AWS world is great to explore!!
Amazon SageMaker is being extensively used by our R&D department for machine learning models development and research purposes. We work in Jupyter notebooks hosted on SageMaker notebook instances rather than notebooks hosted in local machines by doing so most ML algorithms easily run and make our job easy for storing algorithms and applying different data which is a tedious job otherwise.

Feeling AWSome to be part of the app modernization
I feel AWS usage of services by global clients has been the most compared to Azure or Openshift.
AWS service offering's and usage are economical and much more secured. Its has build an ecosystem of providing all the services capabilities under one umbrella . It provides numerous offerings like AI services like Sagemaker, Analytics, Containerization , Server less, Backup, Security as part of PaaS and IaaS capabilities. Hence, I feel that today moving any application to AWS cloud is much more easy and economical compared to other cloud providers.

Welcome to Cloud City
I came from a VMware environment and had used VMware for the past 10 years. The work required to purchase hardware, sign contracts with VMware, install the hypervisor, buy a storage array, configure your network layer, create a VM template, clone the template to VM and configure the OS... It's just too much wasted time and effort to support.
I can create an AWS account and within 10 minutes I can start spinning up new servers and start working.
The time savings alone is what draws us to use AWS.

AWS = Expensive Geek Toys
The decision was made to go with AWS because of name recognition and familiarity by contractors we hired. I checked out Google Compute Engine a few years ago, and it did have similar option set, however Google in general was behind Amazon's offerings.

AWS best to go service anytime.
Amazon Web Services fits best for all levels of organisations like startup, mid level or enterprise. The services are easy to use and doesn't require a high level of understanding as you can learn via blogs or youtube videos. AWS is Reasonable in cost as the plan is pay as you use.

Amazon Web Services is well suited when we have a huge amount of data to store, process, manipulate and get meaningful information out of. It is also suitable when we need very fast data retrieval from the database. They provide a superior product at a fair price which allows us to further our goals and push the limits of what we are capable of as a team / company.
Both the services are in the field for quite sometime. And the biggest competitor of Amazon Web Services is Microsoft Azure. Though, Azure easily connects with Microsoft services like a jelly, even in AWS its so easy. And the best thing is due to its vast variety community following, we will be able to find n number of solutions for any type of issues we face.
Amazon Web Services has a much more seasoned and known set of tools. The learning resources and documentation is much more prevalent and applicable to more scenarios which definitely helps with implementation. Google cloud does offer comparable products, and the user interface is a lot more intuitive in my opinion however AWS is the market standard.
We evaluated Google Cloud and Azure at the beginning of our cloud journey but at that time, AWS was so far ahead of the other public cloud providers that there was no question about whether or not to go with AWS. They have the broadest catalog of services and their support is top-notch.

We have investigated Azure as well, for this specific need it made the most sense to go with [Amazon Web Services], the design was much simpler to get going. We have also used Azure for some of the other deployments that we have done with SaaS systems. These are the two market leaders by far!

Startups, go for it
Our tech team was comfortable with Amazon Web Services and that is why we started with Amazon Web Services. In the meantime, we searched for other services like Amazon Web Services but it seems that facilities like Elastic Bean and the first year free made us stick to Amazon Web Services.

The broad range of services offered by Amazon Web Services clearly makes it a better choice vs competitors like Google Cloud Platform. It also has a more global footprint due to availability across more regions and zones. However if cost effectiveness is the key parameter, Google's cloud offering takes the crown.

If you want to save on internal resources, Amazon Web Services might be right choice for you
We evaluated Azure, Goggle Cloud, and Amazon Web Services during our cloud computing solution decision. We needed the storage and a pre-installed version of a commercial product. As we were not highly demanding in performance, all candidates were sufficient. However, we found AWS was the easiest to set up and the AWS Free Tier was the most economical. Till now, we are happy with our choice.

My AWS experience
Besides Amazon Web Services, there is also Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure, etc. They all provide similar services that can be compared by running a free trial or demo. They may be running different technologies in the backend but their functionality is similar and costs may be slightly different. My preference for AWS is that I trust the brand, and they have been a leader in the cloud platform.

Hassle free Big data infrastructure setup. It's a dream come true.
Using CI/CD and Cloudformation provides a better way to bring up infrastructure. Triggers like S3 file creation to automatically invoke lambda are missing in other cloud vendors. EMR service allows us to use Big data tools seamlessly. Amazon Web Services team support for debugging cluster related issues is excellent comparatively.
