  • Initial benefit is huge, once that settles it takes time to derive incremental savings vs. time spent to master the offering
  • Auto scaling helps with cost optimization and usage monitoring helps to push back against users who allocate more than what they need

  • It has positively reinforced our cloud based service offerings to our clients.
  • Our GTM approach has been remarkably increased with our ability to conduct cloud-powered demos.
  • AWS has empowered our agility to offer a multitude of solution-based service offerings as against a standalone service offering via our platform.

  • We could have the same services with other quality providers for 60% less cost.
  • We could get systems up and running with 1 day or less of system training elsewhere, compared to weeks with AWS.
  • Our security is compromised as basic processes like replacing Private Keys for access are impossible in AWS consoles for EC2 and similar services. We either initiate new server groups or hack out the old keys on the servers by hand.
  • The RDS service cannot be backed up and restored without changing AWS technology, requiring a huge reconfiguration of SaaS servers.
  • Basic DOS protection requires more services, more training, and more complexity. For other services it's built-in.

  • We're able to adjust our compute spend by suspending\powering off systems during off hours
  • Our server up time is higher than it was on premise. Our users are able to work without intteruptions
  • Compared to an on premise datacenter the cost is roughly the same if not slightly higher.

  • Due to the elasticity of cloud, we can scale up or down without any upfront costs, and this have saved a lot for us. During COVID, we have scaled down our resources to 1/10th of the actual capacity, and this had positive savings and this can't be done if its not for cloud
  • Support cost if we have enterprise plan would cost us a fortune
  • ROI would be so high if we opt for reserved type of instances but the catch would be there is lock in period.
