It has automated the Frequent Asked Question (FAQ) by using step-by-step coding accessible on Microsoft Learning website.
  • Azure Bot Services helps to run frequently asked questions speedily and consistently. Thereby, reducing customer issues/inquiries management.
  • They have simplified the coding for the bot in Azure, but it would help if the coding was further simplified so that non-IT can operate [and] create it easily.
It runs on cloud and it makes the help desk more efficient. Especially in industries or organizations where customer queries seem to follow a similar pattern. However, if the bot is coded properly and consistently, it can also well work in big organizations where there is diversity in issues that might need attention by customers.
  • Azure Bot will only deliver according to the granularity of the FAQ it is feed. Otherwise, it has been a cost optimization tool for our organization.
Azure Bot Services is part of Azure subscription so it is ideal to have apps working [on] one platform so as to manage resources effectively.

Bot Framework was analyzed as a potential solution for real-time communication for help desk enablement and collaboration. It was primarily used by the help desk area and those who have the ability to report and input problem tickets. Due to the free form nature of our help desk software, a real-time communication solution would assist in completely and accurately documenting problems and requested analysis and research.
  • Real-time communication.
  • Lightweight software protocols.
  • Most robust features only available within Microsoft toolset.
  • Too much coding required for a basic functioning bot.
Any application where real-time communication is required.
Not suited for secure communications.
If storage and network overhead are a concern, Microsoft Bot Framework is lightweight and no additional storage capacity or network interfaces are needed.
If 100% availability is required, this is not a good choice, stability was an area of concern.
  • Real-time collaboration and communication over existing network protocols - very positive.
  • Not 100% stable (availability) - very negative.
Microsoft Bot Framework is much better and well more established without a lot of proprietary software/coding language.
Lex is very limited with integration with standard hardware and network configurations.
Lex has performance issues and was too slow to meet near real-time collaboration requirements.
Bot Framework complements many other Microsoft communication products and this was key to implementing without a lot of new training required.
Microsoft offers robust support without a high amount of extra cost to add this product on into our existing support contract.
No new onsite personnel as required and training sessions and manuals were included.
Very fast response and problem resolution were made available.
Detailed configuration guidance was provided at no extra cost.
Patching was a bit too frequent.
