What is Bigtincan?

Bigtincan is a mobile content sales enablement platform, designed to make accessing and presenting content easier for salespeople. Marketers can create logic to recommend content for salespeople to share with prospects on their mobile device, based on the stage of the deal. Then content utilization is logged automatically to Salesforce, providing marketers with insight into what content is being shared with customers.

Bigtincan can also be used to enable field service organizations with mobile content, such as forms and expert knowledge/on the job training.

Additional use cases include mobile IT service organizations (similar to the field service use case), financial services (similar to the sales enablement use case, for advisors presenting investment products), and government (for mobile document sharing during meetings).

Our [organization] uses Bigtincan Hub for elected official and committee meetings. We use the product to manage our business papers (including confidential), monitor access, restrict sharing and data leakage. We have internal staff as well as external members that access the system using iPads or laptop PC's.
  • Managing and distributing business papers.
  • Markup and annotations.
  • Sensitive document security.
  • Administration interface could be made slightly more user friendly.
  • Customisation of dashboard / homescreen is only possible by engaging third-prties.
  • Navigating tools and within documents could be easier.
Bigtincan Hub is a very well suited solution for board and other meeting management if your organisation values security and centralisation of document distribution. It has allowed us to eliminate paper based documentation for meetings, and provides meeting members instant access to documents and meeting information that can be updated by staff, as required instead of continually reprinting information.
  • Security of documents
  • Distribution of documents
  • Annotations and sharing
  • Centralised control
  • [Minimizing] paper processes and documentation.
  • Streamlining distribution of information, saving staff resources.
  • Collaboration on business papers, improving outcomes and decisions.
Diligent [Boards] was less user friendly than the Hub, and certain security and annotation features were lacking.

We currently use Bigtincan as our Sales and Marketing Enablement platform, specifically around content storage and delivery. It is being used by several departments across the organization, but not all of the organization. It serves as a one-stop for content storage where our sales teams can search for content, create content packs of different materials to present to customers, share directly from the app and access content offline when there is no access to wi-fi. We also utilize with our marketing teams to see which content is being used by the sales team, shared with customers and ultimately opened by the customers.
  • Offline capability
  • Customer service
  • Sharing directly from the app
  • There is some functionality that is missing when it comes to being able to utilize file level detail. The structure is based on a folder level organization so there is no way to tag specific files.
  • Their reporting capabilities are not super user friendly but this is made up by the customer success team.
If you do not have a lot of product lines (i.e. no more than 50), then this is the solution. This also needs a file level structure and organization so individual files/content can be tagged or utilized. Overall, I would recommend as they are changing and growing at a rapid speed.
  • Allowed our reps to increase their average time spent with customers
  • Decreased the amount of time to pull together presentations for customer meetings
  • Decreased the amount of time our marketers are 'sales support'. Specifically around the time needed to locate materials for the sales teams.
Bigtincan is much cheaper than the others and seemed to have offline capability when the others had not. They also have a more developed program on Windows 10 than the others.

Our organization has numerous systems that house data and processes we need to cite on a daily basis. BTC allows us to aggregate this information onto a single platform. Forms and information previously only accessible via desktop or behind our firewall are now accessible mobile and at anytime from iPads, iPhones, Smartphones or laptops.
  • Aggregating large amounts of information
  • Sharing information, controlling permissions and read receipts
  • Integration with other cloud based services such as Google Drive or Box
  • Easy and seamless form creation
  • Interface for developing forms and layouts are to simple
  • The simplicity of the app also inhibits the complex work flows one may want to create
  • SSO is a bit buggy at times
BTC is well suited for a mobile environment where information needs to be pushed continuously to a remote or field based work force. It is not appropriate for organizations that congregate in an office or have heavy use of desktops and laptops; there are other applications that are better suited for this environment.
  • Easy setup and development, little barrier to entry
  • Time saving for workforce in the field, saves time from citing numerous systems and VPN-ing
  • App like GUI that new employees can easily adapt to
Mobile friendly and ease of setup/development of material allowed our organization to add and refine information provided in the app without any technical assistance or need to hire a development firm to conduct the chances we sought. The ability to share information externally with privacy controls similar to Box allows our work force to safely guard information without inhibiting collaboration with external partners.

My company used BigTinCan (BTC) as a tool for the sales teams. We have 8 vehicle franchises and all salespeople were required to have an iPad to access daily and weekly sales training modules, new vehicle e-brochures, inventory, DMS etc. I was responsible for adding new members, creating training content and administering updates and maintenance of the system. I also had an entire training course for service advisors on the system.
  • BTC was great at making instant updates, revisions and immediate, real-time uploads of information to over 125 sales department employees.
  • BTC replaced wasteful paper handouts and allowed greater control of company data.
  • It was extremely easy to use by everyone regardless of expertise.
  • I really did not have any issues pertaining to improvements. The system worked very well for our purposes.
The biggest impairment to its use was individuals breaking or losing their iPads and not replacing them.
  • BTC was a great time-saver for the training department and made the use of paper handouts obsolete. I do not have a monetary figure to put on that.
BTC was the only product we used.
