We are VERY happy with BigCommerce's ability to manage our needs for running our business. All other eCommerce platforms fall short of what is offered by BigCommerce in almost all ways. We don't plan on leaving BC anytime soon! Love it and highly recommend to others who need an eCommerce solution.

BigCommerce is a great platform! It does the job and has a very good API set. I would definitely recommend it to others, but I would warn them about the cost associated with BigCommerce. There are lower cost solutions, but definitely not as feature rich as BigCommerce. It's definitely not perfect, and has a few wrinkles to iron, but nothing is ever perfect. It does the job for us and I do enjoy using the platform!!

We are almost entirely satisfied with BigCommerce. They make things easy for us, have minimal issues, and have great performance. I have used more than 5 systems and will not switch unless something goes terribly wrong, because they are the best by a landslide.

Well - I am singing the praises of the BigCommerce platform. To date, I can honestly say that I have no real complaints about their entire system. When you have 99.9% uptime (I haven't personally experienced, nor had a customer contact me regarding an outage) and no hidden or extra fees, I'd call it a praiseworthy experience overall and find no reason not to renew.

I will continue to offer Bigcommerce to my clients until I find something better. I like a lot of the features that are coming, some I'm not at liberty to discuss but I'm concerned that the change of their pricing table will affect my willingness to continue to recommend this product. Their unofficial motto was they don't penalize you for being successful by not charging additional fees besides the monthly fee. Now they've incorporated a transaction fee on their cheapest plan and increased the monthly cost by $10.

Compared to many of the hosted solutions out there, BigCommerce is the most polished and has the most potential. If they can improve on the timeliness of the bug fixes and more flushed out enhancements, they will be a formidable player in the eCommerce landscape.

For teams of 1-2, BigCommerce will get the job done. It's not a big investment and will allow you to customize one of their themes and offers more functionality than other small shopping carts. If you expect your business to grow rapidly within 1-2 years, BigCommerce might be the wrong choice as it doesn't seem very scalable. Not being able to thoroughly customize every design of every page is a huge headache for any team of 4 or more. Not being able to customize the checkout is obvious (mess one thing up and people can't order...), but not being able to create a different look for a vastly different product? Come on! If you're somewhere between beginner and intermediate in the eComm world, then it will certainly work as a good stepping stone. The search bar is a disaster and apparently has been for a while.

Again, they focus on pre-built themes and silly beginner-esque functions over the core strengths every eCommerce site should have.

Unless there was a simple way to transfer our BC store onto a different system without having to rebuild (like Shopify) I don't think it would be worth the effort to switch. Also, employees have become used to the BC system and despite a few flaws it is working pretty well for us.

We've hit the ceiling of what we can do with Bigcommerce, but are happy with it. Our only alternative right now is a custom built solution, so we're likely to be using Bigcommerce for a long time to come until we feel its worth it to create and support a website on our own.

It's ease of use, and the ability to get a site up and running quickly, and its many different themes that are well designed. The admin panels consolidates many options for me as a developer to set up outside of the web development.
