Campaign Monitor is a versatile email marketing software that has been widely used across various industries. Users have found the product valuable for a range of use cases. For instance, it serves as a content editor and mail server, seamlessly integrating with social media apps, custom web apps, and more. This allows users to send out well-designed and effective communication pieces both internally and externally. Furthermore, Campaign Monitor is often utilized as a CRM, enabling users to personalize emails based on customer behavior and automate the email marketing process. This has proven particularly useful for reaching out to volunteers, program participants, donors, and board members effectively through newsletter marketing. The software also offers deep integration with popular platforms like Facebook apps, WordPress websites, and custom-built web apps.

One of the key benefits of Campaign Monitor is its ability to create segmented lists and send out mass campaigns. This versatility makes it suitable for organizations of all sizes. For example, a real estate company in Texas utilizes the software across their entire organization to deploy email marketing campaigns for new subscribers and clients. Additionally, Campaign Monitor plays a crucial role in promoting events, products, and services within an organization by the marketing department. It helps address the need for targeted communication with dentists, nurturing them with educational content until they are ready to send a case. Moreover, Campaign Monitor's integration with Salesforce proves to be a huge plus for users as it relates to contact records.

Users appreciate the simplicity and reliability of the software, along with its spam filters and reporting capabilities on list hygiene. With a wide range of email templates available, users find Campaign Monitor's templates highly customizable without requiring code modification. This user-friendly interface extends to the backend of the software as well. While users would appreciate deeper analytics in campaign stats presentation, they find that Campaign Monitor provides them with a range of analytics to make better decisions for their marketing strategies. Overall, Campaign Monitor has become a go-to solution for businesses looking to improve their email marketing efforts, offering easy management of lists and subscribers along with good support and compatibility with various plugins for other platforms.

Easy to use and navigate: Users find Campaign Monitor very easy to use and navigate, with an intuitive user interface that provides everything they need without the need for extensive searching. Many reviewers have stated this as a positive aspect of the platform.

Well-designed templates: The templates provided by Campaign Monitor are well-designed and mobile optimized, allowing users to create professional-looking emails and newsletters easily. Users appreciate the ability to customize the templates or create their own, even without web design experience. This feature has been praised by numerous reviewers.

Clean and easy email builder: The email builder in Campaign Monitor is clean and easy to use, enabling users to effortlessly insert images, links, texts, and make precise adjustments to every aspect of their campaigns. Several users have mentioned how simple it is to create visually appealing emails using this feature.

Limited Collaboration Features: Some users have expressed frustration with the lack of collaboration options in the email generator, as it has caused issues in the past when multiple team members were working on the same email campaign.

Restrictive Split Testing: Users find it limiting that split testing is only available for two variants, which can be restrictive for those who want to test multiple variations.

Inconvenient Social Sharing: Campaign Monitor lacks native social sharing features, requiring users to visit a third-party site to obtain social sharing buttons. Additionally, editing social cards within Campaign Monitor is not possible, resulting in unformatted preview images when shared on social media.

Users commonly recommend the following:

  1. Thoroughly research and compare Campaign Monitor with other platforms before making a decision. Users suggest fully learning how to use Campaign Monitor properly, as it may not be the most user-friendly tool out of the box. They also recommend considering the price of other software options before choosing Campaign Monitor.

  2. Users suggest trying Campaign Monitor if you want to optimize flow and project management, and develop various templates. They recommend Campaign Monitor for companies that handle a large number of customers, as it is easy to learn and offers excellent marketing automation capabilities. However, users also suggest considering competitors like Mailchimp for a less expensive option with less robust nurture emails.

  3. Users recommend Campaign Monitor for its simplicity in email creation, integration with other applications, and affordable pricing. They suggest creating professional-looking email templates and utilizing the dynamic reporting dashboard in Campaign Monitor. Users believe Campaign Monitor is the best option on the market for sending and managing campaigns, offering easy email creation and subscriber list management.

Overall, users highly recommend trying Campaign Monitor due to its powerful features, reasonable costs, and value for money. They suggest thoroughly researching and comparing it with other platforms to ensure it meets all requirements and pricing expectations.

It is best suited for simple, yet mass campaigns, where you have your mail emailing list, and you send out periodical emails to that group. It is excellent with that. It gets dicey when you start segmenting and breaking down that main list into separated lists, based by region. It is challenging to do that.

[Ibelieve] Campaign Monitor is awful when you need support. I've had an open support call for 3 weeks and they haven't even started work on it yet!!! Had I known I'd have used another provider and my email campaign would be out by now. No one has contacted me despite many attempts from my side.

I've used a lot of email marketing programs in the past and many of them were painfully clunky when it came to creating the designs. Campaign Monitor has been the easiest and most consistent in terms of design. How an email looks when you see it on the design page is how it looks when it is sent to email recipients.

Campaign Monitor is undoubtedly one of the best software for managing email marketing campaigns; it is a robust platform and can be adapted to any company. If you are not a developer and don't know any code, it has many pre-made templates to use. I highly recommend Campaign Monitor; it is perfect, does what needs to be done, and is very easy to use.

It can't do some heavyweight enterprise stuff or customization, but we've traded that off for ease of use for multiple users who are not subject matter experts. The interface is intuitive, making activities like segmentation (particularly behavior-based: e.g. 'users who opened X campaign and did not click') and automation a lot easier to implement. I think this is great for a smaller-scale org that doesn't have a lot of tech/dev specialist resources.

I absolutely would recommend Campaign Monitor if asked by a colleague, especially one in the non-profit industry! It's been remarkably helpful in tailoring specific emails and sending them to large segmented groups, and the functionality of designing the newsletters is extremely well-done. It's affordable for how much it does for our organization.

[Campaign Monitor] is a platform that offer users a quick and easy way to design personalized messages to send to their customers and also enable them to optimize their campaigns with the help of detailed reports and advanced analytics. It is suitable for sending out mass emails and setting of program autoresponders.

If your company can identify customers by email only, then Campaign Monitor is for you. It really makes it easy to build audiences and follow-up with them, either manually or automatically. Campaign Monitor's advanced automation journeys allow you to create journey email series that could nurture users and educate them until they are ready to send your first order.

If you want an easy to use and reliable email builder tool that makes great looking "bulletproof" emails, Campaign Monitor is the tool to go with. I found the emails looked and worked great on every OS/browser/client, so there was little need for testing for each email sent. It also offers good list management and some automation features. If you need more flexibility with your design and do not mind having to go through more rigorous testing for every email or you need more robust automation/workflow features, it may not be suited to you.

Campaign Monitor is great if you want to take email marketing seriously and incorporate best practices for email marketing. The spam filters are turned up a bit higher on Campaign Monitor than other entry-level email services which is great for protecting your domain reputation and protecting the end-user. Campaign Monitor is not great for folks looking to get into email marketing because of the price point. Additionally, if a contact is in two lists, that contact will be counted twice against billing, which raises the price a bit when you are looking to create multiple lists with Campaign Monitor.

Perfect for those just starting out, or looking to start crafting and sending marketing emails quickly.
However, pricing is not as competitive for smaller businesses or small organizations.

For a business who has plans of growing their email list and using email as a key communication vehicle, Campaign Monitor provides a suite of features that will provide tremendous value.

It is perhaps not that appropriate for the small business who doesn't believe they will ever get beyond 2,000 contacts and only wants to send irregular emails.

If you have a large list you need to run through and validate, this is a good service. Pretty easy in import and export lists. Not too great for segmenting lists, there are better services that make it easier and more impactful.

Campaign Monitor is helpful for a company that wants to take the next step to using a higher level email marketing service. It helps get you into automation, dynamic content, and more advanced segmentation. It’s a good step up for teams coming from MailChimp. It’s not appropriate for companies who are wanting to send out content marketing emails with the intent of them being shared on social media. The social sharing is non existent and embarrassing.

I don't have a large list, so this works well for me. However those with large lists might be put off by the way that the import feature works, or by the huge difference in the pricing structure. All in all, it is a really great product, and I plan on sticking with it.

It's an easy-to-use interface that works well for self-service clients and solopreneurs looking to keep in touch with their customers. For more robust automations and triggers, it would be better to look into options like Active Campaign, Infusionsoft, or even MailChimp. Though there can be a significant price difference between those types of services.

The platform is robust and should fit almost any business or setup based on your needs. I have used it for as small as single emails and newsletters and it can be used all the way up to building custom journeys with triggers and everything in between. If you are not a designer and do not know any code this platform has a decent amount of pre-made template to use. The cost based on your email list is very competitive with the other competitors in the market. I personally did not like to use it for our transaction emails, but the platform is capable of doing this feature. I use Send Grid for this service instead.

It's a perfectly adequate email sending tool for basic campaigns. Our Salesforce integration was a bit borky with it and I mentioned that the contact management and list/segmentation tools aren't great for a more sophisticated/mature digital marketing operation. If you want to sent some basic campaigns with good data visibility, this is a good fit for you. But if you are at all thinking about automation, I'd leapfrog into those tools rather than this one (forms, lead generation, CRM integration, dynamic lists).

Campaign Monitor is suited to cases where the emails that you send are heavily templated, and will not deviate much from that template. We use it primarily for internal communications to staff as opposed to sending an Outlook email, as it provides us with stats on open rate, clickthrough, etc. It is less appropriate for cases where you anticipate a lot of deviation between email communications and would rather have full control over the look and feel of the email.

I think for an email marketing tool, Campaign Monitor is spot on. It does what you need it to do and is very easy to use. If you want basic outbound email marketing overall this is the tool to use. I like it much more than other email tools out there. It is less appropriate when you need a more robust inbound solution.
