I have used ADP Workforce Now for over 8 years. The representatives are always helpful to resolve issues when they arise & keep us updated as compliance laws are always changing.
  • Resolve issues
  • Keep us informed with changes
  • Ease of navigation
  • Speed of pages loading could be faster
  • Time out is too frequent - wish it did not time out while in use
  • Time out warning is not visible - it just shows inaccurate data & spins so it's not clear you've timed out
ADP is well suited for handling the majority of our payroll and HR needs. Adding new functions are generally easily carried out with the ADP client service team as our company continues to grow. Reports generate fairly quick and are accessible in multiple areas, which is convenient. ADP also provides numerous way for our team to clock in and out which is also a nice benefit for when the main clocking option is currently unavailable.

Our business is a non-profit that operates decentralized with a large number of the workforce comprised of 1500 employees, most are part-time variable hour and seasonal staff. Our operations span over 4 counties. We utilize most all products ADP offers. We struggle with quality candidates in recruitment, communication/training, retention, stats, and limited funding large spans of control/streamlined approached to staffing due to limited funding.
  • Payroll is consistent and precise
  • Professional Services Team
  • Onboarding. Has been a nightmare since we implemented it
  • Recruitment/Sass relationships is terrible, and you will spend 5 calls getting shuffled back and forth. SASS doesn't respond to emails.
  • More functionality, limited. Keep adding on to the base level system. A lot of times it takes a lot of keystrokes, steps, and area/screens to complete simple routine functions. In our high paced dept, is in large numbers.
  • All the segments. None of the groups/systems or add on services work together work nor do the products. Overseas call support is very hard, especially in Tech support and Report. I get cases for tech support that take a month a least and I had to work around the system because it was a new hire. They take too long to resolve issues.
  • Implementation is rushed. Should include services like Professional Services does in helping you get set up for it to be efficient not frustrating where you could lose customers because the support teams just do what you ask to fix/do what you are trying to do. They don't help get things set up to use the system the best way.
ADP has gotten so big and their products/support teams do not work together well. Tech support takes at least a month to resolve tech issues. Onboarding has been a nightmare but our only avenue to create less manual entry. Too many areas/keystroke/screens to complete routine tasks.

I use ADP Workforce Now for Onboarding, Recruiting, Payroll processing, Benefits, Smart Compliance, and Reporting. The Onboarding module has decreased the time it takes to onboard an employee dramatically, putting the new hire in charge of the process. The recruiting module flows directly into the onboarding reducing a lot of data entry. Smart Compliance has recently become much more user friendly, giving the user access to information we previously had to call ADP to obtain. Overall, ADP Workforce Now has become much more user friendly, allowing the company to reduce costs incurred with overtime. The Human Resources, Payroll, and Finance departments are much more efficient, not having to rely on ADP help desk to solve minor issues.
  • ADP Workforce Now is extremely user friendly!
  • Onboarding is easier with the new hire using online features instead of filling out mountains of paperwork!
  • ADP Workforce Now's self service options are constantly being added!
  • ADP should be able to contact their clients when there is are technical issues.
  • Notification when upgrades are scheduled instead of logging in to find changes.
  • More free options for recruiting.
ADP Workforce Now is extremely user-friendly and offers a lot of self-service options. When the system goes down unexpectedly, ADP should be able to notify and update their customers.

Our company creates and implements lighting designs for major events and luxury brands. We employ a core team of designers and engineers who plan the work and interact with clients and then a we have a massive network of casual employees we bring in to execute the design. Each design is bespoke, technically complex, and short term, so our implementation teams are specially selected for each job to ensure we have the right people with the right skill sets on the job site. This creates several payroll challenges, I have a huge pool of folks who may or may not work for us in a given week, quarter, or year, and there's really no way for me to know which employees will get a lot of work and which ones will only work for a day or two. I was looking for a payroll company that could handle the expansion and contraction of our label pool without requiring a bunch of busy work from me. ADP Workforce Now appeared to be that solution.
  • ADP Workforce Now only bills clients for how many employees are paid in a cycle rather than billing for every "active" employee. In my research, they were the only major US payroll company with this billing option. Since our company goes from paying 20 people one cycle to 150 people the next, this is a very important cost control measure for our company.
  • In my experience, the transition to ADP Workforce Now from our old provider was a nightmare. By far this was the worst Implementation team I've ever experienced. Taxes and PTO were messed up for months. I had to say the same things over and over again in meetings. In my opinion, there was very little work done on my account between meetings and it was abundantly clear that my emails were not getting read. We spent most of the zoom calls in silence listening to the implementation manager type questions to "the tech team" and mutter to himself.
  • Overall, in my experience, customer service is very, very, very bad. For us, it takes days to get a reply and you are encouraged to just scroll through online forums looking for answers. I take a lot of my questions to Chat GPT these days, it's a lot more efficient for me.
  • In my experience, there are HEAVY limitations on what the system can/can't do. And, in my opinion, when you run up against them the response from ADP Workforce Now is just a shoulder shrug and "well that's how it works, what can you do about?" I believe there is zero attempt to find a creative solution or explore writing a custom script. The sales team told me they had "best in class technology." That has not been evident in my case.
  • Getting employees to engage with ADP Workforce Now has been challenging for us. The User Registration Codes expire long before the employees use them, I'm constantly receiving "I can't log in" emails. It's a true drain on my time and an explosion of my workload.
I would not recommend ADP Workforce Now to anyone in my industry, I think it is terrible at supporting temporary and casual workers who don't need a bunch of bells and whistles, they just need to quickly log in to a website and look at their check stub. In my opinion, it seems to be built for small - to - medium size business with regular full-time and part-time employees working regular schedules.

We use ADP for onboarding, Time & Attendance, job posts, reports, analytics, etc… I personally do the onboarding as well as trouble shooting anything within ADP. I also set up out holidays, PTO, import any changes, and assign practitioner access levels to all of our directors. Overall, we use ADP for the majority of our workflow.
  • Onboarding
  • Reports
  • Assigning policies
  • Crashing and have to clear cache and cookies everyday
  • Clearer instructions
ADP is great for onboarding new hires and allowing them to view our company polices. ADP is also great for viewing paycheck stubs. ADP lacks at being consistent and flowing smoothly. ADP also lacks at assigning the proper policies, allowing us to make mass changes to reassigning employees to new directors without importing, and fails to provide us with adequate support.

It is our main HCM system and is used for all aspects of payroll.
  • It is easy to use.
  • It can be glitchy.
While WFN can be glitchy at times, overall it is a good system and can be customized to fit your business needs.

Currently, we use ADP to process our biweekly payroll for three companies. It helps us with all our calculations, garnishments, and special payrolls. I use WFN daily to help employees with any questions they have on their payroll. We also use ADP to transmit information to other software for insurance billing.
  • They have great support.
  • Reports help in many instances.
  • ADP is always updating and changing its software.
  • Easier search for what report can be used in certain circumstances.
  • Make the bridge less confusing.
  • Offer more classes.
It is pretty simple to follow the steps in calculating payroll and getting payroll processed. Would like them to interact with other programs a bit easier.

At TS, ADP Workforce Now is used for HRIS, Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance Reviews, Payroll, Tax and Banking, and Time. We made the decision ten years ago and have no desire to change. Although there can be issues and struggles, ADP does stand on its word to address issues and correct them. I have had colleagues try other vendors and quickly wish they were back with ADP. I'm also part of a client advisory board, and I can tell you that ADP and their leadership strive every day to address what is needed for the client, what is next, how to make the product even better, etc. It is very eye-opening to see this side firsthand and comforting knowing they keep themselves to such high standards.
  • HRIS that is personalized for the employee and addresses DE&I needs.
  • Payroll, of course! The system addresses all needs, such as deductions, additional pay, premium OT, and shift differentials.
  • Onboarding is an excellent way to stay in compliance and have all documents completed.
  • Tax and Banking and resolution to any issues.
  • System wide issues such as "benefits" on app, "bug" notifications that are incorrect, reports not generating.
  • Better communication internally for file feeds to vendors.
  • Better set up of vendor file feeds - one-stop shop vs. different areas working on parts.
I honestly feel ADP can handle any industry. Are they perfect? No, no one is! I also feel like I have never been told something incorrect or told "what I wanted to hear," then later to find they were wrong or can't deliver. That is huge. There are many platforms out there that may have good intentions, make promises but, unfortunately, can't deliver. Many times the client is too far in and can't back away and has to settle and make a product that isn't best for their work. We have never had that with ADP.

It's being used across our entire organization for employee data & payroll tracking.
  • GL tracking.
  • Manager access to employee information.
  • Communication between departments about new hires.
  • Time keeping
  • GPS tracking would be useful on time and attendance on mobile.
  • E-sign on mobile
  • Workflow implementation.
  • Mobile app could use some improvement .
  • Text messaging & email from inside Adp
Our company is just on the cusp of having a need for ADP Workforce Now - it is a very complicated product, and for our size, it seems cumbersome.

We use it for payroll processing. It has made it much easier to process payroll, and being able to access it from any computer is convenient. We were not able to do that with our previous software. It is much easier to run reports and look up information.
  • Ease of use.
  • Reports.
  • Convenient.
  • Glitches.
  • Customer service.
  • Support.
  • Training.
ADP is well-suited for processing payroll. We used to do everything in-house and it took us a long time to process. Now it is much easier and quicker to process payroll. It is also well-suited for timekeeping. We used to use paper timesheets, and now people can clock in and out, so their times are more accurate. When it works, it is awesome. But there are many glitches, and then people will complain to me that it isn't working, and I have to try to find a workaround and put a service ticket in to get it looked at. Many times it fixes itself before I get an answer back. It would just be nice if there were less glitches.

We use Workforce now for payroll administration, learning management, and HR management. The software helps us organize our employee personnel information, and makes payroll processing easier by automating salaried employees' pay and allowing manual adjustment for anything that is out of the ordinary.
  • Intuitive navigation - easy to find where things are
  • payroll processing - we have all of the reports and failstops to make sure it is accurate
  • reporting - custom reports utilize as much or as little data as we want to include
  • pay profile should be with the employee profile so we don't have to click back and forth
  • in the hire/rehire process, the "done" button is only at the top of the page before I finalize the new hire. So when I review all of the information, I have to scroll all the way to the top of the page to finish the step.
  • learning management notification doesn't exist to tell me when a course is being archived until I go all the way into the learning catalogue.
It is very customizable, so the program can work well for small and medium size businesses that need specific functionality.

I use ADP Workforce Now on a daily basis maintaining employee personal and employment data, tax changes, and banking information. Cost centers, report to managers, etc. We import time and attendance into ADP Workforce Now and process payroll.

I have worked with many payroll processing systems; however, I prefer ADP Workforce Now. I love the reporting and checks in balance features via employee insight. When I submit the payrolls, I am confident that ADP has given me all the tools to ensure accuracy.
  • Easy to Navigate
  • Reporting Features
  • Employee Insight Features
  • Customer Support other than the Bridge.
  • Offer some of the niceties in a package, not everything should be ala carte, pay for each feature individually.
  • Print the 2nd line of the address on the remittance advise.
  • Do not make so many facelifts that are totally unnecessary and do not add value. We are forced to learn how to navigate on a busy payroll processing day.
As stated ADP Workforce Now is my preferred payroll platform. It is easy to use and reliable. Reporting features are great. Checks and balance build confidence. I love using ADP Workforce Now. I do not like all the facelifts that really do not add any value. If it is not broke don't fix it.

We use ADP to process our payroll and utilize the different reports.
  • Calculate Payroll
  • Manage employees, new and existing.
  • Provides different reports for different things
  • Access to older reports exceeding a year
  • Personal profile page could have more items added
  • Easier access to a representative such as IM
I do not any scenarios where it is less appropriate but it is very easy to maneuver. When I need to see if an employee is currently working, the option see is present on the employees job page and if they are are currently on LOA the start date is present there as well.

I have Practitioner access. In my role as Staffing Manager I run different reports for statistics and audit purposes. I utilize the learning to brush up my skills and to figure out new things. I will be implementing the online recruitment soon, I will be going back to learning modules as it has been awhile.
  • The support is usually quick with responses, but other times not so much
  • The Bridge is amazing, found many answers here and even supplied answers for others.
  • The payroll function is ever evolving and it is nice to see updates
  • response time from Account Manager - especially on Payroll upload days.
  • understanding why taken hours doesn't match paid hours for some employees
  • major items not resolved
  • our W2 were sent to print even with major items unresolved resulting in corrected W2 having to be sent
I understand that there is now a new tier available for purchase which basically puts you first in line for questions, but why do we need to pay for better customer service. Shouldn't ADP just provide it?

Process payroll and benefits administration. We are currently implementing recruiting, onboarding, compensation, employee performance, and voice of the employee.
  • Payroll Batches.
  • Tax Set UP.
  • Vendor EDI Files.
  • Address changes, keep the history.
  • Access - be more granular within a subset of permissions.
  • Add a manager on the go, and allow managers to approve timecards and pto requests via the app.
Well suited for bi-weekly payroll processing with no frills. Not well suited for non-profit T&A, need more ability to update timecards post-processing, understanding you can't change what has happened.

ADP WFN and ADP Canada users for eight different company codes. We use ADP Time and Attendance as well as UKG timekeeping with integrations to ADP to process payroll on several different pay cycles - weekly, biweekly, and monthly.

  • Integrations with UKG.
  • New Experience does not always calculate previews or finalize approvals easily.

At Moxtek, the ADP Workforce Now is used for time clocking and payroll. We also use it for onboarding and data analysis. The issue that the company used to face is the reporting was done manually, and it was hard to track data. Now using Workforce Now has allowed for automating the process of reporting and is correct compared to the manual entry.
  • Benchmark data.
  • Onboarding
  • Reporting
  • Adjustable payroll schedule or easier to add payroll.
  • Wage adjustments are made at the beginning of the pay period to be paid correctly.
  • Product code allocation could be improved so that timebank does not need to be used.
Workforce Now is a great tool for any company of any size because you are able to customize the product to your needs. As long as training is done correctly the company is able to utilize the program to its full potential. When first starting to work for Moxtek they were unhappy with the product until I showed them what could be done with it when set up correctly.

We use WFN in full for all our payroll and HR needs. The biggest issue we face is that our system is not set up to support what we need. We do not have the option to track grants and have been told multiple times by multiple different people that something that should be very simple is impossible.
  • Friendly Customer Service.
  • The new home page is much easier to use and navigate compared to the classic view.
  • Quick to escalate problems with the software to tech support.
  • Unable to create the reports needed.
  • Has taken weeks to get someone to help me remap our GL.
  • Constantly being told no and or being transferred around to be told someone else handles it.
  • Not all associates know enough about the software to help with simple problems.
  • Training provided is not sufficient to complete tasks, too little detail.
ADP has improved the WFN experience in recent years, which is a great upgrade! However, there are some kinks that still need to be worked out, and very little assistance in working them out as most customer service don't know an answer or transfer you around until you hang up.

I enter new hires from the Hiring wizard; I enter all deduction codes from medical garnishments to our company-specific codes. I do all employee changes within WFN. I process payroll by entering in vacation, commissions, and Driver pay that are not on a full-time or part-time status (on-call, miles paid). I will also submit payroll if our Accounting supervisor is out. There are times after we have had them enter new information that some of our reports do not come through correctly, and we have to call support back to have those automatic reports regenerated (Payroll reports that come with running of payroll, set up at implementation.) They are usually quick to fix the issue and get it back online. At the first of the year, there is another file to upload to make our deduction codes load into ADP, and they are always happy to explain that.
  • Wizards for hiring/Terminating.
  • Lets you know if there is an error when processing payroll (missing punches etc.).
  • Keeps track of all the changes made through the payroll period and has a report for such.
  • When a garnishment has hit the 0.00 owed, it should delete the code from the deduction area automatically. Do not leave it sitting on the front page.
  • Same with other deduction codes that have a goal limit set to them.
At the previous employer I was at, we used Quickbooks first, then changed to Paycom. ADP is much simpler and easier to navigate, and the level of technology behind the product is larger than the prior two. I enjoy using the bridge to help me try to find my answer or dig through ADP on my own.

We use ADP for our HR and payroll. We are very new to the system, but so far, it has been good. We are still working through learning the systems, but we like that everything can be under one system and in one place for our employees.
  • Payroll processing.
  • Taxes.
  • HR onboarding.
  • There is so much information and possibilities that it can be very overwhelming, and it can sometimes be difficult to get a response to questions.
We have employees in a few different states. I really like that ADP will set up the Withholding and Unemployment for the states (with a fee, of course), but it is nice not to do that myself since every state is different. I wish it was easier to find my monthly and quarterly tax reports. It is very confusing.

Our organization uses Workforce Now for HR, Benefits and Payroll processing. The HR and Benefits capacities are recent additions as we are streamlining processes and looking for accuracy and efficiency. The ability to manage the benefits (enrollment and deductions) through WFN have eliminated human error and saved time in the long run. Next, we will convert the HSA employee and employer contributions to the benefit module. Having employees in many states and overseas demands a provider that can handle the complex taxation. ADP representatives have been helpful and knowledgeable in supporting our employee base.
  • Highly trained customer service representatives. When calling, wait times are usually short. All representatives have a broad base of training so most questions are resolved right away. There is an extensive 'back office' of more experienced team members to address the more complex issues and anomalies. Recent training updates including the common sharing of representative email address for ongoing follow up access.
  • Learning opportunities are available through videos, webcasts, PDFs , conferences and virtual conferences. I have found the quarter and year end videos to be especially helpful. I am appreciative of emails with links to articles with payroll relevance, saving me the time to research.
  • Reporting capabilities are extensive. There are many standard reports that provide the base report with opportunity to customize fields, sorting, etc. And they can be saved for future use, with additional edit capabilities. Also available are fully custom reports, built by the the user, with the option of guidance from an ADP report writer. My experience includes a completely custom created report that I now use on a regular basis. The personal attention and investment of time to get my report exactly as needed was much appreciated.
  • There are some screen printing issues with relationship to the pay statements. There are great capabilities to compare up to 5 pay statements for an employee. The view of information is both helpful and powerful. However, if a printout is desired, it is impossible! It prints with all the underlying layers of data versus what is seen on the screen. So frustrating to have such a wonderful tool available, but no way to print or pdf to share with an employee.
  • As fantastic as the customer service is, my experience has included some very challenging issues. In these cases, it would be helpful to have a dedicated phone line to reach the manager, team leader, or highly experienced team member that has been involved along the way. I have spent much time being transferred, waiting, explaining and re-explaining only to have to wait for a return call from the person I initially needed to speak with.
  • The benefit and payroll modules are extensive and very well integrated. However, in the set up process, it would be helpful to have someone 'lead' the process from ADP along side the client. In setting up some benefits, we felt stuck in the middle knowing what the outcome should look like, but not how to get there. And the ADP benefit rep didn't understand the payroll side, while the ADP payroll rep didn't understand the benefit side. So we, the employer, had to attempt to understand both and guide the ADP reps in the set up. It felt a little disconnected. Eventually, we worked it out, but it seems a more smooth process from within ADP would provide more customer satisfaction.
  • The Self Service module is amazing! What would be appreciated is a dedicated customer service representative to walk through set up with the client. There is a cost associated with that option, and I feel that should be included. There are some tricky set up steps that truly deserve dedicated support.
For a small employer, with very little turnover and few benefit options, ADP may be too costly for the benefit. There are many affordable payroll providers available for small organizations. For large employers with many benefits options, employees in multiple locations, multiple tax jurisdictions and varied pay types (salary, hourly, commission, etc), ADP is ideal. The extended customer service hours, extensive resources for international pay, and capability for multi state taxation is crucial for an international employer.

I currently am using ADP Workforce Now for the payroll processing and taxes for each of the states that we are registered in. The problem that arises at times is that the time to reach a representative can be frustrating at times.
  • The filing of the taxes in each state
  • Record keeping
  • Representatives at times that take time to solve the problem
  • Time limit in reaching a representative
  • The new program to make it more user friendly
It is a professional in filing payroll taxes.

We were exiting a PEO with TriNet due to high costs and poor service so we wanted to bring payroll and benefits in house for cost savings and more control over our own data. I was hoping to have similar implementation experiences as at previous employers but that wasn't the case here at my current job. We were looking for a product that would allow us to build out our employee experience with payroll and benefits enrollment as well as handle our payroll and tax filings in a multi-state environment. The level of service I previously received from ADP was a selling point as well as having many business contacts at ADP. Our team was familiar with ADP but were open to new software platforms that could rival that of ADP.
  • ADP's industry reputation as well as the duration ADP has been in business allows the decision-makers to feel confident in tax filings, resource availability, and virtual classroom training of the product.
  • The new WFN platform is very much improved from previous versions and has many ways to get to where you're going in the platform without having to remember just one way.
  • ADP offers SmartCompliance with WFN as an add-on that provide a resource document for companies in a multi-state environment.
  • The implementation process was very broken and had much room for improvement
  • The Service Center Support is very hit and miss, mostly miss. For example, I can be on the phone with support for an urgent issue with an inexperienced employee that can take well over an hour, or I could have a lucky day and a very experienced employee will answer my call and walk me through the issue in 5-10 minutes.
  • Service Connect in theory is a great idea to log your cases and see the follow up and updates but it is poorly managed. I will start a case with one employee, sometimes it will transfer to another employee, then there will be radio silence. I have to call in to ask for an update and that will create a new case. So very frustrating.
  • ADP's Account Management/Sales Team should be more cohesive and accountable to the client where there are issues in the implementation phase and at least a few months outside of the handoff process.
ADP has been the industry leader in payroll and benefits administration throughout the years. It's a very comfortable choice if you've used ADP before at other companies but making sure the pricing on the various products and services fits your budget is becoming more difficult as more product enhancements rollout. ADP can provide it's clients with the opportunity of being a one-stop shop with payroll and benefits in house without the exorbitant costs of being on a PEO. We have chosen their pay-by-pay workers compensation offering which is one of the best offerings with competitive insurance rates and low admin costs. We also have ADP's 401K service which is a huge value add if you can spare the money with your budget. On the flip side, ADP likely experienced a lot of turnover in 2021 and was not prepared to take on as many clients as it did. We experienced 3 key resignations on our assigned team from ADP and it caused the worst implementation experience from both a practitioner and employee experience, especially after all of the preparation work my team put into this project.
