- 8.2Downloading assets(24) Ratings

- 7.2Categories(23) Ratings
Assets can be organized in drop-down menus to assist in discovery and grouped with related assets for greater utilization. Most DAMs offer AI and machine vision tagging tools to automatically recognize key data in visual elements which automatically sets tags and metadata fields.
- 8.1Asset storage(23) Ratings
Centralized storage capacity and accessibility for centralized storage of marketing and brand assets. These can be anything from documents, audio files, videos, images, creative files (Adobe, etc.), etc. Outdated assets can be archived.

Reviews
(26-50 of 253)- Ability to manage several portals and allow different users access to each.
- Ability to customize each Canto platform or portal to suit all needs.
- The platform is very easy to use, and while there are more complex components to the platform, users are able to use only the basics and remain very successful.
- Would like to see an Android app in the future.
- There are a lot of add-ons available, but most come at an extra cost. At the price we pay for the platform, I'd like to see more of these features included.
- The ability to customize folder or album URLs would be helpful.
Saves SO Much Time for Multiple Departments!
- Keywords
- Ability to Customize Features
- Portals and Share Links
- Sometimes, if uploading multiple albums in a day, the metadata from the photos I uploaded previously will show up
- Ability to edit the pictures within a share link
Pretty great product, horrible service
- Search terms
- Portals
- Security
- Account management/Service
- Adobe connect can be cumbersome to use
- More live trainings
Canto keeps us organized and on brand
- Creating links to share media items
- Creating a portal for others to view specific media items on their own time
- auto tagging images
- video file management is a little more cumbersome than still images
- upload / processing of items seems slower than it should be
Canto: Asset management you can't live without.
- Search capabilities
- The app is an extra added bonus when uploading pics from mobile devices
- Never any lag time when using Canto
- Integration with Canva
- On occasion I have files fail to upload through the app.
- Allow users to upload their own images.
- Searchable image catalog
- Browsable image tiles
- Search function is inaccurate
- Dependency on user-uploaded images often means that I don't have access to the image I need
Canto image & asset management review.
- Facial recognition.
- Public portals for sharing.
- Supports single sign-on.
- Image management.
- More intuitive user experience.
- Had upload errors when using the Canto connect.
- More customization.
I Feel Like It's Frankenstein's Monster From the 90's!
- Photo tagging
- Public portals
- Photo library management
- In my opinion, it is the worst UX I've ever seen, it's a very outdated UI.
- Lots of functions could be improved. It wants to offer a lot but, in my experience, fails with almost everything.
- I feel like there is a lack of product direction and focus.
Rarely do I like software this much, but Canto has been amazing
- Allowing users to download a resized version of an image self serve (eg. for social media)
- Sharing collections where recipients can see and download high res images
- Tagging to make searches very simple and eliminate complete folder structures
- Tag all info about an asset in the data rather than trying to name images with this data
- Seeing a path for collection images
- sometimes in an upload link the only way to return to the main library is manual adjustment of the URL
- More permission levels available.. not just Consumer or admin
It works but it takes work
- Consistent user experience
- Allows for comprehensive tagging on uploads
- Great customer service to help with a range of questions
- You get out a lot of what you put in, so it's labour intensive to see value
- It has some limitations using workspaces or portals for sharing information that aren't assets
- The licencing plans could be a bit more flexible
Sierra Club Canto Review
- Search function
- Permissions function
- sizing
- The UX could be a bit better, it's a bit clunky
- Ability to add written or multimedia storytelling
Canto has some pros and cons
- Tags
- Portals
- Support response time
- Share links creation/customization/search
- Face detection isn't that easy to use
- Would be nice if there was an option to automatically upload files every night/sync files
Canto review
- Easy search
- Pptx Integration
- Company Original pictures
- Better category recommendations
With Canto, implementation and process is everything
- Asset classifications
- Native content editing
- Shareability
- Ease of use after configuration
- It's been hard without a dedicated person to manage it to configure properly
- It's eminently configurable, but the paradox of choices counterintuitively makes it hard to use
- In platform photo editing is limited
- Accessibility from basically everywhere and across platforms.
- Search and filter function.
- Responsive and helpful customer support.
- Curate content function can be "misused" to plan and coordinate across teams.
- Excellent reporting features and dashboard on what goes on in your CANTO.
- Good version control, easy to update outdated or changed files, and revert back to older versions if needed.
- Workspace functionalities are not always clear.
- User groups collaboration and user rights could be more varied.
- The way in which some files are sorted could be solved differently.
Administrator and User
- Facial recognition (now that we resolved the bug in the system)
- UI customization. Would be nice to better integrate the brand of the company using the software as well as more control over some of the out of the box features that are not used.
- A more intuitive user experience. Once I train people they are able to navigate the platform reasonably well. But otherwise people have a hard time finding what they need unlike an experience on a site like Getty Images.
- Better and more timely support. We had major issues with the facial recognition software after the migration. It took over a year of us asking for help and an escalation of the issue to get it resolved. We are a large customer and it was very frustrating to have our main issue ignored and slow walked to resolution.
- When uploading images and going back to bulk tag photos, users do not always remember to select "Overwrite" which means content duplicates. We spend a lot of time cleaning this for people. Unless you use the tool weekly, it's not an easy piece to remember to select.
- Would be fantastic to have some sort of algorithm that recognizes objects and other elements in photos to automatically add metatags to the custom field section for use in the open search field. We try to go through and tag but would be fantastic to have that happen automatically. Items like trees, leaves, car etc.
- Sharing media internally and externally
- Easy to search
- Integration with MS Office and Adobe
- Would like more control of who can download media with different DRM properties
- Would like to use watermarks on some files, for only some users
Improves our creative asset development efficiency!
- Save creative files in an organized fashion.
- Make creative files easy to find with its taggable/searchable capability.
- Provides for continuity of finding creative historical files even when employee members leave.
- The tagging methodology seems VERY hard to grasp at first.
- Our team is not yet sure if we should save flattened design files or "layered" design files into Canto.
- We struggle on our team to know if we should save each draft of a file or wait until we get to a finished draft, then final draft round 1, final draft round 2, etc.
Retrieving assets is aces.
- Storage
- User Interface
- Migration
- Too many emails soliciting feedback from corporate
- Very expensive
- Functionality- needed to select download icon in 2 different screens for image to download.
Friday view - Perhaps not the most shiny one!
- Creation on upload links.
- Creation of Portals.
- Automatic Tags.
- Reliable search engine.
- Automatic geo tagging.
Canto review.
- Controls duplicates.
- Ease of retrieval.
- Eliminates the use of multiple folders.
- Able to apply retention and disposal.
- Retention & disposal.
Canto is a great solution for our limited needs.
- Nice storage for the price.
- Easy to manage users.
- Supports single sign on.
- Flexible asset data entry.
- UI is a bit clunky.
- More templates for design.
- A way to rest the most downloaded item list.
Seamless.
- Metadata
- Speed
- Reliability
- Geo Tagging.
- Custom filters.
- Users restriction on specific files.
Canto.
- Photo collection management with full metadata.
- Repository of photos made available for outside users.
- Some UI/UX improvements.
- The portals feature is a nice start, but the design tools are limited. I wish it would function more like a CMS.
- Intermediate user types. Currently, it's regular users (free) and power users ($1,000/per person/year). A user level with a lower cost and fewer administrative functions would be welcomed.
- Adobe Connector should be made available for users who are not assigned as power users.
Canto is a user-friendly, marketing feature ready DAM software
- Enable digital assets to be distributed with control
- Highly customizable metadata fields to suit different needs
- Efficiently publish portals or webpages of curated selections
- Too few useful analytics
- Deduplication process is difficult to use
- Video functions too slow
