Atlassian Confluence is used across the company, within several locations. Atlassian Confluence is an easy tool to use and connects several teams across the whole organisation. It addressed several communication backlogs and created a more convivial area to share quickly and efficiently updates on projects and steps to follow.
  • QUICK How-to Guides that can be generated and share instantly.
  • Automatic Email notifications of new updates in the Confluence area
  • Provides an easy at a glance view of the content similar to a book contents table
  • Formatting text can be a challenge to new users.
When you need fast updates and a one stop area to glance at priorities and new stuff on a project, Atlassian Confluence is a great tool. It is fast and easy to consult and provides many features that are helpful, such as the use of quick templates. Might be more user-friendly and intuitive.

  • Time savings with automatic notifications
  • Across the organisation use and sharing
Atlassian Confluence was the market leader and we quickly realized that for our organisation, it was the no-brainer choice as it has more features and is easier to deploy with our other tools, such as Jira.
Atlassian JIRA Align (formerly AgileCraft), BarTender, Ceridian Dayforce

Atlassian Confluence is used across the board, managers, engineers, technicians as well as purchasing and accounting folks.
I am not in the support group.
  • Share HOW TO articles and collaborate on these
  • Share and update meeting notes in real time
  • Able to release a product earlier thru inter group working together at the same time on the same documents/tasks.
  • Able to streamline Confluence with JIRA tasks (both from Atlassian) transparently, provides time-savings and concistency
  • Permits efficient use of WIKI's
  • Several Add-ons and/or plugins are available which permits customization and internal applications adapted to our needs
  • More efficient use of WIKIS
Confluence has permitted teams to come together and provide a one stop area to get a tremendous amount of documents and information in an efficient environment. Permits our teams to create documents as an entity and provide feedbacks on the spot in a timely manner. It is flexible and can be easily customized to our needs and grow with us.

  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
Features and usability were and are important as the product can grow with us, is fairly easy to use and we can adapt it to our needs which helps prevent product obsolescence or having to evaluate and purchase another product.
I would not change anything.
  • Implemented in-house
No
Change management was a minor issue with the implementation
We need to be and stay disciplined!
  • Making sure that content and context are well explained and well understood
  • Make sure everyone understands the purpose on Confluence before they add contents
Take a bit more time to explain the purpose of Confluence and show demos prior to actual use and content additions.
  • no training
For me it was...the help menus and webinars were very well presented and easy to understand.
A bit complex but I am not well versed in this area...perhaps with a bit of digging and training it may turn out to be easy
None so far unfortunately.
No - we have not done any customization to the interface
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code
I was not personally involved but the person that did it found it quite easy and user friendly.
None for now.
I personally did not have many interactions but our admin folks had only good words about AT support Team. Timeliness and professionalism were feedback I heard often.
I believe Premium as we have many users and some fairly new, support is very important to us.
No
There are too many to pin point one.
Fairly easy to use, the general word processing of the application can be a bit quirky but with time it gets easier.
  • Doing WIKIs
  • Making HOW-TO pages/articles
  • Plugins and Add-ons
  • Searching for stuff is not always easy
Very easy to deploy at multiple facilities and groups and grow as we do.
I do not recall having outages or applications error so far, very reliable and available.
Confluence is quite seamless and its performance is flawless so far.
  • Atlassian JIRA
Seamless and easy.
None that I am aware of.
None that I am aware of for now.
It was easy to integrate and took no time to do so
Make sure all steps are done in the proper order and review often.
As we already had experience with Atlassian JIRA we already had a good rapport with them and communications were very easy and efficient.
Again as we had already extensive exchanges with Atlassian for JIRA, this made after sale work a breeze.
Mostly payment terms and roll out schedules.
It helps if you already have an Atlassian Product but even at that, Atlassian are truly efficient so they would also be efficient in any cases.

I believe we may go from Professionnal to Enterprise.

We use Confluence as a multi-department digital planning tool. It also serves as a historical marker so we can easily see what was done and cross reference it with web traffic.
  • Straightforward and fairly easy to use the platform.
  • Lets you know when others on the team are accessing the same materials/files.
  • It is quite adaptable to our needs.
  • Unfortunately there are different levels of usability depending on the various web browsers for opening this tool.
  • Functionality is somewhat rigid such as for not being able to easily post screen shots or images for reference.
  • The most important issue is the lack of being able to copy rows or columns easily to move to other files. It is a flaw that will hopefully be fixed.
We use it for project mapping and planning of content for our organization. It can be used in several different scenarios for sharing and managing simple or complex projects.

Web and IT. This tool captures basic project management needs and skills.
  • Project planning
  • Collaboration
  • Cross-functional
  • Content flow
  • Integrates with other internal and external platforms and software
  • Large and small scale planning
  • Wider cross departmental projects
  • More fully integrated in overall content management (currently use for one key function only)
  • Potentially a greater integration with measurement/metrics
Very useful tool for cross collaboration and large scale planning
No
This platform helped fill a gap we previously did not have
  • Product Features
  • Product Usability
The project features and usability make this the ideal tool for large scale project planning.
Keep same process. It worked well and we have a lot of success with it.
  • Implemented in-house
Yes
Adaptable multi phase approach
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled
Pacing and repeat training helped get over the learning gap
  • Functionality
  • Lack of copy / paste of fields
  • Browser incapatabilities
Great process overall
Good support team, especially in adoption phase of project.
The overall setup phase was an important time to start out on the right foot.
  • Page tree is such an essential part of this work
  • The wiki approach has helped us use this tool in large scale and small form projects
  • Fairly error proof when working with multiple users at the same time
  • No copy and paste with recognizing fields
  • The lack of recognizing individual rows in order to copy and paste fields is an inherent problem with the tool
  • Need way to integrate metrics/measurement
Overall, a powerful tool we can use in multiple ways with large and small scale projects.
This tool is very adaptable. So much so we use it for three completely separate projects, in three very different ways.
It is always on, always ready. It is very adaptable and reliable.
Pages load quickly. If something closes abruptly (such as the browser), it lets us know when work needs to be reviewed/saved/deleted to avoid any unintentional overrides.

It was used to develop a wiki for employees. This wiki was intended to help understand the importance of information security, and the do's and dont's in the organization.
  • It has a very good Good GUI with lots of features particularly creating macros; it made my job easier.
  • The Task List and its notifications helped me to synchronize my work.
  • Nothing that I can think of now.
It will be always well suited to any organization where they want to share specific information and also restrict access to people who are not supposed to have access. It is a well managed tool.
  • This tool helped in reducing unnecessary email with attachments, Employees could get information directly on Atlassian Confluence
Once a person starts using this tool, it's so user friendly that you will not want to change change. It's like a person using iPhone who will never switch to Samsung.
