In our company, we use Adyen to manage payment done by card and auto/renewals. It is used in customer support to manage payments, failed transactions and cancel old auto-renewals when the accounts are not migrated into our new CRM. It is mainly used for billing and payments information and eventually from the CS department and from the finance one. It is the tool we use to recall payments done by credit card when the information is not registered in our main CRM system.
Pros
  • Reckon genuine payments and trust list user when they cannot pay with their credit card.
  • Cancel payment details to avoid auto-renewals.
  • Refund payments in one click to the original source.
Cons
  • When looking for payments details such as last 4 digits card (for instance), it would be great to display more details about the transaction in the results, as the full name of the card holder.
  • The layout is not the best one. There is a lot of room for improvement when it comes to website design.
  • A functionality to disable the credit card details instead of deleting it at all.
Likelihood to Recommend
Adyen is a good tool to manage payments and to switch between different currencies. Easy to understand, despite the poor design, it allows you to manage payments and billing easily. It is pretty useful to refund payments and check the status of refused one. You can trust list users and allow them to pay when they got locked by the system for any reason, or you can understand if the reason for rejection is due to an issue on the user side and advise accordingly.

Adyen is a our payment processor for physical retail storefronts, e-commerce, and call center/concierge, all of which utilize Dynamics 365 F&O, which Adyen is out-of-box solution for. The call center manages our wine club subscriptions, or in other words re-occurring transactions. We are about to launch wallet payments on our e-commerce store utilizing the built-in integration Adyen provides.

  • Would like to see some additional offering for payment terminals
  • QR code payments
  • Pay by Phone App, with no needed development for customers.
Likelihood to Recommend
Well suited for Ecommerce. Checkout is seamless, especially with the addition of wallet payments (Apple Pay, Google Pay). Physical store checkout could be improved due to terminal hardware and customer payments. Terminal hardware could be improved, and it'd be great to have an iPhone app/software delivered by Adyen, rather than having to build in-house.

One of my B2B clients is using an online channel and accepting orders worldwide. During covid time business needs to collect fund while ordering keeping in mind specific payment options and security. Also, businesses want a list of specific payment options which should be available in Europe, China, and the US region. For these regions, businesses that want the list of payment options should be configurable so that options can be available based on the region the customers belong to. Also, businesses are looking for a solution that is already PCI DSS Compliant so that businesses do not have to worry about it. So Adyen fulfills all of these requirements and it is widely used in Europe as well.
Pros
  • PCI DSS Compliant Solution
  • Provided options to configure a specific list of payments, like Alipay, ACH, PayPal, etc.
  • Good support and quick solution for the technical help
  • Well described documentation on technical integrations
  • Drop in framework to display the payment options
Cons
  • Payment APIs and frameworks are getting upgraded but using updated features requires changes on the implementation side.
  • Sometimes error messages are not self-explanatory and we need to connect to support.
  • Adyen portal should support more languages.

We have integrated our eCommerce application with Adyen and the following are the scenarios: Drop-in framework is well-suited and fits very well in our case. Also, it has a secured integration layer with front-end technology. We do not worry about PCI DSS Compliance and audit as API integration works well independently. Also, all of the payment information of customers is encrypted and secured which increases trust in privacy. Different Payment types integration like 2-step verification, account login verification, etc. Runtime configuration to display or restrict payment type.
