SAP has released various versions of SAP BO BI. starting from 3.1 and going to 4.0,4.1,4.2 and latest being 4.3. SAP provides support to these new versions. As new versions keep on coming, support for the very old software goes out of scope from SAP. it is when the different organization plans to get their BO content migrated from a lower version to a newer version. The newer version had definitely added functionality and features which ease the work of users.

We are getting the BI support from our SAP support company. Although they are good at some basic staff, they are unable to answer our questions for some complex structures. Sometimes we got the feedback that our request was not possible to implement, however later we found there were some methods available.

The overall support package is very good. The online knowledge base provides wealth of information including step by step details on how to resolve known issues on a per release basis. When required software and/or code is included as a download or cut and paste option. It is also highly recommended to have well trained personnel as your system administrators. Do not relay on support alone to resolve all of your issues.

Initial level of support is normal. Used to respond quickly, now less so. Quality seems to be degrading a little. Level of expertise - sometimes it takes months to get to the right level of information, sometimes it can be fairly quick. On average it's pretty fast compared to other SAP tools. Business Objects support is better than that for other SAP products.
