Data modeling, prep, and filtering all in one with low to no code. I use it as a replacement for excel and/or python and can knock out a forecast model in no time or take several excel tables and make useful reports and data out of it all while basically seeing my own thought process.

Definitely it is Excel replacer. No need third party SQL GUI tools, even it supports multi platforms at the same time. You can make automations, schedule to work hourly, daily, weekly etc...

It can be used to solve any data problem no matter how small, if you would like to keep repeating the task then this would be the best way to use it. Invest the time to build once and then reap the benefits forevermore.

Alteryx has been challenging at times for us where we have wanted to access data via APIs. Alteryx has excelled at supporting the rapid deployment of complex workflows, bringing a wide range of data sources together quickly and effectively.

Alteryx is best suitable for projects where you don't want dependability on database or analytics team to build your workflow. You can build your data model by understanding the business needs and data by yourself. In addition, you don't have to rely on database team to implement a certain calculation or logic to test out a use case. You can test and validate the data as you create your workflow.

If you are an SME investing to Alteryx and get going with using and producing insights is X20 faster that SAS X5 faster than others. If you are a Corporate Marketing or Corporate Sales unit, A Retail & CPG developing models and deploying, getting ROI, AROI will be X10 faster and bigger that SAS, IBM Watson etc... If you are a FI like a bank or Insurance, you'll be limited in ROI's a bit enterprise scale support and automated reporting functionality needs to be improved, you need to couple with a Big 4 who is well versed in Alteryx like PWC or Deloitte...

Alteryx is offering functions to process, analyse data automated. Alteryx can replays most manual Excel processes. Alteryx can help to streamline data analytics processes, reduce manual efforts and enables data based decisions. I experienced that Alteryx is easier to learn compared with excel and comprises more funcionalities to process larger datasets

We're trying right now to get more people using it at our company so we can send management documented cases for how we can expand and purchase Alteryx Server which will extend the capabilities even more and across more departments. It's been well suited for pretty much everything we do on a repeating schedule. It's worth the time to set up the workflows. When Treasury sends me the bank download now - I save it to a folder and run our workflows and send back 2 journal entries in .9 seconds. (yes - in less than a second it's finished running)

It's intended to be used with large datasets and for recurring processes. It takes time and planning to develop a workflow. For simple and one-time data analysis, it may not be the best use of resources.

Alteryx is well-suited for companies that wish to automate their data pipelines. Alteryx makes it easy to set up the data science and to find ideas from the data that may be worth pursuing. I think Alteryx is also good at making the work product sharable with other professionals. Alteryx has relatively good charts.

One example of where we saw a ROI was through spatial analytics and web scraping. We used Alteryx to browse known event sites, cross reference this with our store list, and generate scripts to upload into our ordering system for common products bought by concert and event goers.

Alteryx is fantastic for bringing together disparate bits of data from various sources files and formats. It doesn't do visualization very well even though there is some functionality built in.

Alteryx is a great tool for data manipulation and transformation. It consolidates multiple inputs well whether thats in one workflow or a more complex workflow that can consolidate hundreds of files. The time savings using Alteryx is irreplaceable and has given team members tens to hundreds of hours back to focus on more value-added work. Taking manual processes and automating them has benefitted both the firm and end user.

Empowering business-savvy employees to begin exploring their own data needs without a DS background is where Alteryx shines. I think for users who have more of a DS background, Alteryx may be a little big slower for them to accomplish the same work they could do with Python or R. It does make scheduling data runs/workflow sharing much easier though.

Anyone that is mostly reliant on SQL and Excel (and some of those that rely on Python/Pandas) for day to day tasks could benefit from using Alteryx. I used to be very reliant on pulling in data from SQL and other sources, then building out reports in excel - I now have it automated in Alteryx to where I just have to hit run.

The best scenario for Alteryx to make the biggest impact is within small-to medium-sized institutions where there isn't a fully established coding/data team in place. While it will ultimately be helpful wherever it is implemented, Alteryx can help these institutions from day 1 and continue lifting that load as you won't have to go back to the same project or workflow every day/week/month.

Alteryx is well suited for really any business that has large amounts of data or just processes they want to automate. The list goes on. The solutions are endless. I cannot tell you how much I love Alteryx and use it to speed up things. The continue releases make it a world class leader

Well Suited Scenarios

• Data Preparation and Integration: Alteryx excels in data preparation tasks, such as data cleansing, transformation, and integration.
• Predictive Analytics and Modeling : It enables users to perform complex statistical analysis and models and algorithms, making it more valuable for cases like customer segmentation, demand forecasting, fraud detection.
• Automation WorkFlows: Amazing for repetitive data processing task, or automated rescheduling.

Less Appropriate Scenarios:

• Real Time data processing, large scale big data processing, Heavy statistical computations.

I would not hesitate to recommend Alteryx to a colleague. Alteryx can be put to almost any data use case and because it's low-code/no-code/code-friendly it can be used by any member of the organization. Alteryx is well-suited to anything that is currently done in Microsoft Excel and for any users who have to perform repetitive tasks.

Our Alteryx proof of concept was to create a reconciliation process handling large data sets (~1 million to ~1 billion). This used to take many hours and in some cases, days. These can now be completed within minutes with much greater accuracy.

Alteryx is well suited when dealing with LARGE data files that need to be converted to different document types, Manipulation of data, and creating standardized workflows to be used a multitude of times.

Less appropriate, simple/ small data files not needing much manipulation. Logical excel formulas could be used to solve the issue.. etc.

If you spend time formatting, blending, or extracting data, it's worthwhile to see if Alteryx would be a good fit for your organization. In my opinion, Alteryx is a good fit if you have 20 or 20000 employees in your company. The time Alteryx saves us more and pays for itself the more we use it.
