We use Avanan to filter all emails for our company.
Pros
  • Avanan is easy to use.
  • It traps phishing attacks that get through our first-line solution.
  • Next year, we plan on promoting Avanan to be first-in-line.
Cons
  • Presently, there's no way for me to self-manage a group of VIP's personal email addresses to prevent them from being flagged as impersonation.
Likelihood to Recommend
Their support is wonderful and always gets an answer within the hour. Their dashboard alerts us to "superman" geo-impossible simultaneous logins way better than Microsoft does. They even created a custom report of foreign logins which I review each morning; this is way easier than Microsoft's interface for alerts. We have this configured behind another provider and I remain shocked by the things that Avanan catches that got through. Next year, I will recommend we make Avanan Primary because it's so much easier to use than our product. With limited IT resources, easy-to-use products that work well are key. This one such product.

The pleasure of sharing important email content like videos and graphics in a secure way in our organization is made possible by Avanan. I love the protection of my email attachments against threats of Malware and Spams which are detected early and blocked, giving me the comfort that important data and information is safe and secure.

  • To get most out of it, it requires someone with good analytical skills to manage.

Avanan is a great tool for additional phishing protection! We added it in addition to our already in place O365 email protection and it's been a great addition to our [secure] platform. We were getting phishing emails commonly slip through our Spam filter with our O365 email protection, and Avanan has filled the gap to better protect our organization against phishing attacks.

  • Clicktime protection iterfered with O365 Safe-link protection

Avanan works great as a cloud Anti-phishing software. They use Machine learning to catch attacks that other providers miss. They can work as a standalone Anti-phishing tool or in conjunction with O365 native email security products, making it a very versatile product. It works great as an additional product for protecting your email platform, and works well with existing products and platforms, and provides added protection and another anti-phishing engine that will catch emails that may go through your existing solution.
