My agency as a whole uses Asana. It's where we track PTO, manage projects and assign responsibilities. The amount that we use Asana though depends on which account team I'm on. For instance, some Project Managers are very diligent about using Asana and assigning colleagues tasks, while others don't use the platform at all. Of the teams I'm on that do take advantage of Asana, I feel like those accounts are the most integrated, require the most collaboration and have very organized PM's that manage us/the platform.
  • User-friendly, intuitive platform
  • Helps to clearly define roles and responsibilities
  • Easily manage workflow and tasks
Cons
  • Better social content calendar planning capabilities
  • Easier syncing of calendars between team PTO and agency PTO
  • Easier adjustment of email notification settings
Asana is great for project management. It allows people to see exactly what is needed of them, when deadlines are and who is responsible for what. On teams that are integrated or require a lot of cross-channel communication, this is a great platform to bring everything together in one space so everyone can be aware and held accountable. I've personally tried using Asana for social content calendar management, and it was a very manual, time-consuming effort that I ended up abandoning. I think this is an area where either I can learn more about how to manage clients' social content on Asana (simply because I don't know/was doing my best guess) or it can be a better capability overall.

A very easy to use project manager

Asana is a very good option for the management of projects and the monitoring of assigned tasks, in my work I have several people in my team, so it is necessary to constantly monitor the tasks and projects in execution to ensure that they are carried out in the best way possible. It is there that Asana makes my work much easier since the application allows me to do the respective follow-up to the work without having to move from place to place.
  • Asana is very easy to use.
  • It integrates very well with other applications allowing data sharing.
  • It is an economic solution.
  • It is an application that is well oriented.
Cons
  • Technical support is sometimes slow.
  • Does not allow for customization of funds.
  • It does not have a very reliable security system.
Asana allows us to collect the weekly advances and present them easily in a single report detailing the projection, progress, and delays.

We use Asana as a management tool for tasks/meetings in a small technological company.
We mainly use Asana for: tasks allocation, tasks reminder, "online agenda" for online crew meetings.
Asana is used both for technical and business related tasks and projects.
Asana is easy to use and does not require any software installation, so it is used widely in our organization for different types of tasks.
  • Easy to use by any user (good UX and no installation needed)
  • Easy to create a simple project, add tasks and sub tasks.
  • Different display options, according to the project/tasks type
  • Works great using a web browser, you don't have to install the application
Cons
  • Asana is not really a project management tool, it is good for simple projects only
  • UI has some glitches (doesn't save preferences, etc.)
  • Integration with other tools (Office 365, MS Project)
  • No reminders if the working period you entered is on holidays
Asana is a great tool for simple tasks, but only for simple ones. But, don't forget that most of the tasks are usually simple. So, Asana can be used as a great personal task management system, online agenda for meetings, simple tasks allocation tool and even an easy to use management tool for simple projects. One of the main advantages of Asana is the ease of use, so even if it is not perfect anyone can use it, and if you use any management tool it is much better than nothing.

Modern and easy to use project management tool.

We use Asana for all our active client projects. We collaborate with our customers in a project per customer and use it to log our work, their next actions, get approval and feedback, while reporting on effort, tasks completed and outstanding milestones.

Since Asana offers great reporting it’s perfect to get insights on how our entire, remote, team is doing.
  • Overview on work to be done
  • Milestones and portfolios to get status
  • Log work and get feedback
  • Collaboration
Cons
  • Time tracking
  • Note taking
Perfect for bigger teams that work together (either with or without) external parties.

It’s less suited for small teams or individual usage since the overhead of the platform hinders fast input. But that same scale of options 8s perfect for bigger teams where it’s easy to loose track of what everyone is doing.

Easy to use even for the simple-minded like me!

Used to coordinate meetings, assign and track tasks.
  • Easy to follow and coordinate.
  • Easy to follow up with completion.
Cons
  • Some functions a little difficult to use and we did not have anyone experienced enough with it to help.
Great for assigning tasks and following up on completion. Slightly difficult to figure out and utilize for underexperienced users
