Bitdefender GravityZone is being used at our two libraries to meet the demands for our information technology security. We count on Bitdefender to protect us from Malware, Viruses, Ransomware, etc... We are also using the web filter option to filter out pornography and so on. I enjoy the user interface provided by Bitdefender. We could not be more pleased and I plan to renew our subscription when our renewal arrives.
  • Great success with the web filter. Once I've entered a site to be blocked, within several minutes I can test and see that the site is, in fact, blocked.
  • The ease of installation is paramount. Logging into the gravityzone website is a breeze. Right in front of you is the offer to "install on this machine" option. Very easy to use. The portlets on the dashboard are the best. Once arranged to my liking - it's a sure fire and quick way to glance at the network health overall.
  • The ease of pushing commands and instructions to individual machines under the network menu option is fantastic. I can select a single machine for a scan and many other things or can select the entire network.
  • Love the detailed info that is given for any chosen machine.
  • Had a little trouble when deleting a computer from the network list. Learned it was best to move it to the deleted folder first, then delete from there. Maybe this could be noted by an * or something at the bottom if one is going to delete a computer.
  • Maybe send a verification email if logging into the website from a new device or one that is not used often and then add that machine to the trusted list for devices that can log on.
  • Offer a user interface choice or theme so that we may change to color of our dashboard.
Recently, we were hit with malware attack. Included several different machines from both libraries. I was unaware until I logged in to my Bitdefender Gravityzone account. I checked my alerts and say that we had sustained a malware outbreak. Looked through the log files and saw that all machines were safe and protected by Bitdefender. We printed and displayed the results to the board at our monthly board meeting.

We use Bitdefender GravityZone as our primary antivirus software for our entire network.
  • Bitdefender uses far fewer resources on the client computers than several other antivirus programs I have used.
  • The web portal is pretty easy to use and gives a good amount of information in regards to the health of the computers.
  • There are periodically times which Windows thinks no antivirus or firewall is active on a computer, even when Bitdefender is there.
Bitdefender GravityZone is well suited for businesses which want to have an easy to use web-based interface.

I'm not sure if highly regulated companies (medical practices, government, etc.) would be able to use the standard setup of Bitdefender GravityZone.

We use Bitdefender GravityZone across our whole organization. We have it installed on Apple and Windows devices, about 18 in total. We were having issues with a consistent platform to ensure we were protected from viruses on computers. Each device had something different and we decided to purchase a product to have consistency throughout our devices to ensure we were properly protected. It addresses the issue we had with not knowing if we were protected enough from security risks and a way to monitor each device.
  • Easy interface for all device monitoring.
  • Automatic scheduling of anti-virus scans.
  • Responsive customer service.
  • Sometimes automatic scans do not happen and have to initiate manually.
  • More detailed reports of scan and results would be helpful in order to analyze devices productivity.
  • Faster scans.
This is a great system for a team who needs a consistent way of monitoring a variety of devices for anti-virus, phishing, etc. It is easy to use, and the interface to log in and view each device is convenient and has everything you need in one place. The price is worth what you are receiving in the reassurance that you are safe from online threats.

We have been using Bitdefender GravityZone for more than year and it's been wonderful. The ability to check and do everything online is great. No need to install the software on the server and keep up to date. That was a big headache. Installing Bitdefender on the workstations has been very easy and simple. Managing them online also been very easy. Highly recommended.
  • Auto updates
  • Keep it in the cloud
  • Setup scans whenever you want
  • The interface can use more improvements
  • Sometimes installation doesn't go smooth
It's well suited for small and big firms.

Bitdefender GravityZone is used across the entire organization. We use it as our primary malware deterrent.
  • Cloud dashboard
  • Ease of deployment to new clients
  • Custom deployment options/policies
  • New features - ransomware vaccine, etc.
  • Difference between server/client license
  • Cost for NGOs
  • Ability to manage users/admins, particularly delete admins
Works well with distributed/mobile clients as reports/heartbeat are sent to cloud dashboard. But, the system quickly shifts to panic mode when it is not connected to the Internet. This can be alarming for end users. Some flexibility would be appreciated.

Deleting a computer from a group does not automatically delete it from all areas. It requires an extra step to delete permanently.

Our web design business uses Bitdefender GravityZone to secure our high-end business computers. It keeps our systems safe from hackers and viruses and is very easy to set up and use. It does not slow down our operations in any way. The configuration, set up, management, and monitoring are very simple and easy, and the software is streamlined with simplicity and ease of use.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone is well suited for small or medium-sized businesses that need strong security because it's makers put a lot of extra thinking into the software.
  • The web-based administrative management panel is very robust and modern.
  • The software knows how to detect new malware and viruses based on complex algorithms.
  • Reporting can get complicated, especially if you are managing a lot of users.
  • Customer service is not the fastest or most thorough in their responses.
  • Their documentation does not make it easy to browse through and find instructions.
Bitdefender GravityZone is great for small or medium-sized businesses who need a strong security platform that is easy to set up and manage. The web-based interface and easy administrative panel functions make it time-efficient for busy business owners, who don't want to a lot of hassle in their computer security setup and management. If you are just a one-person business who does not need a lot of security, then this might not be the right software for you.

Bitdefender GravityZone is being used across my entire organization on every endpoint. It addresses the need for a robust antivirus/antimalware solution that is best-in-class and cost-effective.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone offers some of, if not the highest, rated scanning engines available.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone is one the easier to install solutions available.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone offers a very clear and robust interface to manage all endpoints.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone could offer more panes-per-page for their management interface.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone could offer more higher-tier options to the lower packages a-la-carte.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone could offer direct sales instead of being forced to use a re-seller.
Bitdefender is well suited for most SMB environments. I am not certain how appropriate it is for enterprise-level installations that require a bit more granularity and control, which it probably does not offer.

Bitdefender GravityZone is being used across the whole company (three locations). It is used on physical endpoints and also on virtual desktop endpoints (VMware Horizon View).
  • Integrates well with VMware NSX to support virtual environments.
  • Fairly easy to set up in VMware NSX virtual environments.
  • For both physical and virtual environments it is fairly easy to set up policies to control how/why/when/which pieces of Bitdefender.
  • Fairly complete "dashboard" to manage the environment(s).
  • Good integration with Active Directory.
  • When kicking off scans (or other tasks) from the GravityZone dashboard it creates a task - and until the task is complete, what is happening can be a little vague. I'd like to see a little bit more detail on the progress perhaps.
  • Reporting, scheduling reports can be cumbersome. Might be better if it had some sample reports or would generate on the screen what a given report might look like.
  • It is good at updating but to figure out what you need to update you have to look in multiple places - Needs some streamlining and simplifying.
  • Better follow up on long-running support tickets.
I can't think of a specific scenario where Bitdefender GravityZone would be less appropriate. I like it for the virtual desktop world. In fact that was my original reason for picking it. They were the only one who had a product ready to go when I began testing VDI. They were very helpful and they understood why I wanted to use VMware's "model" of providing AV at the network layer.

We utilize GravityZone for both our internal security needs as well as that of our clients.
  • Easy centralized management & deployment
  • Low system resource impact
  • Very effective at keeping devices secure
  • Support is really friendly and smart, but sometimes it feels a bit hard to reach them or get a response quickly
  • The documentation isn't always well-integrated into the software, so you either need to be familiar with it already, get help, or search the docs / contact support yourself
We have found GZ to be very well respected within the IT community, effective at what it does, frequently improving features and updates, and leading the industry in terms of centralized management, low system impact, and effectiveness at keeping devices secure. We have seen it work very effectively in organizations of just a few devices all the way into thousands.

We are a managed service provider, and provide antivirus to over 2,000 devices using Bit Defender Gravityzone. With it, we are able to assign exception profiles to our clients easily. This normalizes the way we deliver security to our clients, and streamlines our tech's ability to work on virus alerts.
  • Content Control: Internet blocking that covers all browsers. You can set categories of sites to block (social media, pornography), and whitelist/blacklist sites individually as well.
  • Management of client-specific virus profiles is extremely easy.
  • The protection offered by Bit Defender is very good and it's usually at the top of the list of virus software that is considered best in class.
  • Reporting isn't great. It can be difficult to get a good view of what's going on across 2,000 devices.
  • You can't move a computer from one company to another without uninstalling and reinstalling Bitdefender.
Bitdefender is well suited for managed service providers who have a lot of devices they need to protect. However, you do have to perform manual checks on the dashboard, because the reporting is really not the strong suit. They are working on this, and once in a while, I'll see new reports available. However, I am confident in security, and I love the ability to block internet usage.

As an MSP, we use BitDefender GravityZone as our anti-malware program of choice. Between the BitDefender integration with Solarwinds RMM and the easy-to-manage GravityZone portal, we can administer several thousand endpoints and secure them. This provides us with a low hassle solution that enables enterprise-level malware detection and removal capabilities. The lightweight nature of the software and the manageability from a central cloud-based platform make it a fantastic solution for any MSP.
  • Bitdefender does exactly what it should do: it detects, blocks, or removes malware effectively. Between scheduled scans, heuristics monitoring, and device scans, most potential infections are caught quickly and cleanly resolved with little to no intervention needed from our team.
  • GravityZone offers extremely frequent definition updates and reporting on which endpoints aren't fully up to date and may need manual intervention.
  • With policies, you can quickly and easily roll out different schedules, scan profiles, and more, to individual or groups of devices. This can be scaled up easily to roll out for individual companies or across a larger base of multiple supported customers.
  • Having a single product that can secure both PCs and Macs and be managed in the same cloud-based interface is fantastic.
  • Obtaining the specific report you wish to see can be a bit difficult at times.
  • Having the installation packages of the software listed under the "Network" header is a bit odd and has caused confusion for infrequent users.
  • The attempts to automatically uninstall competing AV products sometimes go awry and can cause problems for both the previously installed software and potential installations of Bitdefender. We recommend uninstalling competing products through their own recommended steps before installing Bitdefender for best results.
GravityZone is a great product that I would highly recommend to any MSP seeking a solution to provide AV services for multiple clients. However, it is not something I would recommend for a super small business seeking to secure just a few workstations. Most of the features would be of minor value in those environments.

Bitdefender GravityZone is being used to manage and protect Mac and Windows clients as well as Mac and Windows servers.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone is easy to deploy and manage. We spend less system administration time.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone does an excellent job of reporting issues and helps isolate systems that are affected.
  • Bitdefender GravityZone has had issues with different administrative users. Could be better at assigning similar roles.
Bitdefender GravityZone is well suited in a multi-platform environment. Top quality product for protecting Mac and Windows clients.

GravityZone is used for personal computer protection as an anti-virus software. It helps ensure protection against attacks to personal information. It also helps get data more secure on a desktop/laptop and scans incoming threats and or reviews content before launching to help protect your PC and information. Also has automatic regular updates so no need to ensure you are protected.
  • Updates regularly to ensure you are protected
  • Flags any malware or unexpected downloads etc
  • Protects personal information
  • Slows down computer
  • Doesn't learn which items are safe so you have to "ok" similar items more than once
  • Sometimes stops working and you have to refresh or reboot
Great for personal use and remote installation update so no need for tech support to have the latest functionality. States that is has strong machine learning but I haven't found that when using I had to reauthorize items more than once (e.g. safe sites). Shares the items blocks or attacks made to improve your awareness on attacks. It is not free and there are comparable free tools out there in my opinion.

We are using Bitdefender through our entire organization, we migrated from Avast! and process was fairly smooth. I am not overly fond of having to "tune" UAC during the deployment process nor am I fond of the fact that you cannot have multiple licenses with different expiration of the same type of client. That being said Bitdefender is one of the best products on the market and the fact that their engine is licensed to about a dozen other popular AV products speaks volumes. Randsomware detection and prevention seems to be second to none and the overall management of the product is mature and intuitive unlike some if their primary competitors. Overall I am very satisfied and would highly recommend to anyone.
  • Randomware detection and prevention
  • Centralized and simply policy based management with AD integration
  • Centralized scanning offloads much of the processing needed and frees the client to be used for its intended purpose.
  • You cannot run multiple licenses for any given client type. An example would be if I purchase a group of clients and need to add more licensing my only option is to prorate into the existing, I cannot run a separate license file with a separate expirations date. This can pose an issue if trying to divide licensing for budgetary purposes or simple expansion.
  • While the deployment process was smooth overall for us UAC does need to be tweaked for it to be successful. This really shouldn't be necessary.
  • During the sales process it was stressed that Bitdefender would automatically remove our existing AV product making deployment extremely simple, this however turned out to not be the case and our existing AV had to be removed by other means.
I would highly recommend Bitdefender to anyone for most any situation. We currently are using it for both our infrastructure and our clients and have been extremely pleased with its performance overall. The client is light and centralized scanning can move processing off of the client.

We use Bitdefender on all workstations and servers. It solves our need to protect our systems from malware and from malware-infected sites. It scans any device connected to the computer when inserted, so that USB drives, DVD drives, and other external sources can't contaminate the computer. Bitdefender is an easy-to-install, easy to maintain, and easy to update anti-malware solution--no matter how large or how small your system footprint is. The GravityZone product is cloud-based, which means that I can get a handle on installations, infections, and settings no matter where I am or what time of day it is. The cloud-based solution is somewhat different than the on-premise version, but for budget-minded companies, the cloud version (GravityZone) works very well.
  • Bitdefender automatically updates without any user intervention. Updates happen in the background and a reboot is not required--at least in two years it hasn't been.
  • I schedule Bitdefender to perform full scans on systems every Friday. I've never had a user complain about a system that is slow because of the full scan.
  • I like that we can manage Bitdefender actions and features from the website. For example, I can place systems in different groups or profiles to enable or disable different features.
  • I also like that Bitdefender has its own built-in firewall. It's very restrictive and logs every action against it.
  • I wish we could access logs from the cloud-based product. Not just in a viewable sense but from a download so that we can scrape them for interesting strings.
  • Bitdefender needs to make it easier to export data from the web interface. As it stands now, it's a time-consuming copy and paste activity.
  • I would like for there to a notification service when someone encounters malware. For example, an email to our IT team when someone's Bitdefender quarantines a file.
Bitdefender just works. Apple people should love it. It covers all the bases: Workstations, Servers, Macs, Linux, and Windows. It is good for any IT person or group who wants excellent malware protection but doesn't have a lot of time to deal with user complaints, BSODs, and other issues frequently encountered with other anti-malware software. Bitdefender, in my opinion, is good for any size company or business that needs anti-malware software that is easy to use and to maintain.

I currently manage an installation of this product with end clients installed on approx 40 devices across our geographic region. Primarily I manage this AV/Malware suite via its web hosted front end with installations existing on 4 servers and a number of cash register systems. The software is used as a measure of risk management for the PCI compliant payment systems that I maintain.
  • Allows a solid form of risk management as well as a measure of remote device management; very hands off which I appreciate it.
  • The client itself is very low-resource, some of the systems I have it deployed on are older and it does not eat up a lot of system resources
  • Custom package deployments. The user interface is easy to maintain once it is setup. Customer service is solid - I've never had a problem getting through to someone and they have always been able to help me with any problems/questions
  • cost effective
  • The interface can be a little clunky but once you are familiarized with it it is easy enough to use
  • Task assignment is a little weird - not a learning curve but again, a little clunky
  • Reporting is pretty high orbit - it is not able to export a granular report on more than one target. If you bulk export it is very low detail.
Well suited for: device management (low level.) AV and Malware protection. Developing specific av packages for different systems. In general I am very happy with this product.

GravityZone is deployed across the major company business unit with about 200 users. It has solved 2 issues:

  • Auto deployment across scattered departments geographically
  • One windowpane view of updates, infections, resolutions and deployments.
  • Agentless installs
  • Uses low system resources
  • Good user visibility
  • Patch management
  • MDM
  • Exception list
Generally good user control and server maintenance. Good server deployment path but could use more user-based reports.
