Companies can't remove reviews or game the system. Here's why

BC easily beats Shopify, and since Magento has moved to M2, it easily outpaces Magento as well. Salesforce Commerce Cloud is more powerful and robust but requires a significant investment that is not necessarily desirable for those looking for something more lightweight, which BC fits into.

We researched a variety of products before selecting BigCommerce. The strong focus on helping B2B companies was a big reason for why we chose BigCommerce. We believed the company was more likely to have scalable products that allow us to grow our digital market to surpass our strong offline market.

We switched from Yahoo! Shopping many years ago when they really started falling behind. BigCommerce offered everything on our wish list and then some. And, they continue to add features, allowing us to always improve the customer experience.

We think BigCommerce offers some pretty distinct advantages over word press. It is all built like one, and very functional versus WP. With WP you are often cobbling together a lot of plugins. If you are a programmer with experience with WordPress you will probably be fine, but if you are like us, and not a programmer, the WordPress sites can be very intimidating, and the end result may be a website that is not very functional, or secure.

We have looked at both Shopify and Magento, both excellent products. For us, though we found the BC ticked all of the boxes and was really cost-effective, many of the features we required were built-in and the time to migrate from our previous platform was simply fantastic.

Big Commerce: Good for startups and high-growth companies. Good pricing, good functionality, easy to use, needs better reporting.
Shopify: Great except for the price is sky-high. Way too expensive for a company like us to justify.
Woo Commerce: A headache to do anything really. Very user-unfriendly, but cheap. Can't even recommend using Woo Commerce to start a business.

BigCommerce has been my hosting site since the inception of my business, and I am very pleased with the company and its employees. I understand that one can not be all things to all people unless I want to go to a customized website, which is not in my future plans.

Magento requires more developer resources which gets expensive and frustrating, particularly if you don't have an on-site development team. Shopify looks like a good platform, however, you have to pay for almost all apps. BigCommerce has more apps included with the platform which helps to keep costs down.

WordPress is ridiculously hard to learn, manage, and integrate. It’s not designed to be a one-stop-shop like BigCommerce. I like Shopify, but I would have to pay more to get what I get with BigCommerce, and I would have more apps to manage, sync, and update.

BigCommerce's biggest advantage that I've seen is the ability to have a large catalog of products compared to sites like Shopify and Squarespace. BigCommerce allows for large product menus and product options giving the users easier navigation throughout the catalog. Also, BigCommerce's customer profile is very detailed and it is easy to pull up order and customer history.

Other products I looked into either required too much expert coding to set up a website, or they were too simple and did not allow bulk product imports via flat file. BigCommerce fills the space between enterprise level and very small business well. It's a great platform for Small-Medium sized businesses.

Shopify, while it has a larger learning curve, is better able to meet our needs as we grow. The customer service is easy to understand and often has step by step instructions in order to do what we need it to do. They offer different courses and have access to more apps that help with different product growth.
