Use Cases and Deployment Scope
I am the first (and as of now, only, as far as I know) user of Apify at my organization. I am currently working on a research project that requires a great deal of data collection from a platform that is traditionally unfriendly towards web scraping. After facing many problems with existing solutions and solutions I built, I decided to give Apify a try. Apify easily handled everything I needed it to handle, and it has opened up more time for me to perform detailed analysis as a researcher.

  • I am not a professional in this particular field, so I do not have anything that I can think of.
Likelihood to Recommend
In my own experience (primarily in academia), Apify is very well suited for web scraping projects that require data collection from websites that are designed to prevent most data collection. I will certainly recommend Apify to my research colleagues and classmates because of its effectiveness in gathering the necessary data and offering a human-friendly interface from start to finish.

Alternatives Considered

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We are using Apify platform on a daily basis not only across our commercial projects but across investment opportunities and internal projects as well. Some team members even use it for a simplification of their daily tasks. Basically, whenever we need to gather and work further with data, we reach out to Apify.
Pros
  • Very well planned and user friendly platform
  • Amazing and very prompt support from the Apify core developers, agile approach in general
  • Apify values partnership as much as their value their customers
Cons
  • The only thing I would appreciate is a more predictable pricing - although this is not really a thing which can be influenced by Apify.
Likelihood to Recommend
Suited for data extraction, data processing, product mapping, RPA, price comparison, web automation, SEO audit.

Alternatives Considered

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We use Apify for data extraction/web scraping of different social platforms and websites. Unlike other tools, Apify is not limited by a point-and-click interface, so we are able to scrape any website no matter how complex it is. Apify actors are very flexible, which allows us to clean, process, and transform data during an extraction and send it to other tools like Keboola for further processing.

Pre-built scrapers are a great way to get started, plus it's free. If your company needs a custom solution, Apify can make your own scrapers.

Apify is our go-to tool to collect information from a wide variety of sources. Apify, in contrast to other programs, is not constrained by a point-and-click interface; as a result, we are able to scrape any page, regardless of how complicated it may be. Due to Apify's high degree of adaptability, we are able to analyze and convert data even while it is being extracted.
Pros
  • To obtain well-structured information from the internet.
  • Providing access to data in a variety of forms via an API.
  • Proxy rotation is already built in.
Cons
  • Managing a big number of people and tasks.
  • Larger scale monitoring system.
  • Allow users to search and replace datasets by enhancing APIs.
Likelihood to Recommend
It is common practice for developers to search for REST endpoints on other websites in order to retrieve data from other websites in a structured format such as JSON. However, not all websites have built distinct REST APIs; in this situation, Apify is quite beneficial. The majority of the time, the data that an organization collects is what is considered to be of the utmost importance. In comparison to the other systems that are currently accessible, Apify makes it simple to supply clean data.

In spite of the fact that I have only been web scraping for a short period of time (a few months), I have found Apify's thorough blog entries and very nice customer care to be quite helpful over the course of my study.
