We installed Aruba Networks Wireless WAN at all of our offices in place of a physical network connection. Wireless WAN is cheaper and more efficient for users. Wireless WAN allows users to move around and hotel office space with ease. Wireless WAN also is more secure than in many cases over wire connection.

Aruba Networks Wireless WAN is used by many of our esteemed customers to meet multiple business objectives including providing seamless wireless access with an eye on access control and secure data transfer. The product is known for its reliability, stability, and ease of use. The fully functional cloud-enabled solution is easy to implement and meets most of the organization's requirements for providing connectivity to its employees as well as guests using a defined mechanism.

Pros

Cons

  • Licensing is slightly complicated and not bundled, separate costs for cloud controller is a no-no.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We were looking for a brand that could provide all our locations with a Wireless solution. This ranges from office location(s) with 300 users to sports halls and public swimming pools which all need different types of devices due to their characters. All these locations and devices should be manageable from a cloud-based interface. Aruba provides a wide range of devices that suited our use case and is manageable from the cloud.

Pros

  • Stable devices
  • Broad range of devices to choose from
  • Insightfull management pane
  • Ability to manage devices from anywhere

Cons

  • Simplified connection to Microsoft Azure
  • Availability of device addon's
  • Give even more information in the management pane

Likelihood to Recommend

Aruba Networks is a product that is broadly available and there are many implementation partners available to design and implement the infrastructure for you. Aruba Networks is great if you are looking for a partner that offers a broad range of devices. It can keep a multi-location infrastructure simple once the management interface is set up. Aruba is less appropriate if you want to do a simple setup with a few devices where you want to be up and running quickly. The management interface can be a hassle to set up and if you want Azure integration you are better off contacting an implementation partner that has dealt with this before.

The perfect wireless WLAN solution for offices with quick and easy management

Rating: 10 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We implemented an Aruba Networks Wireless WAN solution in some branches in the state to promote wireless internet access in place of wired network due to infrastructure, price and labor issues to make the structured cabling. The Aruba Networks Wireless WAN solution consisted of a cloud controller and 802.11ac wave 2 access points installed on-site to provide internet to employees on the private network and a second guest network with an authentication and registration portal for visitors. The connectivity problem was solved with the Aruba WLAN solution and easy management with the cloud.

Pros

  • It has cloud management for administration of access points remotely.
  • Automatic replication of custom settings to access points.
  • Solution with WIFI 5 and WIFI 6 hotspots.
  • They are powered by POE or power injector.
  • Compact access points.

Cons

  • The cloud management service with controller and software has a monthly cost
  • Only the appliance controller solution licenses are perpetual.

Likelihood to Recommend

In our scenario, we chose to dispense with the traditional wired network and use only the wireless network for internet access. The solution works perfectly as it is compatible with 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz radios and a throughput of 1.2Gbps of data traffic. Aruba Networks Wireless WAN access points have technologies that avoid noise and interference and better direct the internet signal to the user. The prices are competitive and lower than some of the WiFi market leaders. It can be used in any corporate setting.

Aruba WiFi - Works great with little to no hassle or maintenance

Rating: 10 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use it across our entire office. This was primarily installed for large conferences we have onsite, but then we started us[ing] it for employees as well. It solved the problem of 50-100 devices being used at the same time on 1 network. Previously, our WiFi would come crashing down when we fired up a bunch of laptops at the same time.

Pros

  • Reliable
  • Easy to administer
  • Great uptime

Cons

  • Admin UI is a little clunky, but not bad

Likelihood to Recommend

It is well suited for business applications where you have a large group using it all at once. It is very reliable when using it as the primary WiFi for your business. The coverage is fantastic and you can move about the office while staying connected very well. It may not be appropriate for larger areas. We use the IAPs, so you may need to upgrade to their models that require a controller for that situation.
