Even with expensive apps, it still does not stack up with how well/easily Volusion worked. We spend many more hours each week with BigCommerce doing the same tasks we always did with Volusion. This is even with apps we did not need with Volusion. Just want to give an honest review in case somebody is planning moving from Volusion to BigCommerce, in my opinion, it's gonna be painful.

Overall, the scalability of BigCommerce has been very good, as my clients are constantly increasing the products they offer as well as the number of customers they serve. I would feel very comfortable recommending BigCommerce for any business that will likely need more advanced features in the future. We have added some new capabilities, and the process has been smooth. Big Commerce also has added some new features that we'll likely add in the future.

BigCommerce is designed to provide a flexible and scalable software which can be deployed across multiple departments and sites as needed. We do utilize these features and have access points for different departments and different sites.

I was recommended to use BigCommerce by a friend who runs several large companies doing online sales. She suggested them after talking to me about what I needed for my company's webstore. She suggested them as she knew they worked well for pretty much any size company you have, and can add/subtract more options/scripts as needed. After checking out the site and doing a trial to see if the website was something I could work with, and it was I signed up for an account. It has worked out perfectly for our small company, with a fair cost each month for all the services I need for my company with the added security of them running the servers and backend.

I believe after seeing all of the parts of this platform, one is able to develop the business and keep adding on select features for the business. There are multiple options for purchase with the various platforms once the business grows more. The different features being offered by the platform can lead us to scalability.

BigCommerce does great for small mom-n-pops just starting out online. But there's every single feature you need to add multiple storefronts and sub-domains in case your have - or plan on having - multiple targe markets or audience segments you'd like to target. Also, with it has omnichannel functionality so you can sell on myriad platforms and third-part seller sites like Amazon, Ebay, Walmart and more.

Lastly, BigCommerce is great for teams as many different users can be added to the back-end under various roles.

BigCommerce allowed me to scale up, and their monthly fees went up as I passed more and more of their revenue thresholds. But then my revenue started going down and I was expecting my monthly fees to drop again to be in line with their billing policies. It turns out, they have their system set to automatically raise your prices, but not to lower them. They expect the customer to inform them when they drop below revenue thresholds and tell BigCommerce when it's time to lower prices again to be in line with their published pricing. Furthermore, it took them three weeks from the time I submitted a ticket about my billing until they responded to it.

BigCommerce is a great platform, however, if you run multiple sites which aren't in the same Multi Store group then you are 100% going to need a PIM to manage your product info. Managing Themes is also not so simple and of course, the cost of apps across multiple sites easily adds up. Also, if you need anything like decent B2B functionality you will have to pay more for this as well, most of this functionality should be built into the Enterprise level anyway.

Coming from Shopify, BigCommerce is much more flexible with what you can customize throughout the entire website. Shopify has so many restrictions. So if you want to make a more customized and suitable site for a growing business, BigCommerce is best. That's why I say BigCommerce is best for medium to large businesses.

We currently do not have it deployed across multiple departments or sites. We currently only have one website and have not tried several sites or department. Hopefully as we move forward with a third party advertising company we will be able to test this the flexibility and scalability more as they build out our website.

You cannot sign up quickly for any multiplaform functionality, it is best to keep them separate anyways as if there is a billing issue with one store they will block all yoru stores.

We started out as a startup company and started with BigCommerce, and as of today, as no longer a startup company, we are still able to use BigCommerce for all of our needs. Almost every one of our departments uses BigCommerce in some capacity for their specific roles within the company.

Very easy to upgrade plans based on growth. Onboarding is fairly easy; however, it's a real pain for developers that the store owner has to add all the themes/apps or basically anything that costs money. It's hard to walk less tech-savvy people through this.

We've more than doubled is revenue since starting with BigCommerce. It was the right size for us when we started, and we don't see ourselves outgrowing BigCommerce for many years to come. Each time we ask if BigCommerce has the capability to help us reach the next stage of our growth trajectory, the answer is "YES!"

While I cannot use them due to the nature of our product, I can see that BigCommerce has a robust selection of additional marketplaces native to the backend, so no additional apps or add-ons are required, which is a nice change of pace. When I've connected my store to selling channels like Amazon, eBay, or Walmart in the past, it's always this weird, but free, third-party app and the support hasn't been great, so it's nice to see those options available native in BigCommerce. This would include social media channels and point-of-sale POS.
