Bitdefender GravityZone is the main solution for EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) in our organization and our clients' organizations aswell. Precise, reliable, providing one of the best heuristic detection engine in the market. The agent is light and the cloud platform is higly customizable, this is one the best choice for a EDR
  • Heuristic Detection
  • Constantly updated
  • The Dashboard is intuitive and easy to use
  • Whitelisting can be tricky sometimes
  • A small/medium organization can lose itself in the maze of the licensing
  • Linux protection can be highly improved
In terms of EDR, Bitdefender GravityZone is probably the best out there. The product promptly respond to threat pointing out suspicious attack paths, MiTRE ATTCK patterns and malicious files of connections. The policy configuration is broad and covers anything an IT Operation team may need. With ransomwares it's really the best EDR.

We use it in our organization as the first line of protection on all our hardware. We have been able to stop viruses and also be able to protect our employees. This product has been the best thing for defending against the attacks that are currently happening in the Cyberworld today. With the continued use of BD Gravityzone, I know that our organization is protected and I can rely on the tool to be there so I don't have to monitor it all the time.

I like it and have referred it to several colleagues across the industry. This continues to be the go-to product for us and will be as it has already did what is was bought for time and time over again. The work that BD GravitZone does is exactly what we needed it to do and with some of the newer features that are coming out this will help propel the application forward for us in Cuber protection.

Product good, administrative setup options inflexible and difficult to administer. Customer service via email takes days to respond, email replies are of little help, and no way to obtain assistance to resolve except by email. Calls to customer service support numbers are answered by call centers [that] can only relay messages to internal support departments. Problem - there is no way to remove a partner without having another partner replace the old partner even if the license was purchased and set up directly and not through a partner. After purchase and setup of BGZ, brought on external IT assistance who added themselves on as a partner to our existing license. When migrating to a new IT support provider, unable to remove the old partner and the new IT provider was not a Bitdefender partner so could not replace the old partner account. After several emails back and forth, BD advised partner could not be removed and offered no solution. The previous partner deleted our account without notification after renewal and account access [was] disabled. Bitdefender advised not possible to regain access to the account and must set up a new account then delete and install new instances on all computers. In addition, the 1-year license just purchased cannot be activated in a new account and a new license must be purchased. As it's not user-friendly and customer service is lacking, do not recommend it for small businesses.
  • Antivirus and anti-malware protection
  • Cloud management of devices
  • Does not noticeably impact computer resources
  • Email support only, too slow to respond and not particularly helpful. Too much back and forth to resolve issues
  • Requires tech proficiency and time to deploy and maintain
  • The renewal process results in losing days from the old license unless perfectly timed to add a new license added on the date the old license expires. results in changing the annual renewal date every year
  • No way to remove partner and retain access to account
Better suited to businesses with experienced and dedicated IT support

It is installed on my endpoints (servers and computers/laptops). We also have an email security add-on for filtering spam, phishers, and virus-ridden emails. It also is used to scan links in emails that could lead to infected websites which otherwise would have made their way onto our network.
  • Syncs with AD
  • On top of latest threats
  • Blocks bad links
  • Tech Support
  • Video Tutorials
  • SLA - Response time
  • Instruction manuals
The product itself is great and does a good job. Support is terrible. It takes days/weeks to get a response. I've asked for assistance in setting up custom filters to stop certain emails, and get a constant back and forth email correspondence asking me to submit samples. I don't want to do that, I only want instructions. I've asked for tutorials/manuals so I can read and hopefully set it up myself, and I'm told they don't have what I need. There is no way to support yourself or learn. They won't offer remote support, as I've requested. Oh, and they absolutely will NOT assist in the initial setup. They don't do that. They only help if you have an issue. No, they don't even do that.

Bitdefender GravityZone is being used by our whole organization. It is an amazing product! The main business problem it addresses is our security! It protects all our Windows workstations, Windows servers, and Macs. It has a very small footprint and barely uses any system resources, yet runs very efficiently. Very little user interaction is required to keep our systems safe.
  • Network attack defense
  • Ransomware prevention
  • Web-based, no hardware needed
  • Picks up threats early that other providers do not
  • Support is sometimes hard to get a hold of.
  • The installer package is very small but needs to download files, can take a while on slower networks.
  • Support documentation is not written for the average end-user.
Bitdefender GravityZone is well suited for all departments throughout an organization. It doesn't just target one user's needs. It picks up threats that other antivirus solutions do not. It has antivirus and anti-malware features in a single piece of software with a very small footprint on the systems it is installed on.

I use Bitdefender GravityZone with multiple clients, ranging in size from only a couple of employees up to nearly 100. While Bitdefender works cross-platform (Mac and Windows), in general, it is used primarily on Windows computers across an entire organization. Bitdefender [GravityZone] is an extremely comprehensive security suite, so it handles virtually all security needs from anti-virus to ransomware protection to a software firewall.
  • Once installed, Bitdefender [GravityZone] runs silently in the background with little to no need for user interaction.
  • The cloud-based console provides for easy computer management and deployment.
  • Bitdefender [GravityZone] is extremely flexible, with a policy-based system wherein different profiles can be created (i.e. a policy to deactivate the firewall, a policy to allow for admin control on a machine, etc.) and pushed out to individual computers.
  • Computers can be grouped into different categories, with different policies automatically deployed to each category.
  • Bitdefender [GravityZone] is relatively resource-light and runs well even on lower-end computers.
  • An individual computer or server can be set up as an endpoint relay - wherein workstations can communicate directly with this relay vs. the Bitdefender [GravityZone] cloud. In theory, this would be ideal for offices with a slow internet connection, in practice, however, the relay connection is flaky and buggy.
  • The initial install process, while easy, can take a while when compared to other antivirus solutions. In general, it takes anywhere from 5 - 10 min to install.
  • Once installed, no settings can be changed directly on a computer, all changes need to be made via the [Bitdefender] GravityZone web page.
  • The installer package itself is rather large when compared to competitors. The packages [are] around 600 - 700 MB.
  • Support can be slow to respond at times.
[Bitdefender] GravityZone is ideal for virtually any sized business, though at smaller sizes (3 - 5 computers/users) other options may be more cost-effective, including other Bitdefender [GravityZone] products. In addition, while Bitdefender [GravityZone]'s flexibility and power-user features are really nice, these same features can make it difficult to use for the less tech-inclined. Finally, Bitdefender [GravityZone] is ideal for Windows servers as it can be figured specifically for server use.

We are a Managed Service Provider. I have been advocating for Bitdefender GravityZone when I first started here over five years ago. We finally made the change from Kaspersky to Bitdefender about two years ago and we will never go back. We have rolled out Bitdefender GravityZone both internally and across our entire client base. It runs with a very small footprint and stops any threat thrown at it.I can't say enough good things about this product.
  • Small footprint with minimum resources required
  • Very adept at stopping 0-Day Threats
  • Scans are quick and efficient
  • Works on Windows and Macs
  • Centrally controlled, very easy to update policies
  • Better reporting, more options for reports
  • New cloud dashboard is harder to navigate than previous
  • Cloud dashboard isn't very user friendly for new techs
What can I say? Bitdefender GravityZone does its job and it does it well. It is very light on its resource footprint and does a great job of stopping threats. We are a MSP and use this product both internally and for our entire client base. We had a new client come to us because they were compromised via Webroot. We took an image of their hard drive, ran it through Bitdefender, and it caught what Webroot didn't.

We use it for our entire organization for virus protection. We chose to have all our users on the same protection plan.
  • Users are protected without them having to manage the product themselves
  • Being able to manage computers in our organization thru the cloud is especially helpful when we have users all across the country and South America
  • Bitdefender uses less computer resources than many other virus protection products we've used in the past
  • I do not like having to correspond by email. When I have an issue I do not have time to wait 6-8 hours for a reply. I want to do a chat or a phone call.
  • I find their cloud dashboard a bit challenging to navigate. I can never find the option I need without searching thru every category.
  • I do not like that it takes 48 hours for the cloud to update when there is an issue with a client computer when I am working on it remotely.
Our in-house management is quite easy. Those computers I can do hands-on. It is when I need to depend on the cloud to manage a computer that is having issues that can be more of a challenge.

We deploy and use Bitdefender GravityZone at multiple sites and organizations. Bitdefender GravityZone deployment and ease of use is quite simple. Having an EDR and EPP is crucial these days with evolving threats.
  • Cloud-based console
  • EDR and EPP packed in one with simple use
  • Detailed reports with ability to dig down
  • Multi-tenant console if required
  • Transparent pricing based on modules
  • Dashboards leave much to be desired (shows you problem but can’t drill down from dashboard)
  • UI can be somewhat confusing especially under multi-tenant mode
SMB market is where this product will really be at home. It has the right amount of enterprise features to be useful, such as EDR, patch management, and risk analysis. However for larger enterprise sites this may not be ideal as the reporting and dashboards are lacking.

We are currently using Bitdefender GravityZone for antivirus, patch management, and encryption for our mobile devices. It allows us to have a one-stop shop solution for the various devices we have in our organization.
This helps us use a web-based platform for our devices that are spread throughout a large area and across multiple locations.
  • Antivirus/malware
  • Encryption management
  • Web filtering
  • Patch management
  • Customer service--they direct you to YouTube links and offer answers that are easy but not a good solution. (e.g., Delete old records instead of figuring out why multiple instances are showing up in the dashboard)
  • Android/iOS devices can't be managed unless on a local network with on-premises solution
  • More robust web filtering platform
We use the web-based version to push down operating system updates, antivirus, and enforce encryption policies for our laptops. Bitdefender GravityZone doesn't work well for Android devices. I also feel that the web filtering platform of Bitdefender GravityZone could use some more work. Currently it does a great job at web filtering; however, I haven't been able to deep dive into it yet and am not sure how granular it can get when it comes to specific users being allowed to access certain domains.

We are managing MSPs with thousands of corporate end customers, and are also using it in house. We give trainings and demos on it and sell support services with it.
  • Easy to deploy and manage.
  • Several layers of protection.
  • Valuable add on packages such as encryption, patch management and EDR.
  • Mobile Device Management is missing for cloud users.
  • Reports should be more flexible/self-creat[ing].
  • Executive summary should be able to be printed.
  • Tech support response is too slow.
It is perfect for companies between 10-1000 seats. The lack of MDM makes it challenging in Enterprise environments where UEM is important. Also would it be nice to have a couple of RMM functionalities such as remote desktop and deployment of other software through it.

Bitdefender is set out across our entire organization across all Windows PCs. It runs standard anti-virus, as well as anti-malware and network protection. It is one layer of security in our entire security/protection strategy. I use the GravityZone side to manage Bitdefender, which is simple to configure but offers complexity where it needs it. Having this cloud hosted means I don't require hardware onsite to run a server.
  • Low CPU and memory use.
  • Cloud-based hosting doesn't require hardware onsite.
  • Has kept us "clean" for the past several years.
  • Notifications of events can come in slowly.
  • Reporting detail is lacking in some areas.
  • Bitdefender occasionally releases new features but doesn't explain what they do well.
At my previous organization, we rolled out Bitdefender to a 200+ user agency. In my current position, we have 50 users, so Bitdefender works well across smaller and mid-size organizations.

Bitdefender GravityZone is being used at a couple of our clients as primary AntiVirus and Malware threat security software running at the desktop and server level.
  • Easy to use the cloud-based console.
  • Easy to configure and deploy.
  • Digital wallet for password protection is lacking.

Bitdefender is our primary AV solution for our organization and for all organizations we support through our Managed Service Provider partnership. Bitdefender provides an affordable, platform for all users.
  • A cost-effective solution, pay for what you need.
  • Out of the box configuration. More features generally result in more settings to configure. Bitdefender has created standard out of the box policies that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Easy to install. Installation instructions can be sent directly to the portal and done by the end-user.
  • It needs a smaller installation package. The install is very large.
  • Better logging at the endpoint level.
Any customer looking for a module AV system. The basic service is very cost-effective while the system with all modules enabled still competes with enterprise AV.

We are a manages dervice provider who used to resell BitDefender as the primary antivirus to our clients at around 300 Endpoints.GravityZone works well for MSPs as there is a single pane of glass and it is easy to manage and setup multiple tenants.
  • Multi-tenant management
  • Global policy change
  • Nested policy management
  • Single pane of glass
  • Poor Apple (Mac) support
  • High resource usage
  • Challenging reporting model
If your environment is primarily Windows-based, this solution would work well, however, if you support Apple devices as well, there are significant features that are missing (i.e. scheduling updates. This is available for Windows agents, but not for Mac).

I resale the Bitdefender Cloud antivirus and use the GravityZone to create the packages and rules. I use it as a monitoring tool as well for all my clients.
  • Deployment of client
  • Rules for exclusions
  • Monitoring or all assets
  • Better overall stats and pie chart for a quick dashboard of all clients.
  • Risk assessment or improvement scanner
Best suited if for a company with lost of different partners.

Less suitable is for personal usage.

Our agency operates Supportive In-Home services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. As such, our networks must comply with HIPAA securities. Our administrative workforce has Bitdefender installed on on each computer. Additionally, it is installed on our lab computers used by staff to complete sensitive transactions online and general use.

Most of our workforce are field users (the persons providing the direct care). These employees are provided tablets to access our Electronic Health Record system. It did not seem practical or necessary to install a mobile version given the limited use we have deployed on the tablets.

Business problems are generally minimal. However, unless the administrator knows how to access and configure policy assignments and monitor activities, it is difficult to know how to set up and deploy. It happens that I have used, deployed and implemented polices when I worked for an IT company. It was because of this experience that I chose this option for my company.

The other business problem is that while I made a purchase though Bit Defender web site, the license increases and renewals needed to go through an independent vendor. The parten company does not do a good job explaining this.
  • The Gravity Zone console is quite easy to use, particularly if the person assigned to implement and deploy have a good understanding of how to make it work to get at the information needed.
  • The Dashboard is customizable to get at the information needed in one location.
  • Pushing tasks across the network is quite easy.
  • Having said the what is available in gravity zone, it is easy to see what devices have activity that frequently result in quarantines. This allows us to address "misuse" of our devices. Which brings me to my final point...
  • The policies can be set up to lock devices down with very strict rules (such as device locking) or with relaxed policies.
  • Who do I ask? This is my chief complaint is once the initial licenses were purchased through Bit Defender, there was no one to contact that could help navigate some of the initial questions I had with regard to specific policies to implement for our file server. The parent web site is, well, hard to navigate when one is trying to "learn" the system.
  • The second issue is in increasing the licenses. It took several days for the parent company (by contact and phone) to inform me that they could not increase the licenses and I would have to go through a private vendor. There was no intent to connect me to a vendor or provide a vendor list until I asked specifically. YET I continue to get email from the parent company reminding me to pay an annual fee for the licenses purchase through the private vendor. The parent company can see the number of licenses yet did not sell them to me.
  • Gravity Zone Dashboard, while excellent for those who have experience, is not particularly intuitive for those who have never used it. There does not seem to be a lot of documentation for those responsible for implementation.
Bitdefender is well suited for companies that require a high level of security and desire a high level of control and flexibility for developing policies that are user group specific. Companies that have internal IT should find this very useful. Companies that are externally hire to provide IT business management solutions would also find this very beneficial.

We're a technology company, SME size. Having tried various and somewhat inadequate anti-virus / anti-malware products I decided to try Bitdefender's enterprise offering, in the form of GravityZone. I was familiar with Bitdefender's home user products and liked the fact that independent testing consistently showed Bitdefender's detection rates at the top of the rankings, so was keen to test their enterprise product. Our objective was to protect our internal network from malware and other threats. We've installed across the organisation and I manage everything from the web-based admin console. It works very well.
  • Detection rates are industry leading, and with very few if any false positives.
  • The endpoint software is also very lightweight. We've had problems with previous alternate AV software hogging resources. Not so with Bitdefender GravityZone.
  • Something I find irritating when using the web console to administer or view reports etc, is that you can't use the browser 'back' button!
  • I've also found at times the remote deployment to be a little unreliable. I've had to resort to using 3rd-party tools to deploy to some machines on our domain.
This is a slightly odd question about a software product with a very clear purpose. Bitdefender GravityZone is well suited to the scenario where you have a corporate network and you want to protect your users and computers from viruses and malware. It's not so well suited to a home environment but it's not aimed at a home environment.

We use Bitdefender GravityZone as our primary antivirus software for our entire network.
  • Bitdefender uses far fewer resources on the client computers than several other antivirus programs I have used.
  • The web portal is pretty easy to use and gives a good amount of information in regards to the health of the computers.
  • There are periodically times which Windows thinks no antivirus or firewall is active on a computer, even when Bitdefender is there.
Bitdefender GravityZone is well suited for businesses which want to have an easy to use web-based interface.

I'm not sure if highly regulated companies (medical practices, government, etc.) would be able to use the standard setup of Bitdefender GravityZone.

We have been using Bitdefender GravityZone for more than year and it's been wonderful. The ability to check and do everything online is great. No need to install the software on the server and keep up to date. That was a big headache. Installing Bitdefender on the workstations has been very easy and simple. Managing them online also been very easy. Highly recommended.

Bitdefender GravityZone is used across the entire organization. We use it as our primary malware deterrent.
  • Cloud dashboard
  • Ease of deployment to new clients
  • Custom deployment options/policies
  • New features - ransomware vaccine, etc.
  • Difference between server/client license
  • Cost for NGOs
  • Ability to manage users/admins, particularly delete admins
Works well with distributed/mobile clients as reports/heartbeat are sent to cloud dashboard. But, the system quickly shifts to panic mode when it is not connected to the Internet. This can be alarming for end users. Some flexibility would be appreciated.

Deleting a computer from a group does not automatically delete it from all areas. It requires an extra step to delete permanently.

Our web design business uses Bitdefender GravityZone to secure our high-end business computers. It keeps our systems safe from hackers and viruses and is very easy to set up and use. It does not slow down our operations in any way. The configuration, set up, management, and monitoring are very simple and easy, and the software is streamlined with simplicity and ease of use.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone is well suited for small or medium-sized businesses that need strong security because it's makers put a lot of extra thinking into the software.
  • The web-based administrative management panel is very robust and modern.
  • The software knows how to detect new malware and viruses based on complex algorithms.
  • Reporting can get complicated, especially if you are managing a lot of users.
  • Customer service is not the fastest or most thorough in their responses.
  • Their documentation does not make it easy to browse through and find instructions.
Bitdefender GravityZone is great for small or medium-sized businesses who need a strong security platform that is easy to set up and manage. The web-based interface and easy administrative panel functions make it time-efficient for busy business owners, who don't want to a lot of hassle in their computer security setup and management. If you are just a one-person business who does not need a lot of security, then this might not be the right software for you.

As an MSP, we use BitDefender GravityZone as our anti-malware program of choice. Between the BitDefender integration with Solarwinds RMM and the easy-to-manage GravityZone portal, we can administer several thousand endpoints and secure them. This provides us with a low hassle solution that enables enterprise-level malware detection and removal capabilities. The lightweight nature of the software and the manageability from a central cloud-based platform make it a fantastic solution for any MSP.
  • Bitdefender does exactly what it should do: it detects, blocks, or removes malware effectively. Between scheduled scans, heuristics monitoring, and device scans, most potential infections are caught quickly and cleanly resolved with little to no intervention needed from our team.
  • GravityZone offers extremely frequent definition updates and reporting on which endpoints aren't fully up to date and may need manual intervention.
  • With policies, you can quickly and easily roll out different schedules, scan profiles, and more, to individual or groups of devices. This can be scaled up easily to roll out for individual companies or across a larger base of multiple supported customers.
  • Having a single product that can secure both PCs and Macs and be managed in the same cloud-based interface is fantastic.
  • Obtaining the specific report you wish to see can be a bit difficult at times.
  • Having the installation packages of the software listed under the "Network" header is a bit odd and has caused confusion for infrequent users.
  • The attempts to automatically uninstall competing AV products sometimes go awry and can cause problems for both the previously installed software and potential installations of Bitdefender. We recommend uninstalling competing products through their own recommended steps before installing Bitdefender for best results.
GravityZone is a great product that I would highly recommend to any MSP seeking a solution to provide AV services for multiple clients. However, it is not something I would recommend for a super small business seeking to secure just a few workstations. Most of the features would be of minor value in those environments.

We are using Bitdefender through our entire organization, we migrated from Avast! and process was fairly smooth. I am not overly fond of having to "tune" UAC during the deployment process nor am I fond of the fact that you cannot have multiple licenses with different expiration of the same type of client. That being said Bitdefender is one of the best products on the market and the fact that their engine is licensed to about a dozen other popular AV products speaks volumes. Randsomware detection and prevention seems to be second to none and the overall management of the product is mature and intuitive unlike some if their primary competitors. Overall I am very satisfied and would highly recommend to anyone.
  • Randomware detection and prevention
  • Centralized and simply policy based management with AD integration
  • Centralized scanning offloads much of the processing needed and frees the client to be used for its intended purpose.
  • You cannot run multiple licenses for any given client type. An example would be if I purchase a group of clients and need to add more licensing my only option is to prorate into the existing, I cannot run a separate license file with a separate expirations date. This can pose an issue if trying to divide licensing for budgetary purposes or simple expansion.
  • While the deployment process was smooth overall for us UAC does need to be tweaked for it to be successful. This really shouldn't be necessary.
  • During the sales process it was stressed that Bitdefender would automatically remove our existing AV product making deployment extremely simple, this however turned out to not be the case and our existing AV had to be removed by other means.
I would highly recommend Bitdefender to anyone for most any situation. We currently are using it for both our infrastructure and our clients and have been extremely pleased with its performance overall. The client is light and centralized scanning can move processing off of the client.
