We use BQE CORE for project management, time tracking, and invoicing. Prior to this we were using 3+ programs to do these things and manually creating invoices because we could not find a porgram that let us track fixed and percent contracted time.

This product has allowed me as an employee to be able to enter my time from anywhere. This gives me the freedom to work from home, or in the field when needed. I can simply log on to another pc or an app on my phone to be able to quickly enter my time for the week. I am not tied down to my pc at the office being the only device I can enter my time.

BQE is well suited for time entry. All jobs can be easily located based on our company's file structure system. This helps us keep uniformity across our jobs. BQE is also well suited for expense entry. It allows me to easily record mileage, prints, review fees, etc for each individual project.

We use CORE to keep track of our hours that we work, accrual/usage of PTO, using Holiday hours, and billing our clients. It is particularly helpful to see our budget for a certain project that we have, and how much we are directly billing the client for the hours that we work. I have no bad words to say yet so far about CORE, only that the dashboard user interface is a little hard to customize and not super clear on how to edit. Besides that, it is very easy to use, informative, and intuitive.

It is very well suited for people in companies who bill their time. Our whole firm uses this software, so it is very helpful for us engineers, architects, electricians, leads, project managers, to bill time to specific projects based on how much time we work on their job. However, it is not as helpful for some people in our firm to use that just work for the general company, not on specific projects (i.e. Human Resources, IT, Marketing, etc.)

I use CORE as project tracking tool, specifically to help with resource allocation across all of my company's projects. CORE can break down resource allocation across projects, people, or engineering disciplines, and this allows our discipline leads to track and forecast the utilization of their team members across a selected time frame. This insight is critical in ensuring our teams are not overworked and feeds into business decisions regarding hiring for additional positions.

CORE is well suited for time entry and reporting across employee groups and projects. CORE can generate many useful reports, however the customization and filtering of these reports isn't exactly intuitive. It can be difficult to get the reports to show the data you want, and there is no way to remove data fields from a report or create a custom report.

BQE is used by our company to track and individually account for all of our client billing and hourly projections of staff cost. BQE is able to break out all of our individual detailed circuits and sections for each client simply and quickly. I am extremely happy with the ease by which new users are able to learn and utilize the features.

BQE is great when it comes to ability to customize the individual circuits so that I am able to pass along mini budgets and the costs to the client in a simple way. I like the ease at which new hires are able to grasp the product and make sure that they are correctly sending off the detail oriented billing that my company does. I dont see any down side so far.

BQE Core has been absolutely indispensable for us in starting our business for client management and ensuring that our bookkeeping doesn’t get out of control as we navigate all of the other challenges of starting a business. the invoice builder and estimate creator are excellent and once you get a handle on the global Sherri ya and your naming conventions it will do exactly what you want it to. In addition, the help pages are excellent , and the real time chat built in to the app are really helpful and convenient. Just do t hesitate to ask for help since it is a complex software with numerous features.

Core is very well suited to running all aspects of a business through. It has been a bit of a challenge with such a small business to formalize all aspects so quickly so that the software has enough information to base its recommendations and metrics on, but it is well worth the early struggle to be better organized down the line

We utilize BQE Core on a daily basis for time card entry, project management, and invoicing. We find that utilizing these functions helps keep us on track for compliance. We also record budgets and monitor them to stay ahead of any billing issues. We have also reached out and taken advantage of the custom reports option.

This is a great option for a small business that needs some guidance. I was not familiar with QBE Core prior to working for a civil engineer but it is very easy to learn and it can be utilized by anyone . There are a ton of training scenarios and helpful hints if you do not know the answer to something.

We use BQE on a day-to-day basis as a consulting engineering firm to keep track of time, and expenses for projects to appropriately budget costs to clients. It helps you track the number of hours spent on projects and helps to distinguish how much time was spent on specific activities.

Dashboards are an amazing quick view of an overall snapshot of what is going on. I love the ability to customize and set up multiple dashboards for Accounting, HR, Project Management, etc. The ability to fine-tune a time period is one of the best features. Time Sheets are easy to use for staff with minimal training.

  • It would be great to click on a dashboard area and drill down into an actual report.
  • I'd like to be able to customize what reports I see within Time Card > More > View Reports, set up a memorized report, and then access it from there while also being able to reset date parameters.
  • I'd like the ability to further customize payroll settings. Under Global Settings > MASTER INFORMATION > Employee information > TIME OFF > I like that I can re-name 4 fields of the Activity Items, but I need more and my name does not transfer to some of the reports I use.
  • When emailing invoices, I would like the choice to send from more than one email address. For example, my Project Coordinator creates and sends out invoices to clients so her email signature is used. I, send out reminders under the Collections area but I need to replace her signature with mine every time. It would be nice to be able to choose more than one "signature" to send from.
  • It would be great if you could have a "most used" section for reports. Needing to sift through 200 reports and read/decipher all the descriptions it a giant time sucker.
There are too many reports to choose from and no previews to see what you will get. I inevitably end up with an 84-page tome. The filters need to be revamped to help drill down.

I use BQE Core to log time which we bill to clients, and log expenses, get vacation approved, log sick time. Arcchitecture is all about billing to clients, so I like how easy it is to choose from the dropdown menus who to bill, and what category to file it under.

  • I don't like how every time you refresh something, that line jumps to a different place on the screen.
  • Not that much too improve, I'm pretty happy.
It is well suited for billing hours to particular clients. I like that you can bill down to the 0.25 of an hour, you can be precise which is really helpful when breaking down hours spent on a project. Might not be as necessary if you are not working on so many different projects.

We're a small firm that varies in size and BQE CORE allows the flexibility to expand and contract and provide our staff the tools to manage their workflow, work within budgeted fees and time allocation, and track milestones and progress of project delivery. While many simply clock in, they don't monitor their progress and CORE provides a daily snapshot of time management and meeting project schedules, while I was the principal of design can do more of that…design! We came over from ArchiOffice to CORE and while we lost a bit in prepopulating transmittal, memo, and other related templates with project information for a client, consultant, and contractor coordination, it has been somewhat balanced out by no longer maintaining the server and software with the CORE being a cloud-based platform and providing a very useful mobile app.
  • Tracks individual staff time and resource allocation to stay on budget.
  • Provides up to the minute fee and budget tracking.
  • Almost infinitely customizable with a dashboard to bring it all into a single digestible view for a holistic oversight.
  • Historical project data has been invaluable for preparing fee proposals and performance for future projects.
  • Simplification of structure and features (customization); sometimes it's too much of a good thing.
  • The mobile app could be more closely aligned with the web platform (not all items, features are available, and not as easy to navigate and view data).
  • Dashboard widgets could be more interactive. Ex: Aged Receivables should allow bringing up a summary window of past-due project billings and invoices as opposed to simply showing days aged that it already shows on the side and with matching color.
Some of the user interface has improved greatly over the predecessor ArchiOffice, but the user experience can be improved to make it more fun to use and increase the responsiveness as well as reduce the total number of mouse clicks to complete a task perhaps by using drop-downs that slide out and also providing some consistency in how things are saved from window to window or section to section.

We use BQE Core for Project Management, Time & Expense tracking, Accounting and Billing, Human Resources and as a CRM Platform. Being able to input information into one platform for use across many different modules saves time and energy on our administrative staff. All of the data is tracked and displayed in efficient widgets and customizable dashboards. The customized reports are very helpful as well. You can drill down all or only what you want to see. Customer service is responsive and able to sort out issues quickly.

  • Education: the webinars, videos and community posts are very helpful when onboarding or troubleshooting.

  • development can be slow: fix releases are not as often, feature requests are the only way current users can influence what goes into the new builds.
  • additional filters: would be great to have more filters to drill down reports.
BQE Core is very easy to use in time tracking and expense tracking for employees. Manager can run reports to verify time for payroll, easily approve or send back to employee for updates. Billing/Invoicing is very easy as long as your Project Managers remain on top of approving the staff time entries. Billing can be automated and go out monthly with very little oversight.

We use it to track billable and overhead hours. This is how we track both what we will bill to a client and then in turn, what it is that each of us on the engineering team will be paid (project to project, and specifically in comparison to how many hours we have billed to a client versus to the overhead of the company).

  • If you have to refresh the page before it saves, you lose the info.
  • Doesn't always easily allow copy and paste from previous weeks for categories.
It is ideal for billable hours companies. It tracks progress extremely efficiently for a company that has multiple ongoing jobs concurrently, and a variety of employees who may just happen to be working on said jobs at once (or at different times during different days and weeks, month to month). This program is flawless.

The software is used by the entire organization for timekeeping purposes. It is used by the front office for billing, invoicing and project management. For us, it has been most beneficial for providing real-time project cost updates. We are getting a better handle on tracking our P&L on every project.

BillQuick is most suited for companies who do not have a need for full-blown project management software. It is great for employees who are not in the office on a regular basis, as the mobile timekeeping app is perfect for those in the field. Information is easily accessible and the software offers a HUGE variety of reporting options to track costs in real-time.

We use BillQuick as our sole accounting, time management, and record keeping system. All daily transactions are processed through BillQuick. It is used for everything from AP, AR, invoicing, to all financial reporting. One of the few items we do not use BillQuick for is payroll. But that is because we just got to the 50 person mark and do have the administrative staff to do in-house payroll. Our administrative staff consists of 4 people and they are the ones who are in BillQuick all day. The rest of the staff uses the program more for time and expense entry. We are working on teaching principals, associates, and project managers how to look up information on their own.
  • Daily Data Entry- the AR and banking modules are easy to use and do not require excessive training. They have kept these functions clean and to the point.
  • User Friendly - The interface is easy to read and having different ways to get to the one area is convenient. The way it is organized makes it easy to get around and find what you are looking for.
  • Time & Expense Entry - This module is easy to use and understand. There are different ways to view and enter time and expenses, which is nice because everyone thinks differently.
  • Reporting - The ability to customize reports and that there are a variety of reports to choose from makes it [useful].
  • Pre-programmed Features - the system comes with items (such as default accounts) which you can not edit, delete, or make inactive. You have to explain to a CPA or upper management what they are and why there are there. These default accounts are also the catch all for when there is a difference in fixed fee billing.
  • When looking for specific details, it is hard to follow exactly where everything came from. It works best at the broad overview level but the more detailed you get the harder it is to find the answer.
  • When running reports, the ability (or lack there of) to choose which phases you want to see is missing. You can say you want phases 1, 2, & 3 yet only 2 will show and there is no a reason for this.
  • Time & Expenses which have been marked as not billable don't show up on billing reports. We have asked tech support for help with this but they were only able to give us a report to run each month. The time should still show up on the billing report even if it's marked as non billable as that time is still against the project.
  • In the credit card screen, once you start entering items in you can not go back and delete a line item. You can make it $0 but not get rid of it 100%.
BillQuick is great for basic project related items. When it comes to basic day to day data entry, BillQuick is easy to use and very user friendly but the more detailed and specific you get the harder time it has. Their accounting module is still lacking and needs to be further developed. The financial reports are a bit messy and we have had to spend time cleaning it up and getting it to function the way the CPA and IRS needs them. Currently the AR report does not match the Balance Sheet. I have been asking for a few years now to get an AR report that matches (as it should and is required by the CPA and the bank) yet they have not created one that does.
