ADP is truly reliable. Just like any payroll provider that extends into other areas through partnership, not everything is seamless.

Easy system to set up employee profiles. Support request is a good idea, but needs to be utilized better. If a situation is explained in support request then no need to call and explain again.

In our organization, we use ADP Workforce Now's Time & Attendance piece, the Mobile Solutions App and reporting. Our agency is looking to branch out and use the other features that are provided.
  • Time and Attendance
  • Reports & Analytics
  • Position Control
ADP is well suited for our agency, especially since we are trying to push the employees to be self serviced.

We use it for payroll, benefits, and have the enhanced time for timekeeping
  • I like the one system for everything
  • I like how employees can make their own changes in the portal as needed
  • I like the support and bridge features - easily accessible
  • Some of the wizards they have done keep the segregation that we need as a company, so they are basically not used (pay rates for example are handled by payroll and not HR, but there is a new hire wizard and it asks for rate changes to be done through it). this is probably more just our company
When you have a lot of employees, benefits to worry about, and in different states, it's nice to have ADP worry about the taxes and state regs vs me having to look it all up. If it was a small family owned business with say 5 people - I wouldn't recommend it.

We use it for HR onboarding, benefits, payroll, everything
  • Integrates timekeeping
  • Helps process GL
  • Processes taxes
  • When they do updates, other modules seem to have glitches
  • It is hard to get a hold of help sometimes
  • The GL section needs work
It works well with taxes. It works semi-well with benefits.

Overall Review of ADP

We use Workforce Now across the entire organization to process payroll and handle our benefits. We also use ADP as our 'homepage". We also use ADP to track PTO and process all PTO requests, and we use it to track FMLA and to run payroll and HR reports. We also track performance evaluations and trainings.
  • PTO tracking
  • Benefit Administration
  • Payroll processing
  • More integration with HSA accounts
  • More complex payroll function ability
  • An employee directory feature
ADP Workforce now is well-suited for standard payroll and benefit administration. It is less well-suited for highly complex payroll situations. And editing the payroll batch data is a nightmare and not user-friendly at all. Also, actually contacting someone at ADP when you have an issue that needs to be resolved- forget it. 2-3 hour hold times for customer service are common.

ADP-WFN is used solely for payroll processing at this time.
  • client service is very attentive
  • ADP reporting makes my job easier
  • search and archive tools are very helpful
  • really like co-browse feature
  • dedicated client service teams should be a thing
  • emails from ADP should ALWAYS include company code pertaining to email
  • error messages for stalled processing should show the exact error causing stall
I process payroll for many company codes, and I would [like] the capability to toggle between company codes without having to log out of one to access another.

All benefits, payroll and HR functions.
  • Payroll processing
  • Payroll statements & annual payroll statements
  • All information on one website
  • Fewer updates
  • Less security for administrators
  • Better report writing
All payroll functions are available in one place and our ADP Rep is easy to get ahold of.

We use ADP across the whole organization. It helps keep everything for our employees in one place from payroll & requesting time off to their benefit enrollments and onboarding. This has been extremely beneficial for the HR department because it not only helps having everyone in one place, but it helps us help our employees when they have questions. We can also roll out any new policies that need signatures through ADP and it is so helpful.
  • Helpful wizards make everything an easy process.
  • Quick to answer questions and troubleshoot bugs.
  • Setting up onboarding is super easy and covers everything.
  • E-I9 process is electronic and efficient.
  • The app should be able to do what the website does.
  • Rehiring employees does not work in ADP right now.
ADP Workforce Now is well suited for every part of the employee's life cycle. The only scenarios that currently do not work with ADP Workforce Now is rehiring employees and placing and removing employees from a leave of absence. Otherwise, it really does cover all the bases. The app is fairly simply and glitchy but has a lot of promise.

ADP [Workforce Now] is our go-to software for things like clocking in, timecard management, payroll, and PTO. It is very user-friendly and easy for admin and employees to use. Our HR directors use the software daily to ensure timecards are accurate and payroll is accurate. Employees often get on the site to view benefits, PTO balances and request time off.
  • We had payroll errors on our end, and they helped correct [them] and got our employees paid
  • They are always quick to respond when issues arise
  • The software is very user friendly and the onboarding process is super simple
  • Sometimes employees cannot access their benefits easily
  • Timecards are occasionally messed up
  • Employees were able to clock in from their phones at home, so we had to change the settings
They helped us out when our HR director quit but had not pushed payroll through yet. They were able to push it through and get our employees paid in a timely fashion. Any mistakes that have been made with payroll have always been corrected promptly. [It is] good software I would recommend to my friend's companies.

We use [ADP] Workforce Now as our HRIS, Time & Attendance, and Payroll provider. It is used mainly by HR practitioners, but supervisors and managers do have time off and timecard responsibilities. We are just starting to utilize it to roll out policies and procedures.
  • All information is in one place: HRIS, Time & Attendance, Payroll
  • There are multiple modules and add-ons to work out the various needs
  • [In my opinion,] customer service has been severely lacking. [I feel that] ever since it got moved to FL, the quality of the account managers has gone downhill. [In my experience, the] time to resolve issues takes an extremely long time, and there have to be multiple parties involved, and usually, the issue does not resolve itself timely.
  • ADP could ask for more feedback from its users. [In my experience,] whenever I have an issue and point something out, the representative I'm speaking with doesn't do anything about it. I've submitted multiple ideas using product feedback, and I hear nothing back ever. Focus groups or one-on-one sessions with a screen share would be helpful if we could speak with a developer following said idea submissions.
  • We have an assigned representative for [ADP] Workforce Now, but when we call in for Time & Attendance, we get whoever. It would be helpful if we had one designated person for Time & Attendance as well.
Overall, I think that this is one of the easiest platforms that I have used in my HR career; however, whenever new features have been added, [in my experience,] it screws up some of the old stuff and tends to make things way more complicated. ADP does a better job of sticking to Payroll/Time/HR functions rather than the extra add ons. Benefit support could be improved as there's no dedicated representative. We do not use any additional add ons, but it seems like ADP has one for everything and charges an arm and a leg for said services.

Workforce Now is utilized primarily for timekeeping and payroll services.
  • Easy to use.
  • Cost effective.
  • Variety of services/products available.
  • Constant updates usually end up creating some technical issues, have to wait for bugs to be worked out.
  • Reporting functions could use improvement; i.e., some reports don't work at all but they stay in the list.
Rather than managing payroll in-house, this is a good option for small, mid-size and large companies. Quarterly tax filings are taken care of, easy to update DOL rate changes, uploading of time & attendance and submitting payroll is usually a seamless process. Help Desk Support tickets are great for non time-sensitive issues.

It is used as a total HRIS system for our company... from recruitment to payroll and everything in between.
I have had multiple issues with ADP starting shortly after implementation. Most recently I have asked for analysis and support with the applications we currently pay for with ADP and was then quoted a ridiculous cost of $10,000 to have someone look at the applications we have, see what we are using efficiently or not, and then provide some training in areas that we feel we have not had any training. With the cost we currently pay to use ADP, and the cost of the products there should be training offered at the time of each product being implemented. The only training I have received was at the initial implementation when everything is being thrown at you and you don't even know what questions to ask because the product is brand new to you.

We are using it for outsourcing our payroll and tracking time. All employees are clocking in and out so time is recorded accurately. It helps with timing issues and saves time with payroll and handing out checks each week. Everyone is adjusting to the new ways of using ADP. It seems to be moving along in the right direction. So far all is good.
  • Customer service with handling issues.
  • Saves time when preparing payroll.
  • Employee times.
  • Paydata batches.
  • Correcting times.
We are new to ADP Workforce Now at Ruffin & Payne. As a practitioner, it seems to be a well organized company with great people to help with any issues that arise. Everyone has been very pleasant to deal with. After learning the system it is very user friendly. I would recommend to colleagues especially after I learn all I need to know.

Our Accounting and Human Resources departments use this product the most and find it innovative and constantly a work in progress to maintain a high standard of user friendly programming. They are open to suggestions and thrive to excel. Our Service Team is especially knowledgeable and helpful. Their experience is priceless to me personally as I had limited knowledge of how to use the new Time & Attendance module we recently implemented. They are vital to the success of my department in particular (Payroll). Sanjanette P, Joe P, Ernest C, Tanzie A are among the ADP members that I have learned so much from, that I am eternally grateful. The custom reporting team is exceptional and among the most patient and diligent folks I have worked with. Thank you for the opportunity to share my perspective with you.
  • Knowledgeable and thorough.
  • Excellent follow through.
  • Provides backup info and links to further assist the task in question.
  • They strive for and achieve excellent customer service.
  • The EET module does not communicate with WFN and it gets increasingly frustrating when codes and information do not align, requiring a LOT of manual correction.
  • Sometimes an update will push through will little explanation of how to use it. Most recently, the Home Page Customize option. Even though there was a webinar for it, it didn't allow all of us to access it in the manner suggested (there was a Service Connect ticket we issued in regard to this if you wanted to refer to that for more info).
  • The Home Page does not allow us to link our Job Postings to our website for direct application for a posted position.
  • Reporting in WFN gets tricky and confusing. I don't always know what is going to show up when I enter Regular Hours as an option on a new report. It doesn't include the items I thought would be included (i.e. Evening and Night shifts, not just Day shift). This goes for OT as well. Additional columns have to be created in order to gather all the information.
  • WFN reports do not allow for information to be pulled from different areas within WFN without skewing the information. For instance, if most of the information is needed from pay statements, but I want terminated employees included, the report skews the terminated employees.
  • Because some of the information in a WFN report comes from pay statements, that report cannot be run by date range.
If you have several different pay codes, this product is the way to go! The EET system doesn't always recognize the scenario you intended but allows for manual manipulation to make it accurate.
However, if changes are made to the time card totals, and not on the actual time card, this skews report information as well. We recently had a custom reported created and every time we got one thing right, it skewed other information. There was a Service Connect ticket for this as well. Custom Reporting actually worked on this from May until early September and the report is still useless to us. But they tried, Oh My Gosh did they try to make it work. Kudos to their diligence. It is unfortunate that all that time and money was wasted.

ADP is being used by our organization for payroll, recruitment, time keeping, compliance, etc. We love the fact that we are using one system; it has reduced our errors significantly! We used to transfer data from one system to another, and we had errors every payroll run. It was not a good look for us. ADP has changed all of that!
  • Compliance.
  • Tax updates.
  • Law/regulation updates.
  • ADP recruitment.
  • Customer service timeliness.
ADP is great for growing organizations. We would not have been able to keep up using 4+ software programs - now we have one, and it has simplified the process exponentially. ADP stays on top of regulation updates and notifies the appropriate personnel. Customer service from the Service Team could be improved in terms of timeliness.

  • Payroll processing.

  • Historical data.
  • Manual checks function.
  • Custom reporting.

ADP is a powerhouse for many things, however, like all programs, there are some kinks and issues. System lag on payroll days would be my biggest complaint, but that is due to the many users on the system at the same time.

We use ADP Workforce Now for payroll and benefits administration.
  • The wizards are great
  • The layout is logical and easy to use
  • Reports are easy to run
  • We sometimes lose functionality with upgrades
  • Some errors are difficult to fix
  • We've had problems with the approval process following our chain of command
I think [ADP] Workforce Now is great for companies of all sizes, because it is versatile. The single database for HR and payroll makes it a perfect solution. My company has thirteen companies under one umbrella, so there are a few things, like transfers that are more difficult in ADP [Workforce Now].

We use ADP [Workforce Now] to process our payroll's direct deposits and tax filings as we input our payroll in Sage and send over the file. This is a handy feature as it allows us to do more payroll cost tracking by [using] Sage as well. We also use ADP [Workforce Now] for our new hire onboarding, I-9 implementation, which is verified and is much better than the paper method. Our employees download the app and access their paystubs, [...] upload information, make changes, and see their retirements. They could not access via an app with our previous payroll provider.
  • Immediate report processing
  • New hire onboarding
  • Paid sick leave & vacation time accruals
  • Customer service isn't always that knowledgeable
  • Correctly processing when employees use sick and vacation time
ADP [Workforce Now] is definitely needed for companies [with] employees receiving paystubs paperless, who want to access their 401K immediately, particularly for larger companies.

The switchover was somewhat difficult as we are not a large HR department, and so much of the initial setup processes were not done by ADP alone but rather step by step through conference calls. This wasn't disclosed to us upon the start.

We mainly use [ADP Workforce Now] for employee tracking and payroll. We haven't set up the onboarding feature yet. WFN does not address problems, [I feel] it creates them.
We are former ADP RUN clients and miss it.
  • Staff is friendly but limited to WFN capabilities.
  • The sales rep asserted that transitioning from RUN to WFN would be "seamless," [I feel] it was far from that. Nightmare is the word I use to describe the switch.
  • [In my opinion] WFN's so-called "support" is anything but that. [In my experience,] the contact support, create a case system that is in place is [I feel] lacking on many levels especially when we have a problem that needs immediate assistance (ie payroll processing errors and many glitches.)
  • I am still not entirely sure our tax reports and filings are being handled in a timely manner.
  • We received notification that taxes weren't filed. Part of the problem is that our company ID number had been entered incorrectly, not only that but a different company name had been assigned. [In my experience, there were] crossed "wires" at every turn.
  • The functionality of WFN is not intuitive. There is no comparing RUN to WFN - I would think WFN would be better but it is not.
If someone were looking for a Payroll system, I would tell them to use anything but [ADP Workforce Now].

Used by our whole organization for payroll processing use, only HR has full access.
  • Helpful, always responding quickly when assistance is needed.
  • Accuracy; Payroll reports and important tax documents always taken care of.
  • Easy to access and use for all.
  • Up-to-date information is always available, especially with the 2020 Covid-19 year we all had.
  • Sometimes when new processes are rolled out it causes issues with other functions.
  • Creating reports can sometimes be difficult, but they are always available to help create what you need.
  • I really like the new client service tab when you need help or have questions, but sometimes the response is not as quick with certain reps [as] you may need. Depending on what your question [is], it's nice to hear someone talk you through what you have to do instead of being given a link to the Bridge.
  • The new way the EEO reports are when filing the information does not have enough detail like the old reports. We like to see names to be sure we have everyone where they should be before filing.
I've worked with ADP [Workforce Now] for many years in previous [jobs] and [...] my current position. In my previous job, they used Paychex, which was my first time working with them. ADP [Workforce Now] is more user friendly, you're not transferred from one person to another when speaking with someone to get answers and the payroll information is done correctly at year end. I had countless issue with Paychex at year end when it came to HSA's and the 401K loans that were not done correctly. The issues were always on their end. 1099's for employees who may have left the company and had outstanding loans were not done and sent out 2 to 3 years later. I would get calls from previous employees who would ask me what they should do because the 1099 was sent way past the deadline & their taxes were filed. The process for our open enrollment for health insurance was a disaster, it was to be completed online, but employees had problems getting it to work. They didn't test it enough before rolling it out.
In my opinion, Paychex and ADP [Workforce Now] are the two main payroll services in the Buffalo, NY area; ADP [Workforce Now] is far more advanced in technology, accuracy, and client assistance when it's needed. I was so happy when I accepted another position, and the company used ADP [Workforce Now] for payroll!

ADP Workforce Now is used in my center and in about fifteen other centers under the same umbrella. I use it for payroll, tracking hours, staff signing in using facial recognition, onboarding, time and attendance, all employee documents, and more. I haven't experienced any major issues as of yet. They are always available to assist when needed.
  • Keeping track of employee records
  • Alerting me when needed
  • Ease in Payroll processing
  • I have a lot of trouble with the disciplinary section
  • Required fields are not always starred (*)
  • Some of the wording can be confusing
Payroll and time and attendance [are] very easy to do and understand. I often help my colleagues with different functions and procedures. Some verbiage is confusing and difficult to understand. For example, the word "archive" is used often, but I am not sure where it goes once I archive an item. [Electronic] I-9 management is difficult to completely understand.
