We have an in depth understanding of the technology and work with leading retailers, wholesalers and packaged goods organizations to implement and more effectively utilize Brainshark.
We typically address changing how a client creates and sends important and actionable content throughout their organization as well as to their customers.
  • Easy to use and create content - we can get a basic PPT user up and running in less than an hour.
  • Excellent tool to create a product library quickly and effectively so it can accessed by your employees through their easy to set up searchable content portal.
  • If you are a SFDC user Brainshark is an excellent tool to create and manage sales, marketing and training content... and Brainshark easily connects to your SFDC platform
  • Brainshark has addressed a number of feature enhancements over the past two years...it really performs at a high level on a consistent basis...
  • Ocassionally we run into a large video file >500mb that we have to address directly with support but it does not happen very often...
The biggest hurdle a company faces is understanding the various ways that they can utilize Brainshark and then making sure they implement those use cases on an ongoing basis... the best scenario is when someone comes into the organization that has experience using Brainshark and they can quickly assess where and how Brainshark can add value to the organization.
  • Since we implement how Brainshark is used we have found several areas where it has a significant impact...the first is the ability for any three step distributor to build a supplier / manufacturer content library that can be utilized by their B2B sales group
  • Brainshark's survey and question tools are an excellent way to solicit feedback from both internal and external audiences...
  • Brainshark is a cost effective way for retailers and wholesalers to manage store and field level operations...
We run into competitors of Brainshark on a regular basis, Slideshare, ClearSide, QVidian, Captivate, Articulate and others but when someone is willing to look at the easy of use but even more importantly that Brainshark is a viable and cost effective end to end content creation and management solution... they understand the power and value of Brainshark...
My favorite statement is "People just don't know what they don't know"

Brainshark is rapidly building a force of content creation managers and advocates that can demonstrate a real value to just about any business organization... old habits die hard but they are starting to change as more people understand that there is a viable end to end solutoin to create and manage their important and actionable sales and marketing content...
  • Implemented in-house
Their ongoing support after implementation is excellent and easy to access...
Easy to view...and access...like the attachments feature...content is always current.
Quantity and quality of content is excellent...
I always get an immediate response and detailed instructions to help address my questions.

We are about to start our 3rd year using Brainshark. What I like best about the product is that it allows me to pull in a variety of different media to quickly assemble marketing, sales, or training decks and distribute it across a variety of media and devices. You can track who watched and how many times your presentation was watched through their tracking service. I am also able to see where people are dropping out of presentations so you can make the proper adjustments and hold the customers attention. I produce a lot of videos for marketing, sales, and implementation and I love how I can update a videos/slide decks without having to change the URL. The presentations can be copied and edited and I can easily reuse and amend content for different audiences. The customer service and on-boarding is great and allows you to quickly get up to speed so you can start producing content for your internal or external users. They never stop releasing new features and now they are becoming content providers for sales and onboarding training.
  • You can Track who watched and how many times your presentation was watched through their tracking service.
  • Customer service is outstanding. They will walk you through any difficulties you encounter.
  • They are always working and expanding the product to give me ways to engage with my audience
  • They need to add closed captions to their player... using slide notes as a caption is not acceptable. Its been 3 yrs since I brought this up.
  • They favor Apple products, I use droid and it seems like the droid app doesn't get the attention of the apple app.
  • Pricing is a little steep compared to competitors
Is this for internal training or external marketing? I see a lot of people use it for internal training but not customer facing material. Brainshark does both well and that is where the value lies. If you only need one or the other this might more power than you need.
  • I can now track over 15,000 views to our marketing and help videos. This allows me to determine where customer pain points are located in our program
  • I am now able to determine the area the sales team needs the most training but giving simple quick quizzes
  • I can track views down to the ISP number and know when a video is shared internally in an office, letting the sales rep know that there is a lot of interest.
There are a lot of sites that allow you to host/share content in the loud. What won for me was their tracking, analytics, and reporting. At the time there was nobody even close to Brainshark and I have not seen anything since that would make me want to switch. I look forward to many years working with them.

Cause there is a thing called the internet. Usually if I am having a problem, someone else has also and maybe already has a solution. Plus I feel their support is not good enough for free I am sure anther similar product would love to help me use their product.
I have never walked away without a answer and a explanation. That doesn't always mean I am satisfied with the answer but every company/product has limitations.

Yes, Courtney who on-boarded me was fantastic. She answered my questions even after the on-boarding period ended. If she were still there I would still go directly to her. She had endless product knowledge and great ideas I could use to help create the best content.

We use Brainshark for internal sales force training. It's mostly used by our Inside and Outside Sales Divisions. Brainshark allows our new and existing representatives to quickly get up to speed on their product knowledge. We are able to deliver a consistent message to all employees.
  • We like the ability to add audio to our courses
  • We like the ability to build the tests into the presentations and to track scores
  • We like the ability to pull reports on course completed, vs. not completed and to see who is using the system vs. who is not.
  • Better navigation to view and select courses by title, author
  • Easier course enrollments
  • Being able to easily navigate between the presentation side and learning lockers and know what side you are on
  • Advanced reporting
  • Better customer service
  • Increased product knowledge for employees

Brainshark was implemented by the IT Department where it is currently used to design, deliver and host communications, presentations and training for project related activities.
  • Brainshark is a very user-friendly tool that can be learned in a very short period of time; which was extremely valuable as there was only one experienced Brainshark author in our company.
  • Brainshark is a great way to communicate to a global audience. Our company has expanded their global footprint and often the only cost effective way to communicate or train in different time zones and remote locations is using tools like Brainshark.
  • Brainshark provides us a hosting platform accessible across the globe where none exists today in our company.
  • I'd like to see more reference material around reporting. Brainshark has robust reporting for this type of tool, but often it requires my calling the support desk to understand certain aspects of reporting.
Brainshark is an excellent choice if you're looking for a content creation tool that is geared toward business users and doesn't require content development skills. Having said that, Brainshark can accommodate many file types, including content that is developed in tools like Captivate and Camtasia. It's also a great hosting tool for an organization that doesn't have this type of capability and can integrate with LMS systems.
  • Improved communication across the organization.
  • Provided a vehicle for eLearning where none previously existed.
I haven't found a tool that has the integrated content development and hosting tools that Brainshark has. We use Captivate for content development and did not have a standard hosting tool. Captivate requires advanced content development tools that limited use to training professionals and multiple hosting solutions is confusing for end users and more complicated to support.

Our customers (internal employees) have expressed desired for online learning and we have received positive feedback on the Brainshark modules used in eLearning and communications. We are also increasing usage at the project level as the word spreads about the benefits of using Brainshark.

Currently, Brainshark is being used almost exclusively by our marketing department. However, we just renewed our contract to a full enterprise audience and have heard interest from other groups who would like to use it for internal training.

Within marketing, we are basically using it as a way to quickly generate presentations with audio and distribute the content to our clients (financial advisors). In the past we'd need to work with a design team to develop slides with audio and get it posted for distribution. Brainshark allows a non-technical, non-design person to use a templated presentation and produce usable content quickly.

We primarily use it for commentary updates from portfolio managers, but have also created more elaborate marketing messages as well.
  • Fast production time - if you want to avoid a large-scale effort, but would like audio with slides, this is about as simple as it can get.
  • Metrics - because we use Brainshark as a marketing tool, we can use metrics to track the success of the message. The ability to drill down to individual user, how much they viewed and location is nice.
  • Media Options - The tool allows use of PPT, audio, PDF, video and more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. It seems like it can display/play most files you throw at it.
  • Animation Editing - We found that once you start attempting complex animations, the minor differences between how they render and are supported often make us choose to produce video for highly graphic presentations.
  • Campaign Development - They used to have a rudimentary campaign functionality, which was removed. What we'd really like is the ability for us to record one of our experts and then splice in all our sales people so it appears they are the ones doing the interview. That would be very beneficial, but currently it has to be done manually.
  • File sizes - We have occasionally had issues with videos not playing/loading smoothly even though they were smaller than the recommended file sizes.

It's well-suited for any time you'd like to have a presentation with audio. It doesn't take the place of video and isn't the best for highly graphical items. Technically, you can use video on it, but that's not it's forte. It also has a significant amount of elearning capabilities, but I haven't used these items.

If you are only purchasing a certain amount of server space (not sure if they still sell it that way), you are going to run out. We kept hitting our maximum and had to bump it up.

Also, if you don't have a clear owner, but have lots of users, it will become a rats nest of folders and users.

  • Client satisfaction - we send out summaries of our big webcasts/conference calls via Brainshark. We've received lots of replies stating they love the format because they can consume the information on their own time.
  • Time to market - before Brainshark, it took several days, if not weeks to work with a design team to get professional-looking summaries available. Now, we have the process down to a day or two.
While the UI of Prezi was "slick," people got a little seasick after watching it for too long. It seemed too much like a one-trick pony without enough flexibility.
For the niche it fills in the content we produce, there aren't many alternatives. We want something a non-technical, non-design user can use to quickly create content that is distributable to an external audience. I'm not aware of a tool that does that and offers the same features.
75
Primarily marketing, but we also have some technical and product team members who are using it for internal training.
1
Nobody supports it full time. You really just need someone to add/remove users and content. It doesn't require much training and doesn't need to be a technical person.
  • Marketing message sent to clients
  • Conference call summary
  • Internal training
  • We spliced together audio from multiple sales people so it appeared they were interviewing one of our content experts.
  • More internal training and e-learning. We haven't used all the functionality they have to offer in this area.
The first line of support is pretty basic, but if you can get to the more senior/technical people, they're solid.
