For our organization, we use Apple iAd to facilitate traffic to our appeals for donations for the foundation. This allows ad-based applications on the iOS store to show our ad and refer people to our website, which helps our set and drives up traffic. It addresses the need for donations and awareness for our small non-profit here in New York.
  • Driving traffic to our website.
  • Increasing donations based on people viewing our ad.
  • The UX (user interface) could be stronger.
  • The original platform is discontinued and had easier functions.
  • Simplify the process of approval.
For our organization, we use Apple iAd to facilitate traffic to our appeals for donations for the foundation. This allows ad-based applications on the iOS store to show our ad and refer people to our website, which helps our set and drives up traffic. Donations are key to our foundation, as this is our only source of revenue.
  • Ad placement.
  • Positive ROI is that our ads increase our donations during giving seasons (Oct.-Dec).
  • Negative is when we want to use this service during other times; sometimes we don't make what we spent on the ad back, making our ROI negative.

I use Apple iAd to set up the Apple Search ads for my company. We mostly use Apple iAD for targeting iOS users for the app install campaigns as this platform, also called Apple Search Ads, is a great tool to target iOS users. Besides, this platform has a great reach and cheaper price compared to other platforms where we run ads to target iOS devices.
  • iOS device targeting
  • Campaign set up
  • Keyword level bidding
  • Negative keywords
  • Attribution reporting
  • integration with Firebase and other mobile measurement partners
  • Slow platform
Apple iAd will be a well-suited marketing platform for your business if you have an iOS app. Unlike other app marketing platforms, apple search ads give a lot more flexibility. It's targeting includes keyword-level targeting as well as negative keywords. It's not a black box campaign tool like the google universal app campaign. Also, the lifetime value of the users acquired through this platform is much higher compared to the other platforms that we have tried.
  • keyword level bidding
  • targeting iOS users
  • Ease of campaign set up
  • Ease of scaling the campaigns
  • High retention rate
  • high LTV of the users
Apple iAd does a really better job compared to Google Ads (UAC or Universal App Campaigns) for targeting iOS users. Besides, it's not a black box campaign like the universal app campaign on google. There is much more control in terms of keyword-level bidding, negative keywords, scaling the campaign, etc on Apple iAd when compared to Google Ads UAC campaigns. Also, we were unable to scale on Google Ads but Apple Search ads worked really well for us

We use it in our company to set up Apple Search Ads campaign on behalf of our clients. We manage all of our clients Apple Search Ads campaigns using the ASA business center. We create logins, set up campaigns, and then analyse results and set up targets. And then we deliver the results to the client. We use ASA with the Appslflyer connection generally
  • Setting up campaigns
  • Easy of use
  • Excelent connection with apple ecosystem and attribution
  • Reporting
  • Very slow platform
  • It is slow and complex to use
It is well suited if your business has an iOS app and you want to appear first in the App Store results. If you have enough budget you can optimize it very well and have good results. But sometimes for some keywords there is a lot of bidding and the CPIs go very hight and it's only a matter of who has more money to invest.
  • We have one more channel to sell
  • Very easy to post ads
  • Doesn't require a tech team to set it up
  • We could scale some apps
  • Not all apps works
  • If bidding for the wrong keyword, can bring you lots of installs but high uninstall rate

It has been used by our department and it was a great solution to create and produce ads for mobile devices. Previously we were developing using HTML5, which is great, but the performance was not on par with iAd.
  • Animations with great performance
  • Better integration with Apple ads platform
  • The workflow is really straightforward and the learning curve is basic
  • It could have a better user interface
  • Could be simpler to test the ads
  • The workflow of prototyping and delivery could be improved, since we work with other developers and it could allow us to share between different computers (like project versioning)
Apple iAd is great for advertising agencies in need for a simpler way to create and develop mobile ads on Apple devices. It really allowed us to improve the team productivity.
  • We could deliver more, so it helped improve the business
  • Clients got more with better results, since it's a Apple solution so it prevents possible bugs
  • Since it's easy to learn, every developer and designer could help us in the process

I developed creative content for Apple iAds purchased by a leading automaker. The ads were intended to highlight specific features of different brand models, targeted toward the demographic audience most likely to be interested in those models. The iAd platform allowed our client to reach said audience on the mobile devices and digital content they use most frequently.
  • Potential to develop entirely new creative content to impress existing proof points on a target audience.
  • Use of intuitive device features that help bring creative content to life in a relevant way.
  • A compelling platform upon which to repackage and represent existing creative.
  • There were certain features of the mobile devices we weren't able to access, such as vibration, which could've enhanced the overall user experience.
  • The development process could've been more streamlined for creatives and marketers not intimately familiar with the platform.
  • More functionality in the initial banners could've resulted in increased engagement.
I think iAd works best when it's possible to create a fresh immersive experience. If you're only using the platform to repurpose content a user could easily find elsewhere, it may not be worth their time or yours. If the product or message supports development of content that provides value, entertainment or otherwise, for a user, the platform offers ample opportunity.
  • Engagement with the content we created surpassed expectations, equating our product with a worthy expenditure of time.
  • Time spent with the content we created allowed for additional opportunity to express our messaging.
  • As far as I know, there was no negative impact.
In some instances, we developed an experience for AdMob simultaneously with our iAd experience, working with both teams on a daily basis. While the Google team was skilled, receptive and helpful, Apple device functionality was broader and thus allowed for a little more imagination in bringing intuitive relevance to the creative content we developed.
