Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We are currently using Applied Rater in our personal lines department to provide home insurance quotes. The system enables us to shop many carriers quickly. We save time "ballparking" the price.

  • Geocodes the address
  • Auto Save Feature
  • Integrates with our customer management system
  • Sales pipeline on the dashboard prompts to follow up on unsold quotes.
  • Instant rates for DP
  • Option for proof of prior auto insurance to include PIP/PD only
  • Show all my carriers
Likelihood to Recommend
Quoting or ballparking an HO3 risk can be done very quickly with minimal input and the system has an excellent system for quote presentations and unsold quote follow up reminder.
Return on Investment
  • Positive impact on quickly shopping rates and reshopping renewals.
  • Positive impact on saving user id & password which is a big time saver
Alternatives Considered
Applied Rater is quotes both home and auto compared to QQWebrater that only quotes auto. Applied also Geocodes the address for accuracy and auto saves the quote while QQWebrater doesn't seem to care about enabling these important features.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope
We've used Applied Rater going on 7 years now and find it to be the easiest and fastest rater out there. We have tried other raters and by far Applied Rater is the quickest and one of the most accurate. The entire staff of agents and customer service reps uses the software

  • Accurate quote results
  • Speed of quote returns
  • Too many timed outs
  • Ever since it was sold to Applied the support hasn't been as good
  • Need more management systems available to export to
Likelihood to Recommend
Applied Rater is well suited for any insurance agency that needs a quick rater for homeowner and auto insurance. There is no support for dwelling quotes (DP3 or DP1, condo quotes (HO6) or renters insurance (HO4). There is no support for commercial insurance as well which isn't as important in my estimation
Return on Investment
  • because of the raters speedy return less time is spent on quoting and more time is spent on selling
  • There seem to be some days where the rater does have server issues. They are few and far between
  • Limited export to some management systems
Alternatives Considered
Applied Rater is a much quicker process than QuoteRush or Ezlynx because of how they request the initial info. It's neatly organized. QuoteRush tends to have much more accurate quote but it is very time consuming. Ezlynx's rater is very time consuming and does not support many homeowner carriers so they are not much of an option for homeowner quoting so Applied Rater beats them out easily
