BambooHR is human capital management software that is designed for use in small and medium organizations to support them in managing their employees in an efficient manner. It's a software that we use in our company to manage our employees, and it has helped us in great detail to manage our employees, keep them motivated, and administer their benefits on time-- as well as helping in other HR functions.
  • The software keeps the employee's details and employment history safely in a secure database, therefore assuring their confidentiality
  • Helps our company hire the right talent and employees through its applicant tracking system
  • Manages and submits our payroll on time ensuring that the employees dues and benefits and processed on time
Cons
  • It's an online solution and it's affected by poor internet connections.
  • Does not integrate much with other third-party business software
BambooHR is suited in all functions and processes of human resource management, from hiring, tracking attendance and absenteeism, payroll management, and employee onboarding among others. BambooHR is a human resource management software that we use in our company in managing our payroll, tracking the employee attendance and absenteeism, enhancing employee self-on boarding, hiring the right talent and keeping the employee information safe and accurate. The software is the designate HR solution in our company where its used extensively in the whole of our company. It has helped us solve the problem of manually managing our employees and helped us automate our HR functions.
  • Its simple to use and setting up for the first time. This makes it the preferred option all the to organizations of all sizes.
  • Ensures to hire and retain qualified and talented employees through its applicant tracking system (ATS)
  • Its accessible in both mobile and desktop devices
Cons
  • In case you fail to log out, the system can be prone to third-party accessing crucial HR records. It needs to shut down itself when left logged in and unattended for some time
  • Its affected by poor internet connections where it appears sluggish and fails to execute core HR functions
BambooHR fits in all HR scenarios where it will streamline all the key HR functions. One scenario where BambooHR fits perfectly well is in management and submission of payroll on time. Its also calculates all the required employee benefits including leave allowance, overtime among others and incorporate them in the payroll and ensure that employees receive their benefits on time and remain motivated always.

We use BambooHR to keep track of all our employees personal information, their job and pay history, managing time off, onboarding and offboarding, employee satisfaction and review surveys, and we recently started using Employee Community to create interest groups to encourage social connections in the workplace. We also frequently use the reports feature to compile data on our company.
  • I have contacted Customer Service several times and everyone I have spoken to has been amazing. I always get my questions answered in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
  • BambooHR is extremely user-friendly and easy to navigate.
  • I love that I can customize certain features according to our company's needs.
Cons
  • In Employee Community I would like to see more functionality in the groups, such as the ability to reply to certain comments, tag certain people, more reaction buttons, etc. We currently also use Google Chat and we enjoy the extra options there.
  • I would like the ability to search through the help topics more thoroughly with keywords. Sometimes I can't find what I am looking for until I reach out to customer service and they send me a link to the appropriate help page.
  • I would like the ability to create documents for signature templates in BambooHR. In the past, I have uploaded PDFs and gone through creating complicated signature templates only to find a typo or other small mistake on the original form, which meant that I had to go back to my original document, upload a new PDF form, and redo all the work. Our company is constantly trying to improve our processes and it would be nice to have the option to tweak certain parts of a form without having to redo an entire signature template.
BambooHR is the first HR platform I have experience with but it is vastly better than a more traditional file cabinet where each employee has a file with their information. I appreciate the excellent customer service and how the platform is constantly improving. We cannot utilize the payroll options because our current needs are more complicated than what Bamboo HR can handle, but for a smaller business with simpler needs, BambooHR would be a perfect all-around tool.

BambooHR is very user friendly for my employees, it is self-explanatory and I rarely have to walk people through using its different functions in order to get the full use. I appreciate the customizable nature of the home screen too.
I have contacted customer service 10+ times over the course of the last year. Every time I do the representatives are friendly and helpful. I get the answers I need quickly including additional resources I can refer to later. The representatives are knowledgeable, personable and overall very helpful.
I pull many different reports from BambooHR for a myriad of external tasks. It is very helpful to have the option to see specific data on employees all in one place and export it for reference. I also like that BambooHR saves recently pulled reports so that I don't have to start from scratch each time.
