In the PR firms I've seen it used at, there's typically a team of experts who do the tricky stuff like setting up complex queries and dashboards and then you have generalists who can pull information from an existing dashboard. Ideally you'd want everyone fluent in the platform, but it's a steep learning curve.

Both I and my manager use as members of the media department. When we hire short-term contractors for projects, they are also given access if there's a large amount of social analysis to be done that extends beyond my workload. So we use it for analysis as a department, but no one higher up uses it, they rely on us to use it and provide information to them.

There are various members of the marketing organization that use Crimson Hexagon for a number of purposes. Most of these employees use Crimson Hexagon for specific reporting purposes within their division. Each division has its own unique wants and needs for reporting, so we set up various marketing team members responsible for those divisions so they could have access to monitoring/reporting tools.

Most of them work in the marketing department, but we did roll it out globally so our global marketing teams were also using Brandwatch Analytics for monitoring. We also gave access to our PR department so they could monitor crises, as well as our executives so they could also be in the know when it was required.

-Junior analyst: Creation of queries, day to day management, fine tuning, reporting.
- Social media expert: channel management. Takes action on the results of the mentions. Intervenes in conversations where necessary. Liaisons with clients if they are managing the conversations.
