So basically, Auvik is different from traditional RMM tools. Auvik focuses only on the network later in a customer network. But the information it provides is rich and insightful. Auvik is a fully cloud-based product and customers need not to worry about on-premise dependencies when using Auvik. Also, it is fully automated. Auvik helps the burden of IT admins by automating repetitive tasks. So you skilled IT persons can be assigned more productive tasks. This way Auvik increases the return on investment of IT teams. Also, Auvik has a fully automated network discovery process which will discover your network in a matter of minutes with all the inventories. Furthermore with its dynamic and navigational map helps to pinpoint and identify root cause of a particular issue quickly using its rich alerting mechanisms. So your overall ticket volume and ticket resolution time can be reduced. Auvik provides complete visibility on the network on a real-time basis and you can know in and out of your network. Auvik helps increasing confidence on IT systems by providing distaster recovery capabilities with configuration backup options so that you can recover device configurations at any time. Additionally, Auvik provides all the device life cycle information of each network components so that you can plan for network refreshes.
• Automate Repetitive tasks
• Realtime navigational map
• Full network inventory with Device lifecycle information
• Configuration backups and comparisons
• Network Traffic Insights
• Syslog Analysis
• Better consider on-premise options as well for the customers who prefer on-prem setups
• Need to focus on applications level performance in the network as well
• Need more improvements in Traffic analysis part
Auvik is well suited for managed service customers and small-scale SMB customers who do not have enough technical resource to manage and monitor their network. Also for customer who has distributed networks spreaded across worldwide or nation wide, Auvik is well suited since it does not need any on-premise setup at each site except for a collector. For customer who has already adopted and used cloud network and hosting services, Auvik is better as Auvik is also fully cloud based offering

Auvik is a remote monitoring and management tool for networks, with extensive support for products and platforms commonly found in mid-sized to enterprise organizations. It provides real-time insight into network conditions and devices, largely replacing static documentation. Its Remote Browser support for nearly anything with a web-based management console is a huge time-saver.
• Detailed information
• Overview and insight
• Useful inventory
• Onboarding requires LOTS of fine-tuning
• Very odd specifics in setting up and modifying alerts
• Many UI quirks that have never been addressed
Auvik would be a useful product in medium to large organizations with multiple sites, with certain network hardware: Cisco, HP, Juniper, and Meraki. Auvik is less useful in smaller or more heterogeneous organizations.

We use Auvik in multiple ways across most of our clients - discovery, management, mitigation, configuration management, network trends, flow monitoring, alerting, and others. Deployment is quick and lightweight, which makes buy-in that much easier.

Auvik has been used to address many business cases and situations, including malware/crypto mitigation, emergency outage responses, validation of the network, and trending of network flows to create a baseline of the environment.
• Discovering interconnectivity of network devices
• Configuration management
• Inventory
• Troubleshooting
• Mapping complex multiple-site interconnectivity could use improvement
• Inability to turn off banner messages
• Switch stack membership could use a better visual representation on the map
Auvik is fantastic for managing multi-site, multi-company networks - very well suited for MSP or consultative technology companies. Navigation is simple and easy between clients and their sites.

Auvik is less well suited for managing single sites or single companies - it is really meant to be used at a larger scale.

Great network monitoring tool, love the in-browser tunneling feature. Can be slow at times but the functionality is robust and useful. A good overview of any network topology and is very simple to switch between tenants. The search functionality could be a little more refined and allow custom field queries, but overall pretty good.

• Multi tenant support
• Topology graphics
• Speed
• Search

Well suited for MSPs, or companies with many hubs that have a large amount of network equipment that needs to be accessed for maintenance or configuration changes. Probably not needed for smaller companies or companies with only a few sites/minimal gear or those who do not make frequent configurations to their equipment

Auvik is an absolute godsend when it comes to combating Shadow IT. At my previous employer, we consistently had to co-manage networks, and troubleshoot issues caused by an SD-WAN provider without having actual access to the boxes doing the networking. After learning about and utilizing Auvik, I've been able to gain invaluable insight into client networks and not only solve problems, but prove without a doubt the root cause of the issue.
• Clearness of Network Map.
• Identify and suggest solutions to network configuration issues.
• Monitor and Manage configuration changes.
• Steep onboarding
• small bake-in period
Auvik is best suited for any environment that is more complex than a single site/single VLAN. If you need interconnectivity between sites, you need Auvik.

We integrate Auvik with ConnectWise Manage and ConnectWise Automate for network resource monitoring, alerting, and troubleshooting.

Auvik helps simplify troubleshooting. Once fully configured it maps out all network devices down to the exact switch port used. This enables us to troubleshoot switch and other network performance issues quickly by isolating the issue via a switch port to a device.
• Maps out devices to switch ports.
• Monitors, alerts, and reports on network device and port utilization.
• Quickly created complete network diagrams.
• Works well in a co-manage environment enabling teams full but restricted access to specific sites. Integrates well with site specific access in ConnectWise Automate.
• More control over the layout of the network maps.
• Faster and easier initial configuration with less interface changes.
One of the latest scenarios had to due with an organizations upload speeds for their internet being maxed out. This was a client without Auvik already configured. Within less than 2 hours we were able to fully configure Auvik for all of their switches and routers and isolate the computer using the port Utilization Reporting and solve the issue.

As an MSP Auvik has been a godsend. From new client onboarding to network troubleshooting it does it all. Being able to have a dynamic and up-to-date map of the environment has saved time looking for issues allowing us to be more proactive and provide a better value to our customers. With every new version, they make major improvements which makes it truly worth the cost.
• Network discovery and mapping
• Alerting to problems
• Configuration change recommendations
• I would like to see a multi windowed interface
• Better mapping with some products
Auvik is well suited to more complex environments with managed switches and AP's By having a single pane of glass for monitoring and managing allows for faster support. Auvik is not suited for smaller clients without the proper infrastructure which needs to be managed by the service. Unmanaged switches do not provide any information.

We use Auvik 24/7 to monitor the networks of our customers. It is really easy to deploy and configure. We can have it rolled out to a new customer and fully functional in a few hours. We also interact with it's API and pull details into our 24/7 SOC and custom dashboard. We also send a lot of customized reports.
• Monitoring vCenter
• Monitoring switch throughput down to the port level.
• Creating one-to-one VPN tunnels to remotely manage a device.
• Easily compare configuration backups and rollback any changes.
• Instead of just switch configuration backups, I would like to create new, manage and deploy new configurations.
• I would like to see connects to other hypervisors instead of just VMware.
• More API options. I would love to be able to pull "Top 10 device usage" and get the results in JSON. I would also like be able to pull other things from the dashboard.
It is suited for any network with even just a handful of switches and infrastructure. It also works well with a massive network with multiple sites.

Auvik FTW for MSPs!

We are a Managed IT Services Provider (MSP) providing fully managed IT services to small and medium-sized businesses. We utilize Auvik for proactive network monitoring, alerting, and issue remediation at all of our client sites. We also leverage Auvik's integrations with our Ticketing and Documentation systems to efficiently document and inventory customer network infrastructure and devices.
• Network Monitoring and Alerting.
• Integrates with common MSP tools (PSA, Documentation, Alerting, etc).
• MSP-focused team and product.
• Autotask PSA integration needs some work at the present moment.
• It would be great if we could customize Device Types or better map Auvik's device types to Configuration Item Types in PSA.
• Deeper integrations with the rest of the MSP toolset (an API integration with UniFi, for instance).
Auvik is a fantastic product for MSPs looking to more effectively and efficiently monitor and manage their clients' network infrastructure. It is a great fit for MSPs serving SMBs. It is a less good fit for very small IT Support companies, clients with fewer than five network devices, or very large enterprises looking for an in-house network management solution.

We are a Managed Service Provider and use this to manage networks for several of our larger customers. We use it to create documentation, and provide information on the network. Our external NOC also uses it for management and it is Integrated with our Professional Services Automation tool (autotask). We also use it for traffic analysis.
• Captures alerts over a LONG period of time (as long as the agent is installed)
• Excellent ability to drill down on Traffic data
• Inventory of assets, both network components and and all connected devices
• Visual Map alerts
• Ability to export data
• The reporting is not great and needs improvement. Much data, but not as useable in native format as it could be
• There have been issues with exporting data into Power BI in multi-site locations
• Multi-site location functionality and mapping could be better
It's been great for the discovery of a network. We like that there is a good ability to drill down on traffic data as well. We've used this to understand what apps are consuming bandwidth when there are reports of a "slow network". Note that this feature is only available in the "Performance Agent" upgrade, but we use this frequently.

Auvik is used to document and support multiple networks throughout our business. It's still under construction but becoming more valuable by the day. Will be used to diagnose errors while monitoring traffic at the sites. We use a shared collector and in some instances, we've found more information can be gathered by deploying a collector onsite. Multiple collectors monitor traffic and all nodes on multiple networks to increase performance and improve troubleshooting.
• Visual documentation of network mapping
• Easy to add new sites/networks
• Clearly defined network architecture which aids troubleshooting
• Customizable alerts which can be tailored to our sites for urgency
• Geolocation map which can easily show us where traffic is accessing our networks
• Non-standard industrial equipment shows up as generic devices on the network
• RDP in remote management would be handy
• Additional notes section for networks would be handy
Daily monitoring of networks is helped greatly by Auvik. Set up the alerts so that they are tailored to exactly what your business-critical devices report. Alerting to monitor traffic for bottlenecks and find the sources to increase efficiency on the networks. Documentation and training via Auvik are exceptional. The shared collector is not the best for our networks where we have locked down firewall rules. In these instances, I've found it easier to deploy a collector to the site and create rules to allow it access.

We are an MSP we use Auvik internally as well as deployed to our clients. It is great for centrally managing network equipment. It also has a great notification system for down alerts. We use this product primarily for network monitoring and maintenance. The logical map helps see how everything is connected to the network.
• Network Discovery
• Terminal connections
• configuration backups
• the Auvik portal running in a large environment is very slow. I would like to see a way to make it load faster
we use Auvik to easily manage network equipment for our client's remote sites across the country. Network monitoring and notifications are very handy for knowing when the client is having problems before they impact the client. Automatic configuration backup for network equipment is also saved for our clients when things go wrong.

CHR Creative is an MSP and thus we use Auvik for network discovery and audits on customer networks. Auvik is also used to help assess CIS 18 controls on those customer networks.
• Automates network device discovery
• Automates subnet discovery
• Automated alerting of performance issues and critical alerts for network appliances
• Integrates well with Datto products (Autotask PSA, Datto Networking)
• Integrates well with IT Glue
• Graphical exports of the network map - something for executive review of assets
• A subset of KB articles or sites dedicated to displaying an updated list of supported network equipment
Auvik is a great network discovery tool (and long-term network management and auditing tool) for MSPs to use with their customer networks. Auvik allows for a fast and accurate assessment of how many devices are on a network and with a little effort a greater understanding of how their network operates.

Auvik saves time during the initial onboarding of a client by helping to see network issues that would be tedious to find manually. The automatically generated map saves time while troubleshooting while also raising alerts in the PSA and highlighting issues before they are known. After the setup process, the product is mostly set and forgotten and can be left to monitor the network for any issues that arise or change, while also useful to manage switches/routers with config backups and remote management.
• Automated alerts and monitoring
• Network Map which makes it easier to display outages/faults
• Remote management with terminal
• Backup of switch/router configs
• Setup process is tedious at times but usually only needs to be done once
• Setting up correct credentials on devices can be frustrating with the UI and the agent waiting to retry if they were incorrect
Auvik is well suited for larger sites with complicated networks, it makes it easy to see VLANs and separate networks while also highlighting VPNs to other sites and interlinks between networks. It's also useful for SMB networks however on smaller networks (especially with ISP routers) you may not be able to get much or any detail from a network.

Auvik provides a wonderful cloud-based NMS, giving us an always-on, and always accessible portal to keep an eye on our network infrastructure and status. With Auvik's many integrations, we are able to get timely alerts and notifications to our various tools. Auvik has filled a real gap in our network monitoring and management.
• Network Topology Mapping
• automatic network scanning
• device classification
• from my perspective, nothing.
Auvik does a fantastic job at providing a cloud-based, always-on NMS system. With the ability to break out a variety of sites, the automated network mapping, scanning of subnets, and credential mappings, setup is a breeze and requires very little 'care and feeding'.

I use Auvik daily to monitor my customer's networked devices, view the live network map, and provide a tool to send live alerts to my ticketing system where it will create a ticket automatically and close the ticket if the issue is resolved. Even after all of this, the system automatically backs up switch, router, and firewall configurations as well as provides remote access from a single pane of glass to all of the customer sites that we manage.
• Live map
• Backs up configurations
• Remote Access
• Ties in to ticketing system
• Exporting the maps to Visio

Well, we use Auvik in our company to see everything in our IT department. Coming from a single switch to a whole VMs server. I really love how Auvik is easy to use and how fast it responds when sending alerts. It is also great because you can directly access your firewalls, switches, and even access consoles directly from the site.
• Great UI
• Fantastic connectivity with devices
• Lot of devices supported
• Easy to use
• Great visibility of devices information
• The ability to use a phone number as 2FA
I think Auvik is well suited in any corporation that has at least 50 devices to monitor because it shows everything you need to know about them and if your business is in constant growth, you can continue to add devices easily with the auto-discover feature. Where is less appropriate is when you have too few devices because this tool is so powerful and you will have an overpowered utility.

Auvik has helped C-level users understand the complexities of their networks and help guide decision-making.

• Management of devices
• Auditing changes
• Condensing email alerts when up stream devices go offline
Auvik is great for environments with large complex networks and networks where things are changing all the time be it the configuration or the devices themselves. The logging has been fantastic for us as well. It is not a great value add for Ubiquity based networks (poor integration) or simple/small networks.

We use Auvik to discover and report devices found on clients' networks. Both to the POC and for internal review to verify we have all of the necessary endpoints under management. We also use it as a secondary alert for when mission-critical devices go offline (including entire sites).
• Network Mapping
• Inventory discovery and management
• Alerting
• Quick reference for Network usage
• Better reporting for Syslog events -- ability to further fine tune log entries
• Traffic insight -- the detailed logs are really nice, but further simplification would be helpful
• Mapping of unknow devices
Device discovery in a network, Network discovery (for multiple VLANS) Remote management for infrastructure devices. Quick access to switch configurations.

We use Auvik for Client Environment monitoring & management and use this to sync to our documentation portal. I do appreciate the updates to support Fortinet hardware and configuration in the last few years, it's come a long way. My favorite part is the configuration view and pulling historical configuration to audit changes made.
• Bandwidth Monitoring
• SNMP Polling
• Alerting & reporting
• Configuration snapshots
• Better topology mapping for routed subnets
• Support for Brocade FC switches
Most suited for larger enterprise environment inventory collection, network mapping, and monitoring, can also support small networks as well but the detail it pulls for complex environments with VLANs, subnets, and routing is great.

We currently use Auvik to monitor all fully-managed client networks; presently 125 networks and 740 devices. Auvik allows us to review all network traffic, throughput, and performance issues. Instead of responding to client issues, we are proactively preventing them, or alerting them, to provide a greater level of service.
• Network Monitoring
• Configuration Backups
• Inventory Reporting
• Network Discovery
• Network Auditing
• Exporting of Network Diagrams (e.g. into Visio)
• PSA Integration (CW Manage) for Inventory and Alerting
• WAN Website Monitoring
• LAN Ping/Alerting
• Web Service Monitoring (on WAN)
• Upstream alert suspension (e.g. Pause upstream AP alarms if switch goes offline)
Auvik is well suited in the MSP sector for all network monitoring needs. It provides exceptional visibility into network traffic, device/hardware status, and any other reporting through SNMP, WMI, or APIs. Auvik is not well-suited on multi-site over a slow link (e.g. 10Mbps) when the collector is at the remote end of the site. Traffic is too encumbering and can often slow downlinks.

I use Auvik to keep on top of any network changes to our company and customer companies' networks. We also use the config backup feature for most of our client's critical network devices. It is my go-to platform if there ever arise any questions about any network topology, configuration, or alerts.
• Network changes (ex. firewall config files, new networks, devices running services, etc.)
• Network audits.
• Troubleshooting.
• Visualization of network topology.
• Remote access to off-site network devices through ssh.
• They initially had problems with Fortinet devices, but currently, they have fixed most of them and they usually have fixes within days or a week of being notified.
• I would say more support for open-source Linux-based firewalls like Untangle and PFSense.
I would say if you are in charge of any type of network, be it a few devices in your SMB to hundreds of managed companies networks, then you should look into Auvik. It will change your professional IT life for the better. If you only have one computer in your mother's basement, then don't use Auvik. That's the only scenario I could come up with for not recommending Auvik. It's that good.
