In the countries I worked in (Middle East), Skype and Google Hangouts could not be used for technical reasons (VoIP is limited by law), so BlueJeans was the only option to keep the interviews going. Once downloaded, BlueJeans provided the opportunity to keep in touch and continue the conversations.

The landscape of similar services is quite densely populated. To name a few among those, it came to my mind GoToMeeting and Skype. All of them provide the basic functionalities, and more or less the same quality in terms of audio / video / screen sharing functionalities. The decision to go for one, or the other, it really a matter of preferences. I found BlueJeans easy to use, intuitive, and correctly priced.

We benchmarked against Citrix GoToMeeting, Google Hangounts, Vidyo, Skype for Business, PGi. The easiness of adoption, interoperability and command center dashboard of overall use and quality analysis were decisive factors. The pricing model based on a fixed yarly fee with no variable components was as well an important decision factor.

We tried Zoom.us, Lifesize cloud and imind.ru. In my opinion, BlueJeans is easiest for setup and more suitable for the our organization (we don't want actually to change user experience - we just implement a different backend). With BlueJeans we was able to keep basic user experience in the conference room without changes, just add some new functions.

The recording functionality for us was key to why we selected BlueJeans, as we spend a significant amount of time training and running webinars, and we then use the multimedia afterward to repurpose and develop additional marketing collateral.

  • Zoom
Zoom was not the same quality and didn't have the simplicity that BlueJeans has as a user. It would let me have options of changing cameras and we could not figure out as a company how we could properly use Zoom for bigger meetings of 50 plus people attending.

WebEx was less intuitive and didn't have as good SIP bridging capabilities
Zoom was cheaper, but didn't have white glove service
GoToMeeting wasn't up to the same caliber for UI or bridging or customer service
Skype for Business has persistent problems in our environment connecting to outside sources.

BlueJeans has very similar options as the Zoom app, but fewer integrations to certain scheduling tools (e.g. Book Like a Boss). The advantage of BlueJeans for me is that it is reasonably priced when allowing me to do both in-platform training & Facebook Live training. That integration alone is worth the value for me.

WebinarJam does have more possibilities for webinar presentations in my opinion, but its price is much more reasonable and within my budget.

BlueJeans is similar to the other platforms--AdobeConnect will record as well. The three other platforms are clunky and not as user friendly. I have been researching Zoom because the price is considerably cheaper. I connected to a meeting with a partner yesterday using Zoom and this seemed like a similar platform and I may look into this more closely due to the price difference.
