ADP is our payroll software. We use it for every aspect of payroll. ADP keeps track of all of our employee's pay, also we utilize the tax service.

  • Too many upgrades and changes - too many are for aesthetic views
  • Not giving us the option to not change the appearance of pages.
Well suited - Since we have not time to waste, when payroll is in error, it allows me to correct to get back to entering payroll, instead of calling customer service which takes forever.
Not well suited - Having personal customer reps that are so overwhelmed that they can't address any issues until 24 hours have gone by. The whole idea of a personal rep for our company is to have them address issues immediately. We have now find it's actually better to wait forever on hold to get a random customer agent, then wait a whole day to have an immediate need fixed.

We have 2 companies and over 200 employees and have been processing payroll for over a year through ADP's Workforce platform. We had previously used the Run platform for over 10 yrs. The workforce platform has been fine for HR related tasks but an absolute nightmare for payroll. The nightmare began with set up, an implementation team that changed, lacked knowledge and skills for proper set up. Ongoing issues with disappearing tax codes, and tax errors. Site functionality is pathetic, numerous technical glitches, tax returns not available within the reports module, to be told to use a work around, for the "workaround" not to work either. 4 support tickets and hours on the phone and still can not access or get copies of our local tax returns. Their support is frustrating at best but more often than not worthless. It takes 2-3 phone calls to solve an issue or to get a support ticket. Paychecks voided only to reappear and after 4 phone calls and the pay showing as corrected to still be included on their W2's. We have been grossly overcharged for tax set ups and filings in local jurisdictions with 0 amounts that were never needed and should never have been set up and we made numerous attempts to correct. Numerous calls to be told it was fixed and charges corrected, the charges stopped for 1 month and then started again. There have been more issues and errors in 1 year than in the previous 20 years of processing payrolls and the fees were 4x more not including over a hundred hours dealing with issues and support and again we still have no access to our local municipality tax returns that were filed, if they were filed and 30 days after the qtr end no access to our state UC returns that are needed for an audit.

I have done payroll for over 25 years for 3 businesses with over 300 employees. I have used multiple other platforms as well as doing payroll 100% in house. I have used ADP's Run platform with no issues. Workforce now has been the worst experience and in 1 year we have had more problems and errors than all of my previous years combined all while costing us 4x as much. Support is abysmal and at times completely wrong. Numerous support tickets for the same issues and the problems continue. It has gotten so bad we started videoing our use of the platform to show and document the numerous issues. There is 0 accountability on ADP's behalf for numerous system failures and in no way have they come close to delivering on the product we were sold and have been overcharged for. 4 support tickets in 2 months trying to gain access to the tax returns we paid for, still no resolution. They have not even offered to email or mail a copy of the returns. We have no idea if they have actually been filed since we can not view them in any way through Workforce Now, ireports or smart compliance.

We currently us ADP Workforce Now to have staff members clock in and out, look at their pay, submit vacation time off, etc...ADP Workforce Now is working wonderful for the company. It allows us to keep everything in one place, under one program. The only thing that I personally don't like it when we need to submit time off we have to click a link that opens another window in order to submit the requested time off. That is the only problem that I think would need to be reviewed and planned differently.

I have used ADP Workforce Now since around 2019 and find it much more intuitive now. When I used it a few years ago it did not seem very modern. Now, with the updates to make it more user-friendly and intuitive, it is much better to use. I would recommend it.

We were with ADP Workforce Now for one year. The expense was over $48,000. From day one, the payroll was wrong. In my opinion, the software is antiquated. In my experience, software problems every payroll. If you wanted help with HR. Maybe you will get an email in two weeks. By that time, the situation has resolved or it was too late. By March of last year, I wanted to leave. They assured me, they would do better. In my experience, they never set up the employee deductions correctly. 2 payroll cycles some employees did not get paid, because they took too many deductions. In my experience, they left us with no solution and just a "sorry". In my experience, they never filed our State taxes because they did not have our Alabama SUI number. Hello, we work in Maryland. We have no Alabama employees. It is March, I still do not have the 940's. In my experience, they continue to take $ 3500 per month from our Bank account and we have not used the service since Dec 2023. Please save yourself money and time, in my opinion, ADP Workforce Now does not value your time. I think this is the worst payroll service-ever.
Never. In my experience, the sales rep sold be a non existent service. Of course, he is no longer with the company. In my experience, no follow up on problems and no solutions provided. Every payroll, we spent hours on the phone with ADP Workforce Now so they could figure out the software problem. In my opinion, not a company that values their clients. We still do not have our 940's. We need this to be filed with the state and it is needed for our workers comp audit.

As an HR/Payroll department of one ADP Workforce now was able to assist in automating many different processes. We currently use the onboarding function which allows new employees to complete all new hire paperwork including the I-9 within ADP prior to their first day. Then through ADP I am able to verify through the E-verify system. All documents are saved within the profile. We also utilize the time and attendance function which has been a godsend with our technicians we are able to capture all of the necessary information to be able to bill back our customers. Vacation policies are built in so accrual rates automatically increase when necessary, rollover amounts occur automatically. We also use it for merit increases and bonuses. Manager are able to put in their recommendations and then it goes through the proper approval process before automatically being added to the payroll. I have had great experience with customer service and would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to change. Oh are you adding a new state? ADP handles the tax filings for you as well.

I have used ADP Workforce Now for over 8 years. The representatives are always helpful to resolve issues when they arise & keep us updated as compliance laws are always changing.

ADP is well suited for handling the majority of our payroll and HR needs. Adding new functions are generally easily carried out with the ADP client service team as our company continues to grow. Reports generate fairly quick and are accessible in multiple areas, which is convenient. ADP also provides numerous way for our team to clock in and out which is also a nice benefit for when the main clocking option is currently unavailable.

Our business is a non-profit that operates decentralized with a large number of the workforce comprised of 1500 employees, most are part-time variable hour and seasonal staff. Our operations span over 4 counties. We utilize most all products ADP offers. We struggle with quality candidates in recruitment, communication/training, retention, stats, and limited funding large spans of control/streamlined approached to staffing due to limited funding.

  • Recruitment/Sass relationships is terrible, and you will spend 5 calls getting shuffled back and forth. SASS doesn't respond to emails.
  • More functionality, limited. Keep adding on to the base level system. A lot of times it takes a lot of keystrokes, steps, and area/screens to complete simple routine functions. In our high paced dept, is in large numbers.
  • All the segments. None of the groups/systems or add on services work together work nor do the products. Overseas call support is very hard, especially in Tech support and Report. I get cases for tech support that take a month a least and I had to work around the system because it was a new hire. They take too long to resolve issues.
  • Implementation is rushed. Should include services like Professional Services does in helping you get set up for it to be efficient not frustrating where you could lose customers because the support teams just do what you ask to fix/do what you are trying to do. They don't help get things set up to use the system the best way.
ADP has gotten so big and their products/support teams do not work together well. Tech support takes at least a month to resolve tech issues. Onboarding has been a nightmare but our only avenue to create less manual entry. Too many areas/keystroke/screens to complete routine tasks.

I use ADP Workforce Now for Onboarding, Recruiting, Payroll processing, Benefits, Smart Compliance, and Reporting. The Onboarding module has decreased the time it takes to onboard an employee dramatically, putting the new hire in charge of the process. The recruiting module flows directly into the onboarding reducing a lot of data entry. Smart Compliance has recently become much more user friendly, giving the user access to information we previously had to call ADP to obtain. Overall, ADP Workforce Now has become much more user friendly, allowing the company to reduce costs incurred with overtime. The Human Resources, Payroll, and Finance departments are much more efficient, not having to rely on ADP help desk to solve minor issues.

I use ADP for hiring and onboarding of new expatriates, for their monthly payroll but also to get reports and manage vacation accruals through Time and Attendance.

Our company creates and implements lighting designs for major events and luxury brands. We employ a core team of designers and engineers who plan the work and interact with clients and then a we have a massive network of casual employees we bring in to execute the design. Each design is bespoke, technically complex, and short term, so our implementation teams are specially selected for each job to ensure we have the right people with the right skill sets on the job site. This creates several payroll challenges, I have a huge pool of folks who may or may not work for us in a given week, quarter, or year, and there's really no way for me to know which employees will get a lot of work and which ones will only work for a day or two. I was looking for a payroll company that could handle the expansion and contraction of our label pool without requiring a bunch of busy work from me. ADP Workforce Now appeared to be that solution.
  • ADP Workforce Now only bills clients for how many employees are paid in a cycle rather than billing for every "active" employee. In my research, they were the only major US payroll company with this billing option. Since our company goes from paying 20 people one cycle to 150 people the next, this is a very important cost control measure for our company.
  • In my experience, the transition to ADP Workforce Now from our old provider was a nightmare. By far this was the worst Implementation team I've ever experienced. Taxes and PTO were messed up for months. I had to say the same things over and over again in meetings. In my opinion, there was very little work done on my account between meetings and it was abundantly clear that my emails were not getting read. We spent most of the zoom calls in silence listening to the implementation manager type questions to "the tech team" and mutter to himself.
  • Overall, in my experience, customer service is very, very, very bad. For us, it takes days to get a reply and you are encouraged to just scroll through online forums looking for answers. I take a lot of my questions to Chat GPT these days, it's a lot more efficient for me.
  • In my experience, there are HEAVY limitations on what the system can/can't do. And, in my opinion, when you run up against them the response from ADP Workforce Now is just a shoulder shrug and "well that's how it works, what can you do about?" I believe there is zero attempt to find a creative solution or explore writing a custom script. The sales team told me they had "best in class technology." That has not been evident in my case.
  • Getting employees to engage with ADP Workforce Now has been challenging for us. The User Registration Codes expire long before the employees use them, I'm constantly receiving "I can't log in" emails. It's a true drain on my time and an explosion of my workload.
I would not recommend ADP Workforce Now to anyone in my industry, I think it is terrible at supporting temporary and casual workers who don't need a bunch of bells and whistles, they just need to quickly log in to a website and look at their check stub. In my opinion, it seems to be built for small - to - medium size business with regular full-time and part-time employees working regular schedules.

I use ADP to process payroll. Our newest issue is using the PTO in ADP. We used to keep it in our other system and only import the PTO. We have been struggling with getting accurate balances and accruals and have struggled to get good answers. Sometimes we get more of a mess than help.

  • The new tabs to make it easy to switch back and forth from the employee pay and benefits pages
  • Allows employees to view their information, easily
  • I absolutely love the chat feature but sometimes I get such advice that things are made worse, I would love more knowledgeable reps
  • I get a lot of errors on payroll day about not being able to save changes and it really slows me down and sometimes I miss things because I thought they saved.
  • I wish I was better at reporting but at summit the reporting sessions don't really get focused on payroll
Overall ADP is user friendly but I wish we received more consistent help.

We implemented in 2019 about a year ahead of the COVID-19 pandemic. We quickly realized how fortunate we were in doing so once the pandemic hit and remote work became commonplace. W do not know how we would have managed time and attendance, payroll, recruitment and onboarding remotely with the paper laden processes we had in place beforehand. ADP has helped us improve our efficiency and accuracy of data and processes allowing more time to focus on other objectives. Compliance and ACA management is managed with less time and effort.

As a Benefits Plan Administrator, I find that I have significantly more time than I used to when managing the open enrollment process. Since the process is an annual one and ADP releases many software updates throughout the year, we always request an ADP OE Specialist during the OE season. Each year I find our assigned ADP representative to be knowledgeable and extremely helpful.

Our agency uses ADP WFN for data, payroll, recruiting, performance management and many other functions. ADP WFN has robust reporting opportunities and is consistently updating this SAS to keep current with needs of different industries and types of employers. <br><br>For our organization, HR specifically enters all payroll, training, and compliance items, we also track and monitor compliance using ADP. After five (5) years using this system, we are still learning about the system and all of it's capabilities. I personally would like to become ADP certified so that my understanding and knowledge of how the SAS works will continue to grow and assist not only the organization with working smarter not harder, but also lends the opportunity for user training. So far, our agency is very satisfied with the functionality of ADP WFN.

  • When returning a manager from LOA, an option needs to be available to restore all direct reports to this manager without having to manually perform this function, the reassignment is available in the wizard putting the manager on leave and needs to be added to the wizard for returning these kinds of employees back to active status.
Great system, always updating to the latest and greatest which is helping business professionals work smarter, not harder. However, I am not sure I know how to answer this specific question regarding scenarios.

Time and attendance instead of paper timesheets (I can read), also use HR functions – schedules, reports, ACA, and of course, payroll processing with tax returns.
  • Educational learning of the product.
  • Timesheet ease.
  • Timing of updates - when they are done that there are not a lot of errors for the main processing day.
  • Service connects - that it does not take more than 24 hours to at least get a response that someone is working on the problem if not corrected.
For everyday payroll, time, and attendance, it is great. If you are in a heavy tax area (many local, to go with state and federal) you may think twice, or at least take extra time in the setup to make sure all is correct.

We use ADP Workforce Now from Recruiting to Retirement. Our entire employee experience is now being handled in the various areas of Workforce Now. Using one source system allows us to to tailor each step and part of our processes, to better suit our environment and culture. We keep relevant and timely throughout our employee life-cycles. From welcome videos to learning modules to interval surveys that allow us to check the temperature and progress of our employees and initiatives. We also continue to open up new areas of employee self-service to give our employees more visibility and control over their own experiences. ADP Workforce Now has been the most instrumental part of our being able to build upward and outward as our organizational needs change and grow.

ADP Workforce Now is well suited for medium to larger organizations that have someone dedicated to do the work in both HR and Payroll respectively. There are so many areas and so much functionality, that not having someone dedicated to learn and be the SME will likely have your organization under-utilizing the system and thereby overpaying now and even more later when you finally discover what you've been missing for the efficiencies that can be realized.

So far, we never encountered any problems that we think or thought that the organization may not like it. We use ADP WFN for managing our employee's information, benefits, processing payroll, time and attendance, and time off policies. The product helps everything as mentioned be centrally located and connected. Also, it is very user friendly for our supervisors who do not typically use computers on a daily basis.

There is a large amount of customization you can do, however, you have to call in most of the time to have these things enabled or turned on, which can be frustrating because the hold time can be quite long. ADP Workforce is now utilized for Recruiting, Benefits Administration, and Payroll Processing. We currently have two company codes with around 250 employees each. We are able to maintain a separation between our faculty and professor type by having two company codes.
  • The time and Attendance platform is robust and allows us to pay our employees with multiple compensation plans.
  • User Friendly for Administrators and Regular Employees.
  • Communicates law and policy changes within your jurisdictions.
  • Custom Reports can be confusing to create and use.
  • Employee information is in multiple locations. (ie. Pay Profile and Employment Profile.
  • Employees are terminated when moving states and company codes.
Like any program, there are some hiccups. Overall the value of ADP Workforce Now outweighs any annoyances etc.

We use ADP Workforce Now for HR, payroll, e-time, benefits, and keeping electronic employee files. Using ADP Workforce Now for payroll and e-time makes our jobs a lot easier because we can always access employee timecards and then easily import them when it's time to run the payroll. The payroll module makes sure that taxes and proper deductions are always coming out. Benefits and carrier connections have truly made my life easier because I enter it once into ADP Workforce Now and then the data is EDI sent to the correct carrier, so I don't need to enter the same data on multiple websites.
  • Customer Service - I can always get someone on the phone
  • Calculating taxes - I don't need to manually calculate state and federal tax
  • I would like it if better communication was sent out about new product updates. Sometimes, I go into a screen and things are different and I have to relearn it on the fly.
  • Editing the mobile app - I would like it if what is shown on the desktop version was automatically on the app. WAY more of my employees use the app, but I put the most important information on the desktop version because it is easier to update.
Every module we have added over the years has made my job easier, which leaves more time to focus on other aspects of my job.
