AppsFlyer is currently the best MMP on the market, which is widely used in my company, not only for paid acquisition activities but for analysis of the relation between paid and organic traffic, therefore it is also really useful for ASO. We're also using the platform for SMM activities, especially the deep-linking feature.
  • Deep-linking
  • Traffic analysis
  • Tracking
  • No LTV data
  • No segmentation of organic traffic
AppsFlyer is a perfect tool for retargeting users through deep-linking. Especially in the case of social media and e-mail marketing. You can easily generate a deep link, which will lead to a specific place within your app. The deep-linking settings are transparent and easy. Appsflyer isn't that good if you want to get specific data on apple search ads campaigns. For example, to see the revenue from each keyword.

I've been using AppsFlyer for the past 4 years of working as a User Acquisition Manager and can't imagine my everyday working routine without it. It is a vital tool for analyzing the traffic and measuring the success + it provides some additional features e.g. Protect360 to identify fraud. AppsFlyer is mostly used by the marketing department, but is also useful for the product team.
  • UI is easy to navigate even if you have 0 previous experience with Appsflyer
  • Raw reports
  • Additional features (Protects 360, Audiences etc.)
  • No predicted LTV
  • Raw data reports have limitations
  • Retention (daily) is limited to 30 days
Amazing tool for all mobile marketing needs - from user acquisition to retargeting. It is hard to find any ad network which doesn't have an integration with AppsFlyer, therefore all advertising activities go smoothly. The process of setting up new ad partners is easy and self-explanatory. I definitely recommend using AppsFlyer as a primary MMP.

AppsFlyer is used mainly by Marketing and Analytics, but since we rolled out deeplinking recently it is also been use by the Liveops team. We use AppsFlyer to attribute our installs correctly through tracking links used on mobile acquisition partners or to external partners such as influencers and web traffic for all our games.
  • Very visual (graphs, charts, etc.).
  • Excellent and fast support.
  • Great customer success managers that think with you to improve your attribution.
  • Amazing insights in reports and yearly index they push out.
  • Great events (has to be said as well).
  • A good variety of tools to not let any install slip through the cracks.
  • Exports of data are slow, even if files are light and only contain little data (this is an issue that I've experienced for a few years already).
  • Dashboard sometimes needs to be refreshed in browser if data is not showing.
  • No performance data per creative.
I have been using AppsFlyer for almost 5 years now and I am very happy with them. In those five years I have tested Branch and Adjust as well to benchmark, but I always came back to AppsFlyer as my go-to attribution partner. 100% recommended!

We are using AppsFlyer to get all the events data that are happening in the app and website of our company. AppsFlyer collects all the data for us and we analyze it in Power BI, join the data with other sources to get more useful analysis to make the right choices and changes in our company.
  • Grab all the events in apps.
  • Provide us all the data in only 6 hours since the event was done.
  • Really powerful and easy UI.
  • Improve the contact center.
  • Improve the install and uninstall events to be more accurate with the appstores.
  • Take more into account the suggestions.
I recommend using AppsFlyer to companies that want to retrieve events from apps. AppsFlyer is really accurate recording events in apps but with web events is not as accurate as it should be. For this, if you want to record only web events AppsFlyer is not your option. Just in my opinion.

We use AppsFlyer for attribution, tracking, and events for our real money gaming app named Playship. It is a great app for casual gaming with arcade games like carrom, pool, etc., and one of India's leading gaming ventures. We have plans to grow this app for users across India and are currently in the phase of user acquisition and retention. We use various 3rd party ad networks and ad agencies, and it is useful to attribute the media sources of acquisition using AppsFlyer.
  • Attribution
  • Events tracking
  • Reporting
  • Cost analysis
  • Recommendations
  • Analytics
  • Cohort analysis
If you are spending on multiple sources to acquire users for your app, then it is good to use Appsflyer to attribute and track the media sources, as this will help you understand which are your most efficient and most effective sources for marketing. You can also compare the sources and see which ones have the potential to scale as per your value or volume targets.

Appsflyer is our platform for attribution. It is used by the entire company, but especially by the Operations and Marketing teams, for day to day results. It helps us identify where our users are coming from, which channels are bringing the most valuable users, and understand where we should be focusing our attention in order to increase our app installs and conversions.
  • Mobile attribution
  • Deeplinking
  • In app events analytics
  • Raw data report download: being able to select which metrics to download and not the entire file, which normally is super heavy.
  • Retargeting attribution: how to consider both install and retargeting attribution at the same report.
  • Google Ads granular data: being able to track ad group and ad level data from Google Ads on Apsflyer, as it is possible for Facebook Ads.
It is very useful for attribution and it meets all the requirements and use cases for this topic. I think it is one of the best platforms for this. For retargeting and app engagement (events and user behavior) it could have some improvements, as to have more funcionalities and more precise data.

We are using AppsFlyer in order to have a comprehensive image of the performance of our mobile app. We are collaborating with our media agencies from several markets in order to make sure we are tracking all the media campaigns we are running and we are using the deep-linking capabilities of the platform to connect with the other assets we own. This way we are able to assess which media sources are the most engaging or the most efficient for attracting new users.
  • Extensive deep-linking capabilities that allow you to track all the channels
  • Various ad networks available to integrate
  • Very good knowledge base both for the developers and for marketeers
  • High level of proactivity for developing new features based on customer needs
  • More options for clients that are not doing media buying on their own, but through media agencies
If you have a mobile app that is used across several countries, AppsFlyer helps a lot in tracking the media results across. If you want to create different user groups based on the user activity in the app you can use Audiences to create the segments and use them for tailored messages.

AppsFlyer is one of the most used MMPs in the market. Many of our clients use it and it is a fundamental tool for our account managers to help our clients achieve their goals. Besides all data analysis capabilities, the integration for partners is something crucial, since it permits us to receive online data from all our clients directily to our platform, where we make decisions, optimizations, and much more.
  • Conversion Attributions
  • Realtime Postbacks
  • Online reporting
  • Data Analysis
  • Fraud Protection
  • Partner APIs
  • Custom Reports
  • Post-Attribution Postback
Appsflyer is one of the most complete MMP, with a wide range of features and sub-products that all mobile app need (or will need some time). With the conversion tracking capabilities comes a suite of reports and data ready to be analyzed to make decisions. On the fraud protection side, they have P360, with many scenarios for blocking and alerting.

We use Appsflyer to run various direct campaigns, so we use it for reporting as well as performance monitoring purposes after the integration. We also use various inbuilt tools like Protect360 and retention to monitor various KPIs. We run both UA and RT campaigns using AppsFlyer. It is used by our data operations department who runs mobile marketing campaigns. Basically, it is used by network business as well as the programmatic side of the business. Great MMP platform to measure your mobile app success.
  • Great and user-friendly UI--Easy to understand
  • Reporting is simplified and easy.
  • Protect360 itself blocks and highlights fraud, which is great.
  • Integration is so much easier.
  • To detect who is eating our attributions
  • Can improve Protect360, sometimes blocks programmatic traffic as well, marks VTA installs under click flooding fraud
  • Should provide suppression list of current users to avoid showing them ads.
It's better than other MMPs like Adjust, Branch. It has a much easier integration process for publishers and much better reporting and BI tools. You can download raw logs as well from AppsFlyer. You can pull out the trackers ourselves from the MMP. AppsFlyer support is very good.

AppsFlyer Review

AppsFlyer is being primarily used as a data aggregation and attribution tool for the different acquisition channels and platforms. In its entirety, it is being used by the user acquisition and retention teams. Some of the functionalities that are helpful are Protect360 and OneLink. It addresses the business problem of attributing acquired users to the right channels, giving a clear picture of how the user acquisition funnel works.
  • Real-time data analysis and attribution, along with insightful graphs
  • Fraud protection - P360 has helped us save millions of rupees in payouts
  • Mobile tracking using deep links - creation of deep links is a very easy process and helps us in measuring the impact of a variety of campaigns separately
  • Marketing teams slice data in different ways - be in on the date of user acquisition, on the date of certain in-app events, or just certain time-bound data points. I feel it's difficult to use the front end to slice data in different ways if it does not get covered in the existing dashboards. If it's possible to add custom filters to generate the reports and charts, that will solve a lot of issues for the marketing teams and reduce their reliance on analytics teams to query the data
  • The postbacks that AppsFlyer generates for advertising platforms, especially for Google UAC, are with a delay of a few hours which causes a hindrance in scaling up marketing campaigns. I am not sure if this is intrinsic to the product but if this can be resolved it could be great.
  • OneLinks on Google keep getting disapproved, due to the fact that they re-direct users. If the AppsFlyer team can work with the Google team to get these OneLinks whitelisted on Google platforms, that can be helpful.
AppsFlyer is best suited for data attribution and the use of its Protect360 feature. It is less suited for creating a feedback loop with postbacks as they occur with a delay of a few hours.

We use it for mobile game channel attribution and player valuation. It is primarily used by our Marketing and UA departments for channel optimization to aid in buying decisions. Secondly, we use it to aid in the valuation of our players through the measurement of their engagement and attributed revenue through in-app purchases and ad generated revenue streams.
  • Basic setup is intuitive and easy to follow.
  • Helpful and concise user documentation.
  • Customer service was quick to respond.
  • Reporting APIs were somewhat confusing to use.
  • Levels of granularity across reports and APIs were inconsistent. (i.e., One level would contain an asset value while others would not).
  • Changes to the reporting/API schema weren't well socialized to customers.
It is well suited to provide attribution tracking across multiple sources to provide a one-stop-shop for marketing/UA analytics. The stock reports provide enough insight to guide inexperienced marketing analysts. It falters when one wants to add custom parameters to track engagement or when one wants to extract this data to incorporate it into another data set. This is due to the event count limits that may constrain in-depth event tracking and the content restrictions associated with the various APIs/report extracts.

We use AppsFlyer as a third-party analytics tool. We gather all essential data from several advertising sources like Google Ads, Twitter, Facebook, and Apple Search Ads. That helps us to understand our main KPIs by channel, campaign and even ad creative in order to either double down on what's working well for us or just stop unnecessary waste of money.
  • Seamless integration with Facebook Ads, Google and Twitter Ads
  • Affordable pricing structure
  • Customer Support is very very slow
  • Create better user guides and manuals
AppsFlyer is a well-suited substitution of Google's Firebase that allows you to track your digital marketing efforts and optimize as necessary. Also it provides tools for deep link management.

Currently being used by four different teams including DevOps, product, social, and UA teams. It helps with tracking installs from various channels and ad networks on all app activity pre and post-install. This allows us to see which channels are profitable and ROI positive vs which channels are worth considering pausing. We also leverage AppsFlyer's Protect360 to combat fraud and set up various custom validation rules for mistargeting. Our social team leverages OneLink and deep linking to promote a specific section of our app for easy navigation.
  • Easy partner integration and set-up.
  • Protect360 gives you all the data you need to understand where you're seeing fraud.
  • Lots of customization on making sure you're not paying for any bogus installs.
  • Ability to download massive data from data locker for marketers to slice and dice the data however they need to.
  • CSM are amazing and are very proactive in making sure clients needs are addressed in timely manner.
  • Reporting can get bit tricky since there's lots of raw reporting data which you can download from but only 2-3 of them are very useful out of all.
  • AppsFlyer at times blocks legitimate installs causing more issues for us marketers.
  • Pivot table feature crashes all the time.
If you're in the business of buying traffic for your app, then you need a Mobile Measurement Platform (MMP) like AppsFlyer to measure paid and organic app installs. If you're e-commerce who does not have a supporting app then there's no reason for you to use AppFlyer. In this case, you would most likely use Google Analytics.

It is being used by the marketing, analytics, and product team. It helps the marketing team track the attribution for various performance marketing channels - it helps with multi-attribution and not just first click/last click model. It helps the analytics team use its dashboard and APIs for CAC LTV, ARPU etc analysis. Product team uses this for tracking overall traffic impact on certain features through link tracking.
  • Tracking multiple traffic sources effectively including Facebook, Instagram, Google, Affiliates etc.
  • Deduplication while at attribution and fraud detection, which helps saves a lot on the marketing spends.
  • Multi touch, exponential, last click, first click attribution models basis our requirement.
  • Short links and smart URL that is mostly used for quick campaigns and product integrations.
  • iOS and Android dashboard are different.
  • Web attribution and tracking are not there fully.
  • Deeplink feature can be improved a bit to be on par with other leading tools.
This is probably the best attribution and tracking tool out there at the moment. The best part is that this is being adopted by all the leading publishers and networks, so marketing teams can work with almost any company and they will have a tie-up AppsFlyer for a quick start of the campaign. It's best suited for ensuring we don't overpay due to fraud and due to incorrect attribution.

AppsFlyer is our attribution platform for mobile app installs and mobile app activity after installs. It basically lets us know which marketing campaigns are leading to the most installs then activity in our application, so we can focus on marketing campaigns that actually drive ROI. On top of that, it helps determine the ROI of marketing campaigns with easy digital integrations for Facebook, Google, and other display networks.
  • ROI reporting: something most competitors don't have.
  • Activity tracking: a full attribution platform to judge activity from a campaign.
  • Easy setup: not too many lines of code for our developers.
  • Ads integration: easy 1 to 2 step integration for digital ad networks.
  • Dynamic Links are kind of ugly. They're super in-depth to set up and work fantastically, it's just that unlike Branch or Firebase AppsFlyer links are long, not customized, and ugly. I always need to hide them in a bit.ly which is a pain.
  • No automatic dynamic links -- we couldn't use it to share inside the app and measure the results of a referring a friend campaign.
To be relatively honest, AppsFlyer is a great service and an excellent platform. It's robust, and we still haven't gone insanely deep into some of its functionality. If it wasn't for using Appsee as our UI/UX and mobile app analytics platform, we would have gone with a free option, like Branch.io, but unfortunately, they didn't integrate well with Appsee. So out of the companies that did, AppsFlyer was the best and cheapest, as it's pay by install is a small cent amount.
If you for some reason can't use a free platform like Branch or Firebase, then AppsFlyer is probably your best choice for just attribution.

AppsFlyer for Data nerds!

AppsFlyer has been part of the decision making in choosing and selecting install campaign partner. AppsFlyer is mainly used in the Internet Marketing team. AppsFlyer has the capability to provide raw data, which we can use to detect invalid install. Out there, there are lots of fraud installs, and naive marketers are charged for this.
  • Ability to provide raw data upon installation.
  • Customized funnel.
  • A vast variety of integrated partners.
  • Making a customized chart.
AppsFlyer has been our greatest source of data to identify invalid installs. However, it will need the users to have a good skill of data analysis in order to extract meaningful insights into budgeting and marketing optimization. But apart from that, just for basic data, AppsFlyer is pretty enough to evaluate the performance of mobile app install marketing channel.

AppsFlyer, in my opinion, is one of the most powerful solutions for mobile product managers or mobile marketers. It allows you to see exactly where users are coming from, their quality and how well your user acquisitions are doing. I can’t see myself running campaigns without AppsFlyer at this point. Also, features like OneLink deep linking are a nice touch and super useful addition to your campaign optimization game.
  • OneLink is a great feature for deeplinking, I don't think any of AppsFlyer competitors offer anything similar
  • Attribution data is SUPER accurate
  • Amazing integrations and cross-platform support
  • Kind of expensive, especially for SMBs
  • I’m not a huge fan of the dashboard UI and the mobile app is still a little buggy, but it keeps improving with every version, which is great.
I would recommend this tool to any bigger company with a mobile app and bigger budget. This tool is extremely helpful when you're running multiple user acquisition campaigns and would like to better understand which channel works best, and why. In other words, this is great for mobile marketing initiatives and optimizations.

AppsFlyer is being used by the whole organization. We have a central AppsFlyer integration that supports all the apps. 59 apps so far! We use AppsFlyer to achieve measurement for marketing campaigns for these mobile apps.
  • AppsFlyer dashboard reflects metrics in real time. If you click on a link on your mobile device and then install/engage, then, the result shows up in the AppsFlyer dashboard within the minute. This fast metric is really useful for testing.
  • AppsFlyer has a product called data vault that gives you both organic and non-organic traffic attribution details - for every single call made. It is great for doing more analysis.
  • AppsFlyer customer service is phenomenal - I have phone access to at least two people in Appsflyer - one an account manager, and another, an engineer.
  • AppsFlyer has great integration with other mobile networks (SSPs). I was evaluating using DoubleClick for Mobile vs AppsFlyer. At the time of evaluation, AppsFlyer was miles ahead and integrated with every ad network that we were interested in. Moreover, Facebook has the most audience that we are interested in - AppsFlyer was better suited for that than DoubleClick.
  • The AppsFlyer UI for generating individual campaign trackers is terrible. I gave them feedback and they tell me that they are working on fixing it soon (in 6 months?).
  • AppsFlyer documentation for server to server integration for both install and engagement campaigns is (still!) very confusing.
If you are doing marketing for apps and doing real-time bidding/price adjustments, then, AppsFlyer's integration will help you double the value (than if you did no integration - basically ran a cost-per-click campaign). If you wanted to do funnel analysis of how your users navigate your product, then use something else - like Flurry Analytics.

In my department we use Appsflyer in order to measure download campaigns.
  • Best SDK technology
  • A lot of suppliers integrated
  • Many KPI measurables
  • Is not possible to add adserving tracking (sizmek or dcm impression pixel or click command)
It's appropriate in all campaigns where you want to measure downloads and events inside the app, and you will run the campaign in some networks. It's less appropriate in campaigns where you won't measure downloads, or you have a low budget because the integration of the SDK is not cheap.
