What is Ascentis (discontinued)?

Ascentis was an a-la carte full suite workforce management (WFM) technology platform and human capital solutions. Ascentis WFM provided time and attendance solutions that provided clients with scheduling, compliance, complex calculations, and time collection options. The HCM suite, included a fully a-la carte solution.

Ascentis was acquired by UKG in March of 2022. The service will be discontinued.

  • We have been running reports from Ascentis HR to identify our new hires after 30 days and then send them a follow-up survey to see how they are adjusting to the culture. From the results of the survey, we have been able to identify changes that needed to be made in our recruiting, orientation, and hiring practices so that our turnover is not as quick as it once was and that our new hires are better prepared for the jobs ahead of them.

  • Savings!!! The subscription based contracts have helped me present a more realistic budget and has also saved my department money.
  • Control of the Setup Manager: it is great to ask customer support for help but it is 10 times better when they guide me to how I can make the changes on my own. It makes all our resources accessible.

  • Ascentis HR again is a great tool for the admin user, overall it has decreased admin time overall.
  • The flip side of that the buck has been passed to the supervisor and user to deal with the on-going quirks with Ascentis and reduced that level of productivity.

  • It's taken away time from business objectives because we've done a lot of manual entry. We attempted to get training and our account manager did not help at all. We got a new one and received the same poor service only to get a replacement in a short amount of time. We've had 3 account managers in the last year.

  • We didn't have an HRIS system previously and it has been a positive impact, but we have had some difficulties making it our own.
  • With our unique benefit options, salary/comp models, and classification - it has taken some time to set up our custom tabs and etc.
  • Payroll works great, but it would be best not to upload info into 3 different systems in order to run payroll.

  • Manager and employee self-service works pretty well and has saved HR time
  • Benefits EDI files and admin very good eliminating EDI issues of previous system
  • Cost for the product was extremely competitive for what you get on the HR/benefits side
