photos, Photoshop is a fantastic tool. Once you have used Photoshop for a while and become used to the awesomeness it is pretty easy to make quick adjustments to all your photos.

I use Adobe Photoshop to retouch images and to create very basic graphic design elements. I am a photographer and I'm using the program to take images that are nearly finished and make a few changes to make them into fully finished, retouched images, ready for delivery to my clients.
  • Fast retouching
  • High quality retouching
  • Integration with other professional image editing software (CaptureOne Pro, for example)
  • Highly customizable
  • More tutorials for beginners
  • Removing small bugs
  • Option to temporarily remove some features to simplify the experience
Adobe Photoshop is without a doubt the best and most sophisticated image editing software available on the market. There's no better, or faster, way to retouch professional photographs. Although I consider myself a basic user, I can quickly retouch things like lint on clothing or flyaway hairs and maintain the natural look of the photo. The main challenge for me in using the program, is the sheer complexity of it for other tasks.

Adobe PhotoShop is being used by our company's design team to create mockups and social posts to display our products. I run a drop-shipping hat business and to display our products, we use Adobe PhotoShop and create mockups that represent the design in real life. We also use Adobe PhotoShop to create attractive and aesthetically appealing social posts, which attract customers.

Adobe PhotoShop has solved the issue of not having high quality designs and product displays, which we now do thanks to Adobe PhotoShop.
  • Great variety of functions and tools
  • Highly intuitive user interface
  • Versatile; can be used for both personal use and professional use
  • It's worth the huge price tag
  • It is confusing and difficult to use for beginners
  • Plans that Adobe offers are expensive
  • Requires a decent amount of RAM to run Adobe PhotoShop smoothly
  • It has too many tools, so not all of them will be used
  • The icons are too small, which makes it look very complex
Adobe Photoshop is great for businesses that are willing to make the investment. It should only be purchased if graphic design or photo editing is one of the main aspects of the company. The same thing applies to personal users looking to start freelancing or start a business. If your work requires a designing/editing software, then it's a must because Adobe apps are recognized by everyone and if your business doesn't use a professional software like Adobe PhotoShop, you might find it difficult to compete in the market, where people always look for the best.

But if your business just needs a photo editing software for minor work, consider an open-source software instead, because Adobe PhotoShop wouldn't be worth the investment.

We use Photoshop along with other Adobe products for legal graphics that we create for clients. Timelines, Photo Blowups, Graphics, etc. It is used by two people in our office for this purpose. It allows us to effectively service our clients in terms of their graphics needs.
  • Graphics Creation - allows us to create detailed graphics and using layers allows us to create multiple options of graphics for clients to [choose] from
  • Photo Enhancement - Photoshop's multiple filters and adjustment options allow us to work effectively in enhancing and/or adjusting photos for clients.
  • Graphics Creation - the multiple graphics tools and options available from other adobe product integration allow us the ability to create any type of legal graphic for a client.
  • Graphics Creation - we also use Photoshop to create all of our marketing / advertising graphics using all the same included tools which allows for maximum flexibility when creating.
  • Would love to see more templates for inspiration in terms of marketing and advertising graphics.
I can't think of a scenario where Photoshop could not be used effectively in terms of graphic creation.

We are using Adobe Photoshop to create graphics for both print materials delivered to our learners in hard copy, and for digital materials delivered via our online learning platform. [Adobe] Photoshop provides a way for our graphic designers to collaborate and to use the latest and greatest graphic design software to create quality images that help us stand out from competitors.
  • [Adobe] Photoshop has excellent training and guides included in the software that take the guesswork out of which tool to use
  • [Adobe] Photoshop contains a multitude of tools for every imaginable photo or graphic edit
  • [Adobe] Photoshop files can be exported in a number of formats that make the images suitable for print and online applications
  • [Adobe] Photoshop has always been a rather processor-heavy tool, so it would be great if it had the same features and functionality in a more lightweight package that is easier on older computer systems
  • It would be great if you could easily make a white or other solid color image background transparent, immediately upon loading the image into Photoshop (instead of having to do this after you open the image for editing)
  • I would love to see more AI-based tools be available, like automatically copying or outlining a specific object in the image to be pasted into another image or used as a separate layer
Adobe Photoshop suits the needs of pretty much any graphic designer or company who can afford to pay for it. It's not free software obviously, and for many budgets it is simply not feasible to grant all graphic designers a license. But for companies with the budget for Photoshop, they really can't go wrong with using it for all their modern graphic design needs.

I use Adobe Photoshop for all of my digital photography needs, including batch processing and watermarking photographs. This tool is incredibly powerful and I have yet to come across a use case that it could not meet. I pre-process RAW photographs with the included Adobe Camera Raw plugin, and then use the tools available within Photoshop to complete the product.
  • Recordable actions - easily automate repetitive work.
  • Batch processing - output large amounts of work quickly.
  • Photo manipulation - there's nothing you can't create.
  • Heavy cache use - can be hardware intensive.
  • Minimal support for SVGs.
  • Steeper learning curve than some alternatives.
If you need to digitally paint an image from scratch, or to build out SVG images for the web, then Photoshop is not for you, as there are other programs far better suited to those use cases. However, for digital photography editing, Adobe is second to none. The included Camera Raw plugin will pre-process RAW photos from any modern camera, and with save-able presets, it makes quickly setting a baseline edit for a particular shoot a breeze. The tools available within Photoshop are incredibly powerful and allow you to make any creative vision you have into reality. There are even beta features like AI upscaling that work extremely well.
