I am currently the system admin. I create users, assign and redistribute users and build teams and organizational structure. I also use it by jumping in to prepare, approve or review as well train others how to use it.

Blackline was used to perform balance sheet reconciliation as well as posting financial adjustment during month end closing. It is user friendly system where system will prompt error message when incorrect data inserted. The batch upload template of the financial adjustment template save time and work in efficient way to reduce any potential mistake.

Account Reconciliations, Journal Entries, Cash Applications, Task Management

We implemented BlackLine as part of our Finance Transformation process. It gave us great visibility not only of the month end close process, but the day-to-day accounting functions as well. We were able to reduce time to close and save hours of manual work and spreadsheets. We currently utilize the Reconciliations, Tasks and Matchin modules, but with the help of the Optimization team, we were able to automate AT and Fixed Assets Rollforward reconciliations. BlackLine has helped us move away from color coded massive excel documents, to a more streamlined and efficient approach in the accounting organization. Team members were spending hours updating massive excel workbooks entirely by rote with little to no understanding of the mechanics, which was a time drain and caused errors that were not always noticed. Since implementing BlackLine, we have saved hours of time and enabled the analysts to repurpose their time from building spreadsheets to analyzing the data.

We are just beginning the Automation journey and have implemented reconciliations and are working on tasks. We hope to add matching and journal entries after variance analysis. In the Black Conference is a great learning resource!

I currently use BlackLine to manage & track balance sheet reconciliations for both of my plans. It has automated our process and is an easy way for managers to review and certify them when they are complete.

BlackLine automates every process in our month end close. Matching, Recs, Journals and more. I absolutely love BlackLine and can't imagine working without it. In fact, I won't work for a company that does not use BlackLine, that is how much it helps to efficiently reduce month end close time.

I used it to post manual journal entries monthly. The software addresses challenges in the month end closing process, which includes validating transactions, and producing accurate financial statements. It minimizes the risk of human errors and inconsistencies when there is a function of validate the transaction before certified it. Furthermore, the platform automates various tasks and reducing the time it takes to finalized financial statements.

BlackLine is helping to streamline our process and ensure all tasks (such as journal entries and account reconciliations) required during a period-end are completed timely and accurately while providing insights into progress along the way. For us, the dashboard provides great visibility on the status of reconciliations and tasks assigned to both you and your team. Reports generated out of BlackLine are very useful as well.

We use blackline to manage month end clients tasks as well as account recs. Looking to leverage it for amortization schedules for use in building journal entries. Blackline gives us a centralized location and quick view of where the close process stands at any point during close. It also serves as a central location for the auditors to access recons, meaning less interruption for us.

we use BlackLine AR automation to assist in our cash application. we receive hundreds of payments on a daily basis with the same amounts and not a lot of remittance advice. this tool helps us apply the cash timely and in large volume

BlackLine is used at my organization as an automation tool to reconcile cash transactions in order to generate journal entries in an efficient manner. We also utilize BlackLine's account reconciliation module which adds a layer of sophistication and control to our month end financial close procedures.

I use for balance sheet reconciliation. It address internal control process. identifying any issue or error, reduces the manual work for reconciliation. Help in identifying the transactions.

Blackline has been a beneficial program for our Team and Company! We have saved time on the payment application process and have improved visibility on payment allocation. The implementation process was easy because the Blackline staff was available almost 24-7 to answer questions and concerns, they really understood our business requirements and kept clear communication. I wish we would have used Blackline sooner!

We are using it to post journals into our ERP. It helps us during closing time to reduce the time of the closing itself. We also use this to reconcile accounts, a great many of them. Lastly, on this list, we use it to store information about certain tasks we perform - and yes, that is the task management module. In summary, this is a cool tool which helps you close efficiently and fast. Also, the approval hierarchy is awesome and can be formed based on your needs. What is more, almost everything can be formed based on your needs. It is a very scalable one with handy perks to make your admin life easy as well. Last, but not least, the community is very great, you can find the information you are looking for there - in case you are stuck or just wondering about extra ways of using BlackLine.

BlackLine is used internationally by all of our finance teams. This helps us track and document our review of journal entries and account reconciliations. We have now expanded our BlackLine use to manage SOX Compliance - we are able to set reminders on key controls, maintain support and provide auditor access to reduce our time spent pulling support at year end.

We use Blackline for account reconciliations for our balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. We also utilize Blackline for tracking monthly close tasks. Account reconciliations seems to be appropriate however, I don't think we are fully using all of the capabilities within Blackline so there is a push for us to do more. From a close task perspective, Blackline has been great!

We primarily use BlackLine to substantiate the month-end close for our growing portfolio of managed entities. Since we utilize many different banking solutions and have multiple bank accounts per entity, the volume of transactions we have to reconcile monthly was much too tedious to do manually with our accounting ERP. As such, we had previously spent a week out of our close just reconciling bank activity; now we are able to reconcile the cash accounts daily, with BlackLine doing most of the work.

BlackLine is used for Account Reconciliations, Automated Journal Entries, and Automated Corporate Allocations. Separately, we use a BlackLine product called Smart Close to harmonize and automate our general ledger processes and tasks. BlackLine has enabled efficiency savings, quality improvement, stronger internal controls, and harmonization across regions and company locations. Efficiency gains have enabled our Shared Services environment to significantly expand without adding staff. Productivity gains within our accounting teams have enabled more focus on analysis and project management.

We are currently using the Task Management and close to moving the Reconciliation Module with Matching into production. This implementation will save the department an unmentionable amount of time each month on reconciliations.

The Task Management module allows us to streamline the month-end close process as well as provide us with quick insight into the progress of all the assigned tasks.

BlackLine has helped speed up the Reconciliation process and well keeping track of the closing process. Journal Entry also help ensure proper approval and review using their workflow certification process. We upload balances every 20 minutes using Boomi & the GP Connector. Can't wait to see the BlackLine Studio at the end of the Qtr so that we can start documenting all the processes and integrations related to all the accounting processes and integrations.

We are currently using Blackline Matching and Reconciliations and have heard all great things from all of our Finance departments about improvements and time savings. The Reconciliations product has opened visibility of all recons to our Internal and External auditors and has allowed us to work on standardization across the board as well. Matching has saved so many hours from the financial close process and we have so many use cases we add to the list to start building all the time!!

Blackline plays a key role in our culture of process improvements. It has enabled our team to reduce the use of spreadsheets and manual procedures for many of our processes. We have rolled out multiple modules that provided instant wins. I cannot imagine going back to our old processes and handling our current volume without Blackline.
