We use Photoshop internally in my department to support projects that we work on, and we also support other users as they work on their own projects. It is our go-to raster image editing software, and is frequently use on designing posters, presentations, and elements for video projects such as titles and lower thirds.
  • Isolate elements within a photograph.
  • Combine pieces from multiple photographs.
  • Manage layers and elements for creating a composition.
  • Too many features - can be overwhelming for a novice.
  • Redundant features - there are several ways to accomplish most tasks.
  • Frequent updates - I do miss the old days before cloud where you could get a version and it would work for years. Now you have o update every few months, and occasionally get bugs.
Photoshop is great for editing photographs or making digital collages, but not as well suited for vector/illustrated artwork - which is a common misunderstanding by users we support. They know the name and expect Photoshop to be the best option for any static/design project regardless of the style or format.

I use [Adobe] Photoshop for digital advertising, photo corrections, image enhancement and more. This includes work both for clients and myself. It is a tool that helps make sure that images appear pixel perfect. It also is the primary tool for creation of web page banners (without text) and creation of small ads. I also use it to incorporate images in print pieces as well.
  • Scripting - being able to reuse a script to quickly do tasks that I commonly do is huge.
  • Photo corrections from color to background removal, Photoshop is an efficient way to get the exact result you want.
  • Creation of pixel perfect images for web use is essential for proper visual presentation but also for optimizing image size.
  • The ability to automatically see the revised image in Illustrator and InDesign is great.
  • The ability to create editable text in [Adobe] Photoshop for use on other documents and web pages is a limitation that doesn’t present a problem per se, but would be great if somehow it could be done.
  • Text formatting is another limitation of Photoshop. I generally try to limit text creation in Photoshop.
[Adobe] Photoshop is an industry standard that has amazing photo editing capabilities. This ranges from simple resizing of images to full control over color/image corrections to creating complex imagery from multiple images. Photo editing is a skill that requires practice and training, but once you get the hang of it, there isn’t much you can’t do. This is the best tool for any type of image usage whether in print or digital formats.

I use Adobe Photoshop daily for my tasks as a wedding photographer and photo retoucher. It is essential for editing, post processing, and keeping my workflow smooth. I recently upgraded to the latest version and love the new features and how fast the program is. It's truly a must have for anyone in the digital photography or design space. Very powerful tool.
  • Retouching clothing (remove wrinkles, change colors, etc.).
  • Remove and replace backgrounds and distracting elements of photos.
  • Fine tuning portraiture - skin smoothing, flattering body alterations.
  • Kind of a steep learning curve, can be overwhelming.
Adobe Photoshop is literally a must have for any photography professional. Its editing capabilities far exceed any other software, and the tools that it offers continue to get better and better (such as content aware replacement, smart selections, etc.). I find that it is best suited for more heavy handed, detail oriented work on single images, and less efficient for batch processing larger amounts of images. For the latter, Lightroom has the edge.

We use Photoshop to lay out a variety of graphics for web and print. It helps us implement our brand consistently, create impressive visuals, and raise the awareness of our brand in the community. One staff member uses it to create graphics for everyone in the organization. It solves the business problem of having inconsistent brand implementation or lower-quality designs.
  • Photoshop is very powerful if you know how to do it.
  • The updates continue to improve it without interrupting ease of use. Adobe is committed to constant updates.
  • Photoshop is the leader in the industry, so if you want a graphic design program, this is it.
  • There's huge functionality to create just about anything you can dream up.
  • It's simple enough for basic users to be able to execute their ideas well.
  • It allows for a high level of control and detail.
  • I don't like the new change where the selection tool can sometimes select the layer you don't want.
Photoshop is really useful for anyone doing graphic design. It's really the industry standard. If you have any marketing needs and want to spend some time learning a powerful software, it's worth your time. If you're a really small shop and don't have any time to develop your brand or learn software, there are probably other web-based programs that will be a lot easier for you. It's also not for people who aren't comfortable with computers or learning new technology.

We use PhotoShop daily for various reasons: marketing flyers, brochures, and campaigns, as well as for image editing in a variety of areas. PhotoShop is the #1 most used graphic platform on the market, and we've had it in our arsenal for 10+ years now. Our entire marketing department has Adobe Suite access, so it's also to easily store files in the Adobe cloud and share across the team for instant access while working.
  • Image Editing and Manipulation
  • Online Marketing Collateral such as Banner Ads
  • Ability to Modify Colors and Boundaries
  • Excellent Saving and Compression
  • Easy Cloud Storage and Accessibility
  • It's difficult for first time users - we typically have to train someone to use the platform
  • When Adobe makes updates to the platform, sometimes they move or remove frequently accessed tools by our team - which makes it frustrating to re-learn.
  • The cost of Adobe can get pricey if you're not a larger company.
For pretty much any graphic designer, marketing department, or web developer - PhotoShop is the industry standard. Once you learn how to use the platform, it's the only thing you'll ever want to use going forward. All of the tools that PhotoShop has in it's UI is beyond anything you'll ever need. We don't even use 1/2 of what they give us.

Adobe PhotoShop is used across much of our whole organization - pretty much any creative or design team uses it as part of our corporate licenses with Adobe Creative Cloud. It addresses the needs of just about any visual design situation where we need to work with digital imagery - cropping, resizing, adjusting lighting, touch-ups, layering elements, etc.
  • Image resizing/compression - cropping, resizing, and optimizing images to be exactly the dimensions, aspect ratio, and file size you need
  • Image manipulation - removing or adding elements to an image
  • Image effects - adding things like blur, lighting, emboss, texture, and other digital effects to an image
  • Bulk actions - being able to record a series of edits you make so that you can just hit a button to repeat the actions for a series of images
  • Crop feature - the newest version is hard to use compared to the previous version. It reverses the orientation of how you do it and is more cumbersome to use.
  • Vector elements - being able to quickly add stroke outlines to objects, etc [are] not as powerful and easy to do compared to Illustrator. Although this is not Adobe PhotoShop's focus, it would be nice to have consistency across the Adobe CC products by having Adobe PhotoShop be a little more versatile in this area.
  • Toolbar menu - the newest version of Adobe PhotoShop overhauls how the toolbar is done. While it is supposed to be user-friendly because it allows you to customize the toolbar, I find it more confusing because sometimes I can't find a familiar tool and have to go through extra steps to add it to my toolbar, rather than [...] just being available.
  • Overall complexity - Adobe PhotoShop is a very powerful tool, but with such great power comes great complexity. It can be difficult to know how to use many of the tools.
I feel that Adobe PhotoShop is well-suited for any scenario where you need to have a creative tool for digital imaging, image adjustments, image manipulation, etc. It is the industry-standard tool for a reason. Basic editing is fairly easy to do, and things like recording your actions for repetitive tasks make doing long processes a breeze.

Really the only situation where it may be less appropriate is if you need only the very basics of image editing (cropping, compressing, etc), in which case you can most likely find a free tool to do the same thing. Or, if you simply don't edit images very often, in which case it wouldn't be worth paying a monthly or annual fee.

We are using Photoshop mainly to cut images and create graphics for our website, social media ads, and other pages. It is mostly being used by our IT department. It allows us to create in house graphics for various marketing and our websites.
  • Easy manipulation of graphics to create a design you want with text over image for social media ads and the like.
  • Great way to edit images if you need to alter an image, such as removing a background or merging two images together.
  • High quality photo editing to make your images look exactly as you like and more appealing to an audience to capture their attention.
  • Creating clipping masks is very useful to help create templates for future use.
  • Some of the commands are not intuitive, such as scaling an image you need to go to Edit > Transform > Scale.
Photoshop is well suited for creating graphics for social media ads, web ads, banner images for your website, and cutting images for your website. You can easily edit your photos to be more striking and stand out, as well as adjust the tone, color balance, light, etc. better than your iPhone or other free apps can do. It's less suited for creating brochures or booklets (I'd use InDesign for that), or creating digital art (I'd use Procreate or something similar).

Adobe Photoshop is being used for our company's "Employee of the Month Program". It is only being used by the Human Resource Department and not across the whole organization. We are able to crop out unwanted background images and have a standardized background color for everyone. We have a display of all 12 months and the Employee of the year on a 3' by 4' cork board with individual frames.
  • You can layer one background on another which gives a cool effect of not being one solid color.
  • You can pick from a spectrum of different colors for [your] background or foreground.
  • If you take a picture in Portrait mode with your camera you can flip it to landscape within the program or vise versa.
  • There are a lot of different functions you can do with a picture. I don't know half of them. It seems like they could improve on explaining which each tool can do better. It tells you what the tool is when you put the mouse over it, but not how to use it. So, I have to explore a lot of times and play around with it to determine if it is something I want to use or not.
  • I use the Quick Selection Tool a lot and a lot of times it is very hard to get into small areas to select. It wants to expand into areas that I do not want to expand and I have to keep trying until I get it right.
  • It would be great if the different favorite tools used that go vertical down the left side of the screen that [there] could be a quick Youtube or something demonstrating how the tools are each used which may save time from having to play around with it or even looking it up in the help.
A scenario for why you would want to use Adobe Photoshop would be if you were very proficient in using the program and it functions you can crop a very nice picture to the size and shape and background color that you desire without the hassle of having to take your picture to like an Office Depot to print out. If you have some nice gloss paper and a good printer it will save you time and money.

On the other hand, if you are less proficient in using Adobe Photoshop it can be aggravating as there [have] been times I have played around with a picture for a couple of hours and still did not have the desired results I was looking for. So, I think it comes down to how proficient the user is in using this program. In my opinion, it is rather sophisticated to use.

We use PhotoShop to edit our photos taken by our photographer(s). Whether is adjusting color, balance, or retouching images along with creating 3D-like product images of our boxes/bottles. We use PhotoShop in our entire department. No business problems whatsoever.
  • Retouch cloning
  • Raw image editing
  • 3D mock up files
  • Concept creations
  • The constant crashing.
  • Can be glitchy at times.
I always recommend PhotoShop. Especially over PhotoShop Element or any other option, free or paid. Photoshop is hands down the industry-standard software when it comes to image editing, mocking, concept creation small or large scale.

As a wildlife and nature photographer, I use Adobe PhotoShop on a daily basis. I always aim to take the best shot possible when out shooting, but I am always cropping and re-framing my images and sometimes you need to retouch your shots just a bit. PhotoShop helps me be able to make small changes to my images in order to make them perfect.
  • It is really easy to use.
  • There are so many features that you can use to improve your photos.
  • It helps make your images very compelling to viewers.
  • I wish there were more tutorials on tips for making good edits.
  • There needs to be the ability to add more light to the shadows because sometimes it is not enough.
  • Importing RAW images is difficult when you have to import them into the RAW editor first and then into PhotoShop.
PhotoShop is great for pretty much any time you need to edit or retouch an image, if you would like to remove part of an image and replace it with something else, or if you simply need to crop or resize a photo. A scenario when it is less applicable would be if you are looking to do more of a graphic design type of project. You would want to look at Adobe Illustrator.

I started using Adobe PhotoShop 3.0 at SDSU’s graphic design lab, during my undergraduate studies in 2000. Since that time, I have employed various versions of it — now working with PhotoShop CS — in professional environments (newspaper and online advertising, financial services marketing, global welding company marketing, law firm marketing and my own business in which I use it for designing things like logos and book covers). I also use Adobe PhotoShop for fine art applications. It offers the ability to optimize images for use with other applications such as InDesign and Powerpoint.
  • Optimize images in countless ways for use with other applications
  • Create web-ready images with transparent backgrounds
  • Combine images for fine art applications
  • Clean up headshots (fix /whiten teeth, get rid of skin imperfections and wrinkles, etc.).
  • The gradient tool is harder to use than it used to be
  • The software takes a lot of RAM to run and when it needs more space, (which can happen in the middle of a project) it can be time consuming and frustrating to fix.
  • The purge (cache) only works temporarily. When Photoshop has used all available RAM and is using the scratch disk, the performance slow.
For a digital photographer, Adobe PhotoShop makes your work shine whether your working with simple object images or complex images with many fine details. Adjusting light, contrast, brightness, hue and color saturation is easy.

Using the pen tool, clipping paths and layers allow for the creation of a clean designs that are easily exported and used with publishing software, saved for later use or directly printed. Photographers may choose to use Adobe Lightroom instead of Adobe PhotoShop as it takes less space on your hard drive, but for artists or designers that need room and tools to create, Adobe Photoshop offers endless options.

As I am charged with the creation of training materials, I am frequently needing to take stock and custom photography and graphic logos and altering them for use in presentations and training materials. While there are other cheaper alternatives, Adobe has been setting the standard on these products for years and they continue to always be the better option. This holds true for available features and quality of processing.
  • Image adjustments such as histograms, levels, etc.
  • Masking and cropping images
  • Layer effects and special processing effects
  • On multiple monitor setups, I would like more granular control of where dialog popups appear to minimize trying to find which screen a dialog is on
  • The ability to customize and add shortcuts for some functions would streamline workflow
  • The ability to define text styles and create text style presets or libraries
  • Better brush editing/preview interface to make it easier to work with custom brushes
Adobe PhotoShop continues to define and provide the best options for image manipulation and editing. I have tested and used many of the free and lower-cost alternatives and they always have little hangups and missing features that Adobe PhotoShop provides.

If asked by people if it is worth paying for Adobe PhotoShop, I always say that if you can afford it, get it. All of the others either turn into lower quality work, frustration or both.

For people on a tighter or nonexistent budget, there is always GIMP, that it always seems a little clunkier to me to operate.

Several individuals within our organization use PhotoShop to complete a variety of tasks. My web developers use the program to touch up, resize and manipulate photos and graphics for websites, while my designers use the program for photo editing, graphic creation and a variety of other image related tasks. Overall, we use the program multiple times a day and it is an essential part of our daily activities.
  • Easily handles import and export of multiple formats.
  • Unique tools allow creation of effects that [could] not have been possible without high-level skills.
  • Seamless transition with other Adobe programs expands capabilities tremendously.
  • Easy to use for basic tasks and easy to grow into for more complicated effects.
  • Like anything else that is highly effective, it takes some time to learn how to use it.
  • Some of the recent changes took a while to get used to after using earlier versions.
  • The new crop size and resolution fields in the top bar are sometimes confusing to use.
Obviously, PhotoShop is best for photo and graphic manipulation at basic and high levels. The tools provide a wide range of options and essentially allow you to do whatever you want to [do to] a photo if you understand how to use the right tools. Sometimes, creating vector and other graphics is possible in PhotoShop but in many cases, Adobe Illustrator is the better tool.

We use Adobe Photoshop to produce digital content like flyer, social media posts, advertisements, and important information for our students. Through this platform, we are able to customize different products, edit photos and create unique and interesting content for our users to consume.
  • Allow for creative flexibility.
  • Easy to create and expand new "layers" on the product.
  • Lots of fonts.
  • Has a decent learning curve, but YouTube has a lot of tutorials.
  • Takes up a lot of processing power on your computer.
  • Tools could be labeled better.
Overall, I think Photoshop provides the user with a lot of flexibility. The biggest thing is that the more you use it and learn it, the more you will be able to get out of it. If you are looking to create graphics that are unique, this is a great tool. People who are less experienced should learn this, but also be careful as it is a steep learning curve when you start.

Photoshop is used more or less daily.

It is used for:
  • Editing of photos.
  • Design of graphics.
Most of our initial editing work is in Adobe Lightroom (for speed) with more complicated edits taking place in Photoshop.

Our design work mainly relates to template design for our event work. These are typically branded templates for companies we work with.

Photoshop allows us to quickly make edits as needed.
  • Content Aware Fill - removing objects simply and speedily. There has been a recent good upgrade to this function.
  • Design - far simpler to use than Illustrator and we don't need the full vector editing capabilities.
  • Creation of overlays, etc. - in PNG format. Simple and quick.
  • Video - after a recent update it no longer allows importation of video. This is well documented and a massive failing.
  • Editing tools for photography could be easier to access, especially for new users of the program.
  • Changes to the workspace mean it isn't as clean as before with lots of nannying prompts appearing
It's great for complicated edits and some design work.

Lightroom is far more efficient if you are conducting bulk editing but as you can edit in Photoshop from Lightroom this integration works very well.

The video problems are a major hinderance! Many people don't think of Photoshop as being a video editor but it is good for simple edits - very easy to use.

Photoshop isn't great for 360 images, Affinity Photo is much better.

Adobe Photoshop is being used by my organization every day. We are an eCommerce fashion platform and use Photoshop to retouch, color calibrate, resize and compress our images of models, shoes, accessories, and bags. The app is only being used by the Content department. We are 9 retouchers and a team leader. We use macOS and Windows. Some iMacs are not what you call "new". They don't run the last operative system, so the last version of Photoshop is not supported. It's not in the mind of anyone to change to another app, Photoshop is king on our land.
  • Photoshop has a great hair mask brush, it's like any other on the market.
  • The "Select subject" function uses Adobe Sensei (Adobe's AI) to do almost all the work for you.
  • Photoshop is the best app for photo retouching and manipulation. You can Google that if you don't trust me.
  • Photoshop has the best user community on the internet, followed by Microsoft Excel.
  • Photoshop needs a smaller version for computers that help users to do some small things like cropping an image or color change them.
  • Photoshop needs to upgrade its iPad app. It is not the full app, and it's embarrassing.
  • Photoshop needs room for more user modifications like customized panels.
  • Adobe Sensei needs to get bigger and smarter.
  • Voice control would be great.
Adobe Photoshop is the number 1 app on the market for photo retouching or manipulation. No need for debate.
There are a lot of apps trying to make retouching easy or simple. Photoshop is not in that league. It is limitless, you can create literally anything with it. Apps like Pixelmator are trying to show the market they are cheaper, ask GIMP how that went for them.

Photoshop is an integral component of our curriculum, both as a professional education facility that provides instruction to junior and senior high schools in digital media communications. We use Photoshop to create system marketing materials that our company publishes for distribution in local secondary schools for registration. Photoshop is an important program that our students study as part of our curriculum in graphic design and manipulation. Finally, students work for local organizations and companies, create advertisements, posters, leaflets, brochures, digital advertising and banners, video graphics and much more in our class. Photoshop is our first (and mostly last) pause when it comes to making graphics or picture editing.
  • Strongly practical & incredibly flexible — Photoshop helps users to complete a LOT of photo reconstruction, graphic design, development on vectors (such as the design of logo), and digital painting ... also animation.
  • Market Standard — Adobe Photoshop is one of the leading graphics editing tools in the market.
  • Reactive and robust — Photoshop operates very well. I seldom experience device failure problems or crashes. They do what they do, and they do it well.
  • Photoshop is a complex app — the basic tools and features that novice users can only find in the surface of Photoshop. Complete simple image editing (for example redimensioning, cutting and painting) can be easy to pick up easily, but most of the features require time to understand and master — which can be daunting for some people.
  • Photoshop is not a software you can purchase. The Adobe Creative Cloud/Subscriptions Service. In its Innovative Cloud apps, Adobe integrates PS with subscription-based software. It will be perfect for beginners and experts – newcomers can only pay for (monthly) what they need and experts will never have to think about missing new apps because updates are included with the package. However, I have talked to a lot of consumers who just require a working software update, and want to buy a software license, who are completely dissatisfied.
  • Photoshop takes up valuable hard disk space, the machine itself and the images in Photoshop. Plan to host this program with a big hard disk with plenty of memory space.
Photoshop is powerful enough for all graphics needs to use a single program.

We deal with media, video, and photography, so we use Photoshop daily.
  • I love that all the programs in the suite communicate with each other.
  • I obviously work especially with layers and masks to post-produce my photos.
  • The price. I preferred it when it was at a fixed cost and not a subscription. Although, now it offers much more.
  • I don't see any other flaws. I have also read other reviews. Well, the learning curve is as high as it is logical for a professional product. And it is logical to require a powerful PC.
I'm a video maker and photographer, and I don't see an inappropriate scenario for this software. I don't deal strictly with graphics, for that you can work with Photoshop in combination with Illustrator, but for my work as a photographer it does everything. Cut out, hole green screen, and above all, I spend hours retouching my portraits to models, overlapping levels and actions, and going to work on every detail. Adobe Photoshop is some of the most powerful software in the world.

At BAPS Charities, we use Photoshop for a lot of reasons. A bulk of this deals with Marketing and Advertising for events. As a non-profit, we have a lot of annual events where we need flyers, posters for the environment, Mailchimp campaigns, logos for those events and signs and banners. We also use these certain elements created in Photoshop in other software by Adobe. So if we create logos within Photoshop with individual layers, we can then animate logos and those individual layers in Adobe After Effects (an advanced video editing software), etc.
Photoshop is actually being used within the design team, video team as well as the marketing team throughout all locations across the country and around the world, so it helps solve a lot of the business problems relating to social events, and content that relates with each and every one of those events.
  • It's the most notable software for graphic manipulation, so it comes with a lot of support from online communities, Youtube, etc.
  • There are lots of sites that provide a baseline for starting every project you can think of ranging from logos, flyers, brochures, signs/ banners, etc, so you can easily download free templates from online and get a project that satisfies you.
  • The interface is pretty simple, and each tool has its own "How to Use" instruction provided in one sentence for easy understanding for each user, so the curve for learning it is not that much.
  • I have a Macbook now, but when I was younger, with a not so powerful Windows computer, Photoshop took a lot of ram and computer power, which made my computer slow and heated up a lot.
  • It's strictly an image/ graphic manipulation software, so it doesn't have much when it comes to vector graphics. So you're basically working with pixels that become blurry at some point when you zoom in too much.
  • Sometimes the cost of Photoshop can be a little depressing. Being a college student with a lot of loans and tuition, sometimes it can get scary with all the monthly subscription cost.
Adobe Photoshop has endless possibilities when it comes to how it can be used and what use cases it provides. As a designer for a non-profit organization and as a college student, a lot of things I've used it for range from creating compelling presentations for school projects to creating logos for charity events (walkathons, health fairs, Flu drives, blood drives, etc), as well as national event graphics ranging from environment posters, background wallpapers, projection screen backdrops, led screen overlays, etc. So this is just a small sample of what Photoshop can achieve.
Some things that it may not be good for are vector graphics. So if you need designs for printing (shirts, etc) that require vectorized files from the printing company, then you would have to get something like Adobe Illustrator, which specialized in vector projects.

The graphic design department uses Adobe Photoshop to create and develop all the graphic content for our company, whether it is for advertising posters or for our social networks, it is a powerful tool that you can learn to use in a short time.
  • Excellent very organized interface.
  • It is very good for making photo montages.
  • I can create 3D designs.
  • It consumes a lot of resources from my computer.
  • It requires a graphics card to be able to render some elements.
  • You don't have many options for working with vectors.
Adobe Photoshop is ideal for any type of company in which you need to make designs constantly, with this tool you can be more productive without a doubt, however, the price of your license and the requirements that computers need to be able to run it make it a not very cheap option.

I use Adobe Photoshop to edit graphics for my company, though it isn't my primary job. Multiple people in the marketing team have their own accounts, and use it for things like editing graphics for presentations or emails. As a marketing manager, the software is constantly handy -- it allows me to do everything from create mockups for my projects to tweak headshots of colleagues and customers. I love the flexibility of the tool.
  • Photo editing - It's the best tool in the market.
  • Layouts - Though not primarily built for this, it works well enough for the basics.
  • It requires a lot of memory for my laptop. I need to close other applications when I use it!
  • I'm not too fond that it's all cloud-based now.
If you have an eye for graphic design and are willing to learn how to use it, it's the right tool for you. However, if you consider yourself inept, forget about it and select an easier tool like Canva. You kind of need to be willing to open your mind and study what good images/design really is.

Our small communication team utilizes Adobe Photoshop, as well as our IT director. We mainly use it in creating designs for graphic-based social media posts and marketing emails, and most especially for editing photos for use in publications, including social media, our quarterly magazine, and letters that go out multiple times a year to our supporters, alumni, churches, and donors.
  • Ease of cropping and resizing photos is the biggest use for me, even though it's a robust program capable of a lot more than that! I manage our social media accounts using a social media scheduling tool that requires images to be under 10MB. Photoshop makes it easy for me to quickly resize our high res photos to constraints that fit for this platform.
  • Image retouching is pretty synonymous with Photoshop, but it is still worth highlighting. It is great for quick fixes even if you don't have a ton of knowledge with image editing software. We mainly use it for brightening photos for our print publications, as well as smoothing out any minor flaws in photos, such as missing patches in grass.
  • It sounds silly, but Photoshop makes it easy for me to find the HEX codes I need for use in HTML. Sometimes I need specific colors for our website and marketing mails, and it's easy to find any color in the world I want and quickly grab the HEX that corresponds with it.
  • It would be great if the toolbar was a little more intuitive and detailed, especially for new users. It takes some time to figure out what button serves what purpose, but this is honestly a very minor "downside" to have. There are lots of YouTube videos and other completely free resources to help get a better grasp of Photoshop.
Photoshop is a must-have tool for my organization. Social media is huge for my department, and Photoshop streamlines that process so much by allowing us to easily resize and crop images for optimal viewing on social media. Different platforms sometimes call for different constraints, especially Instagram. Photoshop makes it easy to keep things looking great across all different mediums. It's also a must-have for our print publications, particularly in conjunction with Adobe InDesign.

Adobe Photoshop is used by the marketing department (5 employees) to create content for our website and our weekly newsletter. With Adobe Photoshop we can edit photos and images so they meet our design and branding standards. Some of our web designers also use Adobe Photoshop to create content for our company website.
  • Editing photos (especially for light and color correction).
  • Editing illustrations.
  • Nothing major, Photoshop is the industry lead in terms of image editing software. It requires some training for beginners, since it has tons of functionalities.
Adobe Photoshop is the industry standard in terms of photo/image editing. There's no other software that does what Photoshop does. I do recommend it for any designers/marketers/photographers in the market. The only down side (which may be an issue for some companies) is the price tag. When you have few users, it may become an expensive tool.

Adobe Photoshop allows me to create unique content as well as retouch/edit photos. It is an essential part of my business, and I use it literally every day. From social media graphics to trade show displays, it can be used for a wide variety of projects. There really are not any other programs out there that can match it in terms of features and capability.
  • Constantly adding new features.
  • Integration with other Adobe products.
  • Initial version releases are usually full of bugs (has been my experience with the last 3 versions).
  • Removal of old features that were part of my workflow.
Adobe Photoshop is great for editing photos and creating original content, but it is not suitable for page layouts or other print projects. For editing and retouching photos there is really no other program out there that can match it. One of my favorite features is the content-aware fill. You have to adjust it a bit, but a retouch that would have taken hours now only takes a few minutes. It’s one of many examples of how Adobe Photoshop remains the photo editor of choice for design professionals.

We use Adobe Photoshop for a variety of purposes during the creation of various marketing materials, websites, and social media graphics. Photoshop makes it easy to customize logos, edit and resize photos, match custom brand colors and more. In addition to being an incredible tool for customizing graphics, it's also easy to include text when creating marketing slicks and promotional flyers and ads.
  • Adobe Photoshop makes it easy to edit, customize and resize photos which is perfect for social media applications and for building websites.
  • If you download a logo or other graphic from a stock photo site, Photoshop makes it extremely easy to customize and include the brand's custom colors.
  • Incredible Photoshop templates are readily available on endless sites. Download and open in Photoshop to quickly modify the pre-designed layers. Your final product will look like it took weeks to design and create.
  • The learning curve is a bit steep at first. Perhaps a brief tutorial video could pop up the first time you use each new tool or function. (The user should be given the option to watch or close the video, depending on their needs.)
  • The tool bar shows one icon but hidden under that icon are additional tools. New users might not be aware of the hidden tools.
  • Uploading compatible tools, such as additional brushes, is a bit complicated at first. Perhaps create a simple pathway with an upload button.
Adobe Photoshop is perfect when you need to customize graphics for any purpose and require an extremely professional result. So many websites and marketing materials look like they were built by amateurs simply because the photos weren't cropped and re-sized to properly fit the space, and the colors are "close" but not uniform where needed. Photoshop makes it easy to work with photos and all graphic images.
