Features of Quality and Management Control at reasonable prices is the most critical factor in our decision. We as a manufacturing company looking for easy quality control and management at cheaper rates that keep our company on the go. Compliance and vendor reputation was most important to us. When implementing an eQMS, you don't want to go with a company that is an upstart that may be acquired by a bigger fish. We wanted to go with a company that has been around for a while and is not likely to have significant structural changes within the next five years.

We had two companies that had been using Arena for years prior to Novanta acquiring them. Based on there experience and success with Arena, Arena is cloud-based, and the price, it became the executive team's choice for PLM.

There is exactly one person who is the Arena expert. Most likely they attended paid user education. If it is this difficult to search, add, or find our own data, then we need to stop wasting time paying people in our organization to specialize in this archaic piece of software.

I was not present during the decision to purchase Arena but from my standpoint, I would want a PLM tool that was powerful but easy to use at the same time. I would want it to empower our engineers and our business but not hinder us in our core competencies.

Features are great for what we are doing and it is pretty quick. We looked around a lot and a third party review of Arena solution and cheaper price compared to the rest made our decision to purchase it.
