Vantage is being used for benefits, payroll, GL, Human Resources, Time, performance and compensation. We are using Vantage throughout the entire company. It is eliminating paper and it provides real-time data for our teams.
  • ADP is always updating Vantage. ADP is always looking for ways to improve the product. They are also looking for clients to chime in on any product enhancements. This is amazing that ADP wants to know what we think about the product.
  • We like the performance and compensation module. It has eliminated the need for paper. We'll never lose an evaluation. Amazing!
Cons
  • We would live to see a more robust disciplinary system, where associates can sign their counseling, to eliminate the need for paper.
  • We have more than 1200 practitioners. This is a shortcoming for ADP, because when we need to add a new feature, we have to update each practitioner record one a at time.
If a client is looking for a one stop shop, I think Vantage is it.

ADP Vantage HCM is being used by our organization to manage HR, payroll, benefits, recruiting, and timekeeping. We have a widespread group of over 40 locations in North America. We needed an HCM that allowed us to see data for the entire organization at a glance. Also, we needed a system that our employees could access from anywhere via a mobile device. Additionally, we have a fairly complex timekeeping setup that is critical to our business. We were able to establish this setup in an integrated suite, which provides more access to real-time data.
  • The data dashboards and metrics are phenomenal; they can really be used as tools for managers to gain better insight into the business.
  • The MyADP interface is great for front line employees. We have a very high mobile adoption rating and a solid 4.5 stars average review from users.
  • We recently completed open enrollment and users were very receptive of how easy it was to enroll and manage their benefits.
Cons
  • The workflows are clunky and outdated; they are difficult to build and maintain from an administration standpoint. Every workflow needs to be available as a customizable activity to fit your business.
  • There is a lack of messaging/communication tools. All notification through the system are tied to a workflow, and the templates available are not sufficient. There's not a lot of field available for formatting. There's no way to send messages to external email (i.e. an email NOT in ADP, like a group mailbox). And there's no direct messaging capability.
  • More in the area of timekeeping, especially around mobile barcode reading. Parity with the mobile platform is still lacking.
  • Auditing. The auditing features in this system are not great, and SOX compliance may be difficult.
I think no HRI System is perfect, and every company functions so differently as far as org structure, HR department resources, employee demographics, etc. Its essential to define what is critical to your business to see what you cannot live without. I like that ADP is integrated and you get real time data for all platforms you are using; its a tremendous help to not have to run integrations or worry about people seeing different data in different systems. Also, we are spread out, so the mobile technology and ability to see all data real time from across the country is critical. This may not be the best system for organization with extremely complex setups, especially around access permissions and workflows. If you have the resources to manages them, then its fine. But lean organizations may struggle with maintenance needs if your requirements are extremely complex.

When the company decided to merge all North America Divisions into One Division bringing payroll for more than 10,000 associates to a Central Service Center they migrated to ADP Vantage HCM company wide. I was part of the user testing team and part of the initial go live team. This migration brought various payroll systems into the new system, which was difficult and much more complex than first believed. It is my belief that the system was not designed to process payroll for such a diverse and complex organization, we had many difficulties in using Vantage in a productive and efficient manner.
  • Vantage HCM unites human resource management, benefits administration, payroll services, time and labor, and talent management into a single solution.
  • Reports, dashboards and other analytical tools can provide you with new perspective on how you hire, manage and reward your people, with real-time information you can act upon.
  • The Flexibility to scale up or down to your business neeeds, as well as adding various modules as you need them is advantageous.
Cons
  • I found the Off-Cycle check process to be cumbersome and very time consuming.
  • I also found the Customer Service during implementation and after go live to be lacking in consistency and availability.
  • I believe the communication between the Payroll and Time and Labor systems needs to be more seamless
Be sure to ask what the threshold for Human Captial is to ensure smooth functionality. We had more than 10,000 associates, and processed weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly and quarterly payrolls for union and non-union associates. There were also varied and complex work rules, ensure that the Time and Labor Module can accomodate all of your scenarios.

It is used across the organization as a Time Sheet and Payroll.
  • Great automation. When an employee requests off, it will automatically notify me and then send a confirmation back to the employee.
  • I absolutely love the payroll feature, it is easy to find a discrepancy in payroll. Visually appealing pop-ups and animation.
  • The News section easily allows for organizational posts or notifications.
Cons
  • There is currently a bug or defect with the calendar popup and it requires a duplicated click to request off.
  • The monthly time off calendar can be improved visually. Need an easier way to see a big picture for the employee.
It seems well suited for Time Card and Payroll.

Used by the majority of our salaried employees. Went live on 1/1/19 and we currently utilize 60% of the platforms that Vantage has to offer. One of the problems we have as HR is having a complex group of employees (Salaried, FT hourly, Seasonal) along with different benefits programs which include both Union and Non-Union employees.
  • Real-time data - we noticed that data passes through from Recruiting to HCM to Benefits rather quickly. It's better because we would normally have to wait a day or two for data to update in the different platforms.
  • Streamlined Data - Now that data passes through from platform to platform, we no longer have many manual entries to key in.
Cons
  • There are certain real-time data that is not actually provided in real-time. We have discovered there are some changes that have a 24-hour turnaround time, to me that is not real-time.
  • The carrier should go to benefit vendors at least 2-3 times a week, not once. This is difficult when you have a certain group of workers whose benefits could start at any time and sometimes they have to wait 1+ weeks in order for the carrier to show them as active.
When you have to look at different information for one employee or look at multiple employees, you cannot open multiple windows to show this information for comparison. What works for us is that recruiting, HCM, Benefits, and Performance/Talent is all in one system - we don't have to log into multiple sites to see the information, but if you are not actively working in HCM but in other modules, the system will time out. This is frustrating because some of the modules such as Reporting you need to pull in the data from HCM but if the system times you out, you need to log back into HCM then go back into reporting to run your report.
