I prefer buffer over Hootsuite and prefer Agorapulse over Buffer. The reason I would recommend Agorapulse over Buffer is that when using more platforms Buffer becomes too expensive.

In the beginning, we were torn between Hootsuite or Buffer. We tried the free version of both, but quickly realized we need to invest in a plan in order to get the most out of either one. For us, Hootsuite interface wasn't as user-friendly. It felt messy and a little confusing and took a bit more time to understand where things were. Buffer was easier to navigate from the start. When we decided we needed to upgrade to a better plan, Buffer was just more affordable than Hootsuite. Being a non-profit with a limited budget, that was of main importance for us.

As mentioned previously in my review, I prefer Buffer to Hootsuite for two main reasons. I appreciate the user interface of Buffer for being much simpler to use and less cumbersome than Hootsuite. I feel that Hootsuite tries to overcomplicate data analysis. Anyone serious about their brand can already access that in their profile accounts. I also love that Buffer allows you to utilize Instagram features far better than any other automating app has allowed me to do so far.

Hootsuite has some more robust features like the "listening/monitoring" aspect within the tool that I'm unaware of with Buffer. It's interface is way more crowded, cluttered and it's not nearly as intuitive in my view as Buffer is.

Compared to Hootsuite, Buffer didn't offer the analytics and large-scale management we needed. Buffer is good to use for a small number of accounts for people a little less familiar with scheduling, as its interface is very simplistic. Overall, we decided to use Hootsuite because of the amount of content we could publish and the in-depth analytics it provided, which helped us build a following on social media.

I've previously used Sprout Social and while I think that is a more robust product overall (including its reporting/tracking capabilities), the cost is much more manageable with Buffer. As compared to Hootsuite, Buffer has a far more intuitive interface and makes it simpler to share and manage content. The thing that both of those tools have that Buffer lacks is the ability to monitor feeds and respond to feedback within the tool - it's really just for sharing content.

I feel that Buffer is very much an entry level product because it lacks some of the additional functionality offered by other tools. In that sense I recommend it only for small companies, or those just starting out with scheduling. In terms of scheduling content it does that incredibly well with good analytics and integration to enable content curation e.g. it links seamlessly to Feedly.

I like the ability to sort posted content by various factors, and also to recycle content.

Buffer is really easy to use and with great user experience. it's clean and simple. I tried Hootsuite for a couple of days, but the design and UX at that time weren't great so I switched to Buffer. Also Buffer has another product called Pablo, which is very helpful in creating beautiful images for my social media posts.

I used Hootsuite before and it was a good tool, but the UI and overall UX wasn't that great. Hootsuite did the job, but it wasn't as enjoyable to use it as it's with Buffer. So the main reason I selected Buffer is the user experience and it being an easy-to-use product.

Buffer is a great addition to Hootsuite Enterprise since Hootsuite doesn't allow you to schedule RTs at this time. However, now that Hootsuite has rolled out its library of images, it there is less need for that functionality in Buffer. I don't think Hootsuite lets you edit images, yet.

Buffer was just the most simple to use. There was not a learning curve for any of us. The added perks (dashboards, informative emails) were obvious and easy to take advantage of and put to work for us.
Our main Twitter contributor called it life-changing! That did not happen with the competition!

We started off using TweetDeck and then migrated to Hootsuite. These apps work fine for monitoring partner posts and hashtags that are relevant to our brand but their sharing and scheduling utilities were clunky and inefficient. I'd still be using them for social media monitoring but Buffer recently launched their own tool called Respond so I'll probably keep everything integrated with Buffer going forward.

Buffer is way more intuitive than Hootsuite. While it doesn't have the in-depth reporting or social media inbox Sprout Social offers, it makes up for it in simplicity, cost and customer service. Sprout Social is a great tool with equally good customer service, but the cost is much higher.

We still use Hootsuite Pro even with Buffer. But we have stopped using Hootsuite Free in favor of Buffer because it is just easier to use, visually more appealing and we love the culture that makes Buffer more than just another tool. Buffer has Android and iPhone apps that make sharing and scheduling so easy, I can't say I've had this experience with Hootsuite. Finally, Buffer Customer Service is the biggest selling point to consider. Hootsuite has yet to answer questions I'd send them over a year ago, including follow ups. Buffer answered in less than 10 minutes and went above and beyond to help - over Twitter.
