Reviews
(176-200 of 225)- Making the tables is very easy and intuitive on Airtable.
- If a teammate makes a change to a cell, it appears instantly on my end without any lag time, which is awesome.
- The user interface is colorful and easy on the eyes. This is important because we spend so much time on our database.
- Filter and group funcationalities are two other very effective ways of looking at the data, can also be done in a layered fashion, and these settings can be saved. It is also possible to hide certain columns.
- Multiple views allow us to see and save the data from different angles, grouped by categories, filtered by selected features, and so on. Switiching between saved views really helps make sense of the information.
- We can easily set data types including dropdowns, date, and formula. Very useful feature.
- Airtable has a form view. Using the form view for entering data is a great time saver, especially for tables with many columns, because it spares me from scrolling the length of the table for data entry.
- Tables can be linked.
- Some more templates containing more examples of linked tables can encourage users to be more creative with Airtable.
- Information on integration with popular visualization tools.
Airtable and Archival Description
- Linking across tables.
- Toggling between views. This allows me to more easily evaluate visual collections containing artwork and photographs.
- Filtering. The method for filtering is very straightforward and I can clearly distinguish the criteria being applied.
- Building blocks. I have just started to use these but I feel they could be more integrated with the view of a table once they are selected.
- Searching across bases. I don't believe this is possible but I've just started to experiment with the 'search' building block.
- Sharing views. There are limitations to the views that are shared. For example, it doesn't look like you can access records that are linked to the records in the shared view.
- Customer service/personal account management. I have had spotty customer service, sometimes having to email multiple times to receive an answer. I also find it somewhat difficult to access information about my account. When I select the upper right hand profile icon, I think it would be more intuitive to see information about upgrades, remove/add collaborators, and my messages with Airtable staff (since they will pop up when current but after that I actually have no idea where to access them once more).
Airtable is Amazing (and a Google Doc killer)
- Amazing templates; never have I seen a company devote more time to creating usable, relevant and creative templates spanning across . You won't find a company that has released this many usable templates from the start ... and continuing to put out good ones!
- Great color options, image options and customization to the databases.
- Easy importability. I was able to bring over my current Google docs and Excel docs with ease.
- I think greater customization is probably the only area I'd recommend. It's disappointing that more color options aren't available, it would be nice to be able to choose any web color and roll with that. Other than that, I wouldn't recommend much else.
Airtable - Thumbs up!
- Users don't need to be coders to use the database features.
- Provides a simple-to-use tool and generates several views.
- In their Help Guides, there is no mention of compliance with Section 508 or WCAG 2.0 Level AA accessibility standards.
- Being able to sort various calendar views helps us in prioritizing.
- Using bases for larger projects and campaigns.
- Being able to tag records with different fields gives us the flexibility to sort and the ability to sort by way of one's personal organization style, not one size fits all.
- Templates and cases are also helpful to find new ways to implement our own uses.
- When you are in calendar view it would be nice to control the information that pops up rather than having to expand the view.
- Airtable is very flexible and can be customized for my needs.
- Airtable makes setting up a basic relational database very simple and intuitive.
- Airtable has user-friendly controls.
- If you lack familiarity with relational databases, it could be easy to just use it as another normal spreadsheet.
- You need to have some initiative to set up your work area--it's not plug and play like some task management systems are.
- Easy to use
- Powerful features
- Very affordable for the depth of functionality offered.
- Could use a few more features around form design.
Review of Airtable from a newbie
- Easy...if you can work with spreadsheets, you can work with Airtable.
- Clever...the ability to link data across tables and use it for relationships that I would expect in database software.
- Flexible...it can attach our table to multiple apps for use in different ways.
- I'm interested in seeing what AirTable does with dashboards and data design. The ability for this software to pull data into more viewer-friendly formats (Boards, other stakeholders) would be truly remarkable.
- Would greatly benefit from the ability to pull data from multiple tables into one consolidated report easily.
Share easily
- It groups things easily
- Linking information between bases
- Color-code and standardize fields -- if I switch a field from short or long text to single selection, Airtable will automatically provide me with a list of entries and color suggestions for them, making them much easier to sort and filter.
- View data -- by being able to very easily pop a spreadsheet line out into an expanded form, I can easily manipulate the information for that item -- without a bunch of scrolling back and forth.
- Form creation -- Airtable data headers can easily be made into a form (sort of the opposite approach from Google Forms) so I can easily embed those into other data fields in my Base. So no swapping back and forth between form creation and spreadsheets -- it's all right there.
- I'm struggling a bit with the "link to another record" data type. I'd like to use the second set of records as a single select lookup, effectively, creating a table with, for example, student names and then referencing that table throughout all my sheets rather than having to change the single select possibilities in each sheet every year. However, the link assumes you're doing a real lookup, i.e. if field x is "blue" then the field will be filled in with "first letter is a b."
- I wish the display for a URL could be hyperlink text rather than the URL, itself.
- I wish there was an opportunity for secure data entry on forms, i.e. password/account management for form submission.
Airtable Saves Your Staff Time, Energy, and Stress
- Dynamically link between tables
- Assign tasks to responsible parties
- Customer support
- Store documents and pictures within a cell
- Some of the higher-level functions are a bit tricky to self-implement
Databases made easy with Airtable
- It is databases made easy: easy to view relations, easy to design forms, views etc.
- It allows collaboration with different views, access rights, and authorisations
- It is online and has an easy to use App
- I can't wait until they find a solution to deal with relations between different bases
Airtable for innovation
- Easy templates to modify, very little training is needed
- If you can use Excel you can use Airtable
- Categorising and searching of items is so useful!
- Public links - absolutely excellent to share to larger number of people
- Direct chat would be really amazing, at the moment still looking at using Slack
- Comment section could be better, @mentions etc.
- Storing of images in a central gallery
- Flexibility: Airtable is insanely flexible, nearly any existing data structure can be replicated and tailored to our requirements.
- Ease of use: Even though it's very powerful, Airtable is very easy for anyone in our organisation to use.
- Automated formula fields: Using the formulas available, we can quickly summarise data without writing bespoke code.
- Kanban views: are really simple to setup and provide a whole new dimension to the platform, allowing us to use Airtable for CRM and project management.
- Limited export functionality: Although Airtable will do nicely for most of our requirements, sometimes we need to export data for analysis in other platforms. Export functionality is not particularly developed and there's scope for improvement. The API provides an option, but requires our developers to write custom code which is not ideal. Having an option to easily export into formats like MySQL, JSON etc would be great.
- The documentation is ok, but could be better. The core functions of Airtable are covered but don't show Airtable off to its full potential. More detailed examples and case studies of what is possible would be good.
- The ability to create summary pages or dashboards would be a big plus, though I believe this is already in beta.
Awesome and simple
- Perfectly simple and effective
- Easy to use and learn
- Easy to input and retrieve information
- I would like to see more options for reports and print-outs of information contains across multiple tables
Airtable: Great productivity and project management tool
- Project Management: No matter the size of your organization you can keep your team accountable and focused on the critical path. You can upload attachments, designate jobs, add information and edit. This is not a spreadsheet, this is a true project management tool.
- Ease of communication and productivity: Emails are a thing of the past. Now the entire team knows where we are at, what deadlines are coming up, and what tasks have been assigned to them without the need for multiple emails or calendar invitations. Productivity has increased and we are getting more projects done with the same amount of resources.
- Inter-departmental communication: organization-wide activities can be easily accommodated, such as our annual celebration of staff and volunteers.
- There is no "app" for Linux distros. This is a minor issue since you can use your browser, but it would be nice to have an actual desktop application for those of us who choose Linux instead of mainstream operating systems.
- While you can use Airtable for free, and it is a great starting point, the charge per user can be steep. A flat-fee for a number of users would make it easier for us to increase the use of Airtable.
- Having the opportunity to integrate Airtable with Skype for Business, GoToMeeting, Prezi and other means of live communication would be fantastic.
Digital Marketing & Communications Specialist
- Airtable captures content calendars that can identify opportunities for variety.
- Airtable helps to associate personas with various content.
- Our ability to reuse content for incoming first-year students makes Airtable valuable as we can see what happened last year and reuse evergreen resources.
- We have small programs and student groups that are unable to afford an account. Adding them to a free account allows them to view our work, but I must be the one that makes changes.
New user experience
- Flexible formatting
- Reporting
- Intuitive
- Too early in my use to tell
Tell me how I'm supposed to breathe with no air (table)?
- Fields : There are so many type fields you can use to enter different type of information. There's a type field for emails, phone numbers, for attachments. You can use formulas, have a check box field etc. I love the multiple select field type: it allows me to filter my database easily to find the exact information I'm looking for.
- Linking to another table: This is the perfect field when you want to create your own relational database. For example, I have a table with all my contacts in one table, and for each type of contacts (members, supplier, organism etc.) I have another table with specific informations for each type. When I change something in one field, I know that this change is made in the other tables where this information is necessary.
- Offline mode: there is no off line mode at the moment. I really hope this will be available soon.
- Multi-level/conditional fields relationships: I would love to have relation between fields (There are relations between tables, but inside a table there's no such thing). The only way I found to have specific fields for a record is to create different views and play with the filters and hide/show options.
Airtable is Trello on steroids
- Calender view
- Easily customizable to your own needs
- Import and export features
- The design of the expanded records could be a bit better
- Pricing is quit expensive, especially if you want to work with a lot of users
My Favorite Airtable
- It's a relational database, but it's easy to use & understand
- Multiple Views means I don't have to constantly re-sort my data
- Being able to pull in data from other tables helps eliminate the duplication that we have on many excel sheets
- I'd love to see charts and graphs as a feature - right now we are exporting back to Excel to do that portion
- Being able to create custom permission levels - being able to edit only specific fields, or allowing a workspace user to access only a portion of the bases without having to invite them individually would be useful
- Being charged per workspace is fine, but often I want to subdivide the bases in our workspace and split them out by theme, or just add headings and sort them differently, which we can't do. If we were charged per user account and that extended to all workspaces, that could also allow us to split each department into their own workspace without tripling the cost.
Airtable was a great discovery!
- Airtable has done a great job of being intuitive and user-friendly.
- Airtable's platform is sleek throughout all of its viewing options.
- The ability to add high-quality attachments to a record is very appealing.
- I love that I can link to other records so readers can have more context.
- I'd like the option to change Airtable's color pallet and icons to bring them more in line with our foundation's branding.
- I'd love for more tutorials and examples for using Airtable's various functions and layouts.
Airtable for Video Production
- Database - each column acts as a database and can be used in multiple spreadsheets seamlessly
- It's a small team so although they do a great job at replying, it sometimes takes a few days for specific questions.
Airtable makes simple, shared table management a breeze
- Fast development of databases either from scratch or from a spreadsheet
- Allowing groups of users to maintain a shared database in a structured manner
- Simplified handling of relational tables
- Would be nice to have a rich text field for formatted text
- API powerful for editing but is limited when one is trying to retrieve table meta data
- Pricing model quick jumps in expense when sharing even the simplest data with a small group of people
We love Airtable!
- Ease of use
- Adding custom fields
- Sorting - looking at a variety of views based on each team member's work load
- We wish we could easily print out a certain record
