Balsamiq has proven to be a valuable tool for various departments and teams within organizations. Users have found that Balsamiq is particularly useful for creating wireframes and low fidelity prototypes in the early stages of the design process. This helps teams and clients focus on user flows and on-page content, allowing for quick iterations based on user feedback. Balsamiq has also been utilized by product management departments as an alternative to more complex design software like Photoshop or Illustrator, enabling the quick mocking up of layouts and workflows. Additionally, Balsamiq has been used by software development teams to visualize new feature enhancements and refine requirements based on customer feedback. Multiple departments across organizations have found value in Balsamiq's ability to set up mockups quickly, refine requirements, and gain approval for project planning. The software has also helped standardize the design process and improve communication between marketing and design channels. Overall, users appreciate Balsamiq for its ability to create low fidelity wireframes early in the design process, allowing for a focus on layout before getting distracted by colors and other design elements.

(26-30 of 30)One of the best tools in my toolbox.
- I really like the alternate version feature. This allows me to stay organized and reuse designs when needed easily. I can also quickly share a few options with stakeholders to elicit feedback.
- The wide variety of form fields, controls, buttons, icons make it very easy to mock up a screen. Not to mention each one can be modified to show just the right form field state or data so even though its a rough mock up I can still create a relatively realistic representation of the screen.
- I've been a Balsamiq user over the last few years and I commend them for continuing to add features that make my job easier.
- LOVE the auto save feature.
- Some people who I've shown the mock ups to for the first time are sometimes taken aback by the cartoon-like look and feel.
- I'd like to see a few more markup features so that I can have more options for visually explaining or highlighting certain portions of the screen. I don't always get the luxury of having a discussion when reviewing the mock ups with stakeholders. Sometimes its all through email.
Wiring up with Balsamiq
- Quick to make changes
- Easy to use and understand what you need
- There are wireframes objects for almost any type of UI imaginable
- More icons selection
- Not having to store and keep assets with the wireframe
- Easier to share and collaborate at the same time
Balsamiq FTW!
- The buttons and objects are intuitive.
- Flexible, easy, and quick. Low learning curve compared to much pricier mockup software.
- Highly customizable. Ability to design with a high level of granularity, which is key when dealing with older, less-techy stakeholders.
- While I understand the comic sans font, I do wish I could use a more professional font because I usually have to explain to stakeholders that they should ignore the font.
- Stronger right-click context menu functionality would make editing box colors and fonts simpler.
- Pre-defined responsize-sized templates would be awesome. Just pick a starting screen res and 5 breakpoint templates are displayed...
Balsamiq - Good for your rapid prototype.
- Quick mockup. The speed of how I can put things together using Balsamiq is impressive.
- Good add-ons such as iOS mockup assets
- Balance between "sketch" feel and "functional" prototype.
- More assets please - especially icons.
- When export out the PDF, the page doesn't fit as well. Our clients seems to get confused and tried to scroll the PDF from Balamiq instead of clicking.
- More "skin" would be great. The 2 they have are a good start, but maybe one more sketch feel but less "childish" style?
Balsamiq great planning phase mock up tool
- Balsamiq allows for quick prototypes for everyone to be on the same page
- Has useful templates to leverage quickly
- Allows users to link to other pages, to mimic true functionality
- Due to the low fidelity, users don't get hung up on color, style, etc.
- Publishable to locations others can view, if they have the application
- Would be great if Balsamiq had numerous options for publishing out to users that don't have the application.
- Continuously updating tools would be helpful, as technology is constantly evolving
- Ability to post on a secure cloud location, would be helpful, so you could share across networks, etc.
