CA Workload Automation is used schedule batch jobs across ERP applications (FSCM, HCM, EPM). It's used by the finance, supply chain, and HR departments. It is a one stop for reviewing all batch job's statuses and manage from the application. These days we are also using Autosys to invoice OIC integrations and add dependencies with existing jobs. Autosys is a great tool to work with!
  • All batch jobs can be monitored from one dashboard.
  • Provides detailed error logs.
  • We have developed packages to invoke OIC integrations through Autosys.
  • Notifications is a good feature when job fails or runs beyond cutoff time.
  • Doesn't sort out jobs within the box.
  • Drag and drop feature will help in expediting Autosys job development.
If batch jobs are heavily used then this product is highly recommended since it maintains dependencies between jobs, notifies if there are any failures, and puts the next batches on hold if previous dependent jobs fails.

  • Reduces effort of support analysts in monitoring batch jobs.
  • Helps in quickly fixing and restarting jobs.
  • Notification feature helps in quickly attending to the problem and fixing it.
Delivered PeopleSoft Process scheduler doesn't provide one stop to review all batch jobs and dependencies. Also, it doesn't provide graphical representation of all jobs. In contrast, Autosys provides nice graphical interface of all jobs and it's status. Autosys allows to review the dependencies and failures all in one common place.
I love this product!!
Very happy!

It is currently being used across a department with access to a certain set of applications and is used to see the performance of the servers.
  • Instrumentation of backend servers.
  • Analyzing the performance of these servers.
  • Helping users with network utilization, CPU utilization details, etc.
  • Monitoring of front-end websites.
  • More utilization insights if possible.
  • Customer service via chat in the future if possible.
Suitable for utilization of backend servers, not currently perfectly suitable for front-end performance monitoring.

  • Positively affected in resolving issues through alerts during peak traffic.
  • Monitoring directly help during Thanksgiving and Black Friday traffic.
  • Reporting helped in explanation of issues to higher management.
We use these products as well, but currently the usage depends on the department.
It would be great if customer chat experience is also readily available.

We are using this application to manage our workload (and schedule jobs) for our Back Office Operations. Jobs have been scheduled, which includes shell scripts, db procedures, batch jobs, integration with Informatica and Big Data Hadoop. Views and alerts have been setup for our NOC to monitor these jobs 24/7. Currently being used by IT Operations and Application Team.
  • Workload can be scheduled across different Platforms.
  • Support for Hadoop. Integration with Informatica Dataware house application.
  • The latest version has a web interface which is very impressive.
  • Low overheads from administration standpoint.
  • Better Reporting and Troubleshooting of why some jobs are failing.
Good for monitoring in a heterogeneous environment, and well suited for cross platform support. Easy to upgrade and migrate data. There is less overhead to manage the application.

  • Easier to manage and alert on Workload.
  • Greater visibility on all application and database jobs running on different OS and databases.
We selected CA Workload Automation for the ease of integration and less time to setup. It has less overhead to manage the application and is a very robust application.

CA Workload Automation is being across our entire Technology department to manage the operations of multiple applications of multiple environments. CA Workload Automation helps the business by reducing job failures, increases transparency into applications and the issues that it creates and most importantly, helps the firm by meeting SLA requirements more consistently.
  • CA Workload Automation manages and customizes job scheduling very well.
  • CA Workload Automation is very easy to learn and start using. The GUI design is very simple and makes it easy for first time users to setup their jobs, parameters and conditions.
  • CA Workload Automation supports the major operating systems, Oracle applications and supports growing volume of workloads quite well.
  • CA Workload Automation reduces time to process workloads and flexible to support multiple environments which is critical for testing, maintenance and operations in for any Technology group.
  • Even though the CA Workload Automation GUI is simple and easy to use, it looks outdated and has limited features such as customizing dashboards and saving particular user settings.
  • CA Workload Automation lacks performance and is often slow to edit jobs or to refresh screens and sometimes requires admin to restart service agents for background processes.
  • I would like to see CA Workload Automation in one screen with all the information the user wants to see and have this customized and saved for every user. Rather than having to build a view and search criteria for every new job that is added.
  • I would like a feature or configuration that you can setup different types of notifications for job failures such as text message with different levels of severity.
CA Workload Automation is well suited for firms having to manage and monitor multiple applications operating in multiple environments. and having SLA requirements. CA Workload Automation is less appropriate and not cost-effective for non-critical applications and/or jobs. CA Workload Automation is ideal for companies that require reliable and stable Production support for their business critical jobs to finish on time.

  • CA Workload Automation has improved SLA by 50%.
  • CA Workload Automation has reduced job failures by 60%.
  • CA Workload Automation has improved staff productivity and problem resolution.
  • CA Workload Automation has improved application availability.
  • BMC, Tidal, crontab and ACCE
CA Workload Automation stacks up very well compared to Cisco/Tidal, BMC and is far superior to crontab. CA Workload Automation has easy initial setup, efficient job management and scheduling, supports multiple applications and environments and improves business critical needs including SLA, increasing productivity while decreasing processing workload times and failures. CA Workload Automation also integrates well with Automation Change Control Expert or ACCE which is a nice migration tool to have if you're managing jobs in the thousands.
